Loved the people here! Had my AC serviced then repaired and everything was done to perfection. They were honest and made me feel comfortable. They offer financing through Affirm. I was told the job required $400 in parts but 10hrs labor. I quoted my dealership and Jefferson auto service and Jefferson auto had better pricing. They worked on my car while I was out of town as they have a convenient after hours pick up. Will definitely see them again. read more

I went in to Jefferson Auto really wanting to give this place five stars. The are probably one of the friendliest group of people that I've had the pleasure to deal with. However, when calling them to find out when the car will be ready, into get a breakdown of the bill, they charged me for a brake job that I didn't ask for. To their credit, they took the labor off for the brake job and gave me a reasonable price for the pads. I understand they needed to be changed, so I was willing to accept that. However, after driving the car the noise that I originally brought the car in for was still there. This is after dropping it off and telling them to please check the strut. They said the noise was from the tie rods, changed them, and charged me approximately $600. Now, it turns out the problem is the strut. The gentleman I dealt with at the desk, told me they could install the strut at a discount price. I'm not sure what kind of discount is fair since I just paid $600 to have the problem corrected in the first place. Maybe the tie rod was bad, or close to being needed replaced the same as the brakes. But at this point, my wallet doesn't know the difference. All I know is, I'm out $600 for something that wasn't corrected. With that said, I compared the discount price they offered me to put new struts in, and it turned out to be the same price everybody else was giving me including labor. I find this to be a shame because the people were so nice and the reviews prior to mine were mixed. I thought about a month before posting this review. I really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, to be sure they installed either the correct or the incorrect part. When I got under my car, the answer was obvious. The strut was bad, no doubt about it. I wish them well, and better luck in the future. After reading the business owners response, I can only encourage him to read the rest of the reviews of his business. Of course I didn't bring the car back in. I decided not to gamble the rest of my money with this business. I'm sure the owner of the business was aggravated because he spent money on a part that had no value. Or, that would bring him no profit. That's exactly how I felt. And as far as having no problem with the strut, then yes if a torn Boot and oil leaking out of the strut is no problem, then yes it was no problem with it. I acknowledge the fact that you changed the brake pads with no labor charge. Perhaps next time you should ask before you start changing parts. We talked about the brakes before you did the work, and I told you I was going to do it myself. If you look at the other reviews, you'll see that that is not the first time that happened. I will start by saying that these guys were not my usual mechanics, but circumstances led me here. Well, LUCKY ME!!!! Look, auto repairs aren't a great time for me and there's never a convenient time for a break down. Josh and his team were so professional as well as personable. I really can't imagine a more pleasant repair scenario. They kept me in the loop on everything that they were doing, and, bottom line... my car is up and running again! Also, I found their rates to be more than reasonable. They also ensued a feeling of trust... something that you don't always get when dealing with any type of repair. I had a ruined tire. I called Jefferson Auto with the information on the tire I needed. They had to order the tire. It was at their facility early the very next day. They had the new tire on my vehicle in less than 24 hrs. from the time I called. The price was reasonable, the staff friendly. The waiting area is very comfortable and clean, but I did not have to wait long. I am glad to have found this business. read more

Locally own small family business, not rude at all, but the work rate could be a lot better, the price the offered me to diagnose my electrical problem, which I told them is the horn would cost 150$ alone, that doesn't include the labor, not to mention 5 days after I sent the car in, I called for a update and they haven't even started looking at my car. After they said they will take 2 days to check it out. SO I was lied too! As of writing this review 7 days now and they have yet to look at my car. luckily i found out that my car was sent in within 90 days of purchase (carmax) so the bill goes to carmax. If I were paying out of pocket for this service I would have taken my car back before they looked at it, kind you within writing this review it's been 7days, and they still have not looked at it. read more

Both my friend and I went here on separate occasions and they were overly honest, and impressed us both. They told my friend she didn't need things she thought she did and the owner questioned my bill, thinking I paid too much, before he realized I added an additional service. I got new tires and asked for wipers. When they realized my wipers required special attachments, they offered to refund my money or let me come by whenever was convenient. I've never felt so comfortable knowing they had my best interest at heart and they were very pleasant. If you have auto service needs, go see them!! read more

I took my car in to jefferson auto in August. I spoke to Francis originally and made it very clear that I only wanted a diagnostic done. He quoted me $99 dollars for the test and labor. I never signed one piece of paperwork. I waited for hours that day and when I left he wasn't sure what was wrong with the car. Threw out several options of what it could be and said I'd hear from him the following day. After two more days and spotty phone calls I was told the car was running and I had a bill of over $500. I was irate because they were not instructed to do any work. Then the nightmare began. How many times I've been told by this sham of a business that "all mechanics work like this " is insane. I was told then by Jeff that he'd talk to the owner and see if an arrangement could be made for payment. Three months later all its been is one big circus act. Now they've filed for the title of the car. When I finally talked to the "owner" cathy maone I realized how much of a circus this place is. The phone call started with her crying I lost my husband and it's so hard and that's why I haven't gotten to you. After she played her sympathy she told me I could have the car back minus storage fees for the price of what they did. When I asked her for a work order she replied you can't have anything until you show up with money to pay for it. I tried to explain how can I show up with money if I don't know what I'm paying for. "You can't have a work order that's not how this works" to "you're getting nothing from me". To her finally relenting and saying she'd send me a work order. Which I have asked for so many times and never received. Hours later I get nothing and I call back. Finally she sends something that I've never seen before that doesn't match the one she sent my dad. Yes, she or Jeff or someone sent him a work order but not me, who asked for it and lives here. By the time she sent it, it was after 4 pm. I had explained that I couldn't come till next week earlier. On this paper she writes I must come on that day only. I hung up on her. This entire company us ridiculous and I'm now taking them to court. I can't believe they run a business like this and with their level of shadiness I wonder what they're really running out of that shop. I'd avoid them at all costs and for whoever out there says they treat you like family, this is a really unusual version of family. Just a bunch of straight up thiefs. I wrote this exact review on Facebook where the horrible staff continued to fight me in the comments, claiming it was a story only 25% true and that it was unfair of me to say these things about them. They also continued to berate me on a social media review. I have no idea how they are a running business or how their negative reviews disappear. I stand by there's something other than just an auto repair shop operating out of there. read more

