I detour off I-5 almost weekly to check out Jefferson businesses and popped in here to get some cinnamon rolls. It was early afternoon, they were sold out, but the counterperson (probably Amanda) told me that a morning call will hold an order of cinnamon rolls. The lemon bar I bought was RICH---took me three tries to finish it. There's a menu on a board up at the ceiling corner to the left of the counter. I asked about lunching here on more elaborate fare and couldn't savvy exactly what the protocols were. If ever I have seen one, this is a venue which will take repeat visits by locals to figure out how to play to its strong suits. I hope the place makes it. So I stopped into Jefferson bakehouse approximately 2 weeks after the newspaper article came out. My experience then was average at best. I purchased an assortment of treats because my intent was to give them away at a local bank in Albany for the girls to try. Needless to say the experience was fair . It did not stop me from going back several more times because I went back and read the article again and I could see this young lady's passion, not to mention she reached out to me because she was very upset which was also a sign that she cares a lot about her business. I must say upon each and every revisit the quality kept getting better and better. The lemon bar is to die for. I might even be addicted to them now. Holy cow if you haven't been here, you're missing out! We drove from Aumsville and it was well worth the drive! Because everything is made fresh, you may have to wait a few but I promise it's worth it! We had a cream cheese cinnamon roll, a glazed donut, chocolate donut and a s'mores (yes I said smores!) cinnamon roll. So good!! And so friendly! read more

We finally ventured out for some doughnuts and I'm sure glad we did! The Jefferson Bakehouse not only has great doughnuts, but great staff too! They have a great variety of doughnuts, which have the perfect amount of sweetness (I.e. you're not getting sugar sweats). Also most doughnuts leave my mouth feeling like their coated in grease, but pleasantly these do not. Give them a try; you won't be disappointed! read more

Absolutely delicious cinnamon rolls! I have never seen anything like them! Great price too! We also had a Cuban sandwich and a jalapeño popper panini. Omg, it was sooooo good! Unfortunately I believe they discontinued it. The wait was a bit long, but worth it. Their dining area is small and not very inviting, which is a bit of a bummer because I would've loved to sit and enjoy a coffee and have my girls enjoy a cinnamon roll while we waited for our sandwiches was. It's fairly new and I know they're working out the kinks, but I would definitely recommend stopping by to grab one of their delicious items. All the girls are really nice too. read more

If I could give this place a zero star I most definitely would. The bathrooms were disgusting water on the floor and no toilet paper, I mean that's a bit lame. The real kicker was about how I was so excited to try my cinnamon roll only to find it drier than the Sahara desert. I mentioned it to the girl at the counter only to be told in the most boring monotone voice "Okay". I didn't dare to ask about anything else in the case as there were many flies around the products, you should probably fix this and maybe talk to that girl about her sucky attitude and driving away customers. I've never had to give a bad review to anyone before, but this place was just not okay. First, when we walked in the employees were having a personal conversation as we were standing there at the register waiting, completely ignoring us. Then when we were finally able to take our order, the employee didn't give me the time of day and was very short with me. We ordered 3 donuts and an americano. Our "americano" was not made with espresso, it was just house drip coffee and was very cold. Coffee made way earlier that morning I assume. Then once we got home and started to eat our donuts we noticed a fruit fly on our donut, but not just on the donut, the fly was frosted into it. I ordered two pizzas for pick up, and was told it would take around 15-20 minutes. I got there to pick them up and they weren't quite ready yet, but the two lady's were very apologetic and friendly. They gave me a free donut to make up for the wait, not that I was upset, I understand that things can get hectic. The donut and pizza was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. I got a Hawaiian pizza as well as a fantastic breakfast pizza. read more

It's nice having a bakery in town. Prices are a little higher but great quality pastries, muffins, cinnamon rolls, and cookies. Staff seem friendly but still need a little bit more training on service and greeting customers with a smile. read more

When I went in for the 1st time , everything looked so good. Everything made from scratch, in house. I finally decided on the almond joy cinnamon roll, That's a cinnamon roll with cream cheese frosting, chocolate sauce, coconut, and shaved almonds. OMG! I've never tasted anything like it. So so so good. Talk about being in heaven. Definitely 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!!! read more