Francis and Josh rock! My car broke down in a hospital garage after my husband, a cancer and heart patient, had spent 12 hours in the ER. The garage has very low clearance, like 6.5'. Tow trucks cannot enter the garage, in other words. Francis worked with us to get the car to his shop. Josh came over to pick up the key ( about six blocks from the shop), and I didn't even have to leave the house. Somehow, using a jump box, I believe, they were able to get the car down the ramp, then hooked it up to the tow truck. All of this was going on during the week of Hurricane Harvey, so the constant heavy rain caused some justifiable delay. Once the car was in the shop, however, the work moved along swiftly. It turned out that the A/C compressor was shot, which is to be expected on a 20 yr old Toyota Avalon. Bottom line, the total bill was half of what we expected. (My husband sold cars for yrs before he fell ill, so he knows customary charges.) I've been driving the car for a few weeks since, with an ice cold, blasting A/C. Sign me a happy customer. :) read more

I would not recommend Jefferson Auto Service. The mechanic who worked on my car did sloppy work which three weeks later had to be redone by someone else. In September, Jeff Auto had replaced a valve gasket which they felt might have been causing my oil leak ($200). An oil leak can come from many sources, so when my car began leaking again a couple weeks later, I brought it back to them. This time they put in a new solenoid ($440) and sent me off - fingers crossed. The leak continued and at this point, I learned from someone that a worn timing belt could also cause a leak. My timing belt was definitely due to be replaced, so I decided to bring it in to Honda to do this extensive work, along with an overdue 105,000-mile servicing. I asked Honda to also look for the oil leak & relayed the Jeff Auto work already done. In looking for the oil leak, Honda ran fluid with dye thru the system, and found the new valve gasket leaking from behind. The Honda-certified, 31-yr veteran mechanic told me that the sealant used by Jeff Auto was an inferior product (as was the gasket itself) and the oil was actually bypassing the gasket. He said the work was very sloppy and the sealant hadn't held. I again paid for a new valve gasket & oil. I went back to Jeff Auto to tell them. *Their first response was to tell me they never do sloppy work or use inferior products. *The next response was to ask for the old gasket so they could turn it in for reimbursement, which unfortunately I did not have. It had gone out in the trash at Honda the day they removed it (Friday) and I picked my car up on a Saturday - the day I saw the new valve on their receipt. The mechanic also was out on Saturday, so the following Monday, I spoke with him about the work he had done & why. *I was asked why I didn't come back and they would fix it for "free". Fix what?! Admit to a shoddy job on the gasket? Put more expensive repairs into the car yet again? No, I definitely made the right move going to Honda. *The overall attitude I got from Jeff Auto was that Honda was not to be trusted. FYI - the mechanic is a friend of a friend of mine and could be totally trusted. *I was offered a "store credit". Honestly, I lost all trust in Jeff Auto's mechanical integrity and would not go back for even so much as an oil change. *They refused to do anything more for me and were very defensive. I initially went to Jefferson Auto from a yellow page listing and because they were close to my job. My former mechanic had retired. The fact that they were a family-owned business of "four generations" carried a lot of weight. I learned that the original owner had died a couple years ago and that his 2 sons are now running the business along with their owner/mother and other family members. They were nice enough people on the 2 occasions I went there - until they weren't. The mother, Cathy, called the shots - store credit or you're out of luck. I felt they saw no obligation or indebtedness whatsoever for sloppy work which cost me $200. How unfortunate. Had they done the right thing, I would not be writing this review. If this review discourages even one new customer, they will have already eaten the $135 (I generously offered to pay the diagnostic fee for that first visit). The fact that I walked away from $135 store credit says a lot about the trust I have in their ability and my desire not to do any further business with them. read more

I took my son's car in to be fixed due to the steering going out when going through water/hitting a puddle and the car would stop running and/or become impossible or difficult to steer. We first dealt with Francis both my son and I explaining the problem to him several times and $800+ later they said it was fixed. On the way home it was raining and the car did the exact same thing, they hadn't fixed it at all, and my son almost hit a bridge. Jeff, who was very nice, had the car towed back and kept it for water testing for a week and said they had to splice some wires and change a serpentine belt. Eventually we had to take the car to Honda to have it repaired properly. Jefferson Auto refuses to accept responsibility and refund my money for their faulty attempts. I made a BBB complaint and the response from Ms. Maone at Jefferson Auto is completely inaccurate and offers no resolution. I've made a complaint with the Attorney General's office and will file suit next. This used to be a good shop but it seems that's no longer the case. This unfortunately isn't even the first time they've made a bad repair on my son's car but the other time wasn't a safety issue. read more
