If I could give Jefferson on the Lake zero stars, I would. I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding this past summer, and unfortunately, it was one of the most poorly managed and unprofessional venues I've ever encountered. Upon arrival--at the exact time we were instructed to be there--there were no staff members on site to prepare the venue. The bride and bridal party were left to figure things out on their own. The tablecloths provided were wrinkled beyond belief, clearly having been stored in garbage bags and not even minimally steamed or pressed for presentation. The outdoor ceremony setup was equally unacceptable. Just 1-2 days prior, the groundskeepers had laid fresh mulch, leaving the entire space smelling strongly of manure. Guests had to endure the odor while watching the bride walk down the aisle flanked by dollar-store-quality fake flowers. To make matters worse, a large hole in the fencing behind the ceremony site--clearly visible to guests--was brought to the venue's attention at the rehearsal and the bride and groom specifically asked that it be repaired. It never was. It remained a major eyesore in every ceremony photo. Staff finally arrived about an hour before the wedding began. But instead of helping with critical last-minute details like steaming linens or assisting the bridal party, they chose to focus on washing down the walkways to remove an excessive amount of goose feces. Despite their efforts, the droppings remained in many areas--causing stains on dresses and even trapping the bride's veil to the ground during her entrance. Shockingly, the staff also thought it was appropriate to begin painting walls--yes, painting--just minutes before the bridal party was supposed to walk down the aisle. It was a last-ditch effort to cover up the deteriorating condition of the venue and left everyone speechless. It may sound exaggerated--but I truly wish I were making this up. The cocktail hour was just as chaotic. Bar lines were incredibly long due to a lack of experienced bartenders, and appetizers were served without plates--only napkins. Among a very limited spread of cheese and crackers sat a random bowl of chocolate Raisinettes, seemingly tossed in from a bulk container at BJ's. All of these issues combined took away from what should have been joyful moments. The bride and groom lost nearly an hour of their scheduled photography time due to these preventable mistakes and delays. No couple should have to endure this level of unprofessionalism on their wedding day. Jefferson on the Lake has a long way to go if it wants to be taken seriously as a wedding venue. I strongly urge future couples to reconsider booking here. read more

On the Jungle Love show last Saturday, despite the fact that Jefferson on the lake had collected $25/head from over 200 people , many of whom had travelled good distances in lousy weather to be there to see Jungle Love, which is one of the best cover band in HV! The host left 250 people outside in the rain ,the musicians gear got soaked , the fans fans got ripped off and the person who said he was the owner said "he does not want the musicians snd their fans to come back!!! By all accounts, the food was awful, the service was even worst. A total disregard and disrespect for musicians as internal customers, and more-so to his patrons -- Don't get too attached to this place.... It won't be around long. And, please, don't throw any sort of parties there, let alone a wedding! They have zero regard for their customers read more

Absolutely awful! No Riesling, no White Zinfandel so I settled for a sangria -tasted like cough syrup. The menu is very limited. Like the selection if you were planning a wedding. I ordered the chicken Franchese with cavatelli. The cavatelli were under cooked and so little it was under the chicken and I didn't see it. The chicken was eggy. Almost like French toast made with chicken vs bread. My friend got the fettuccine and asked not they could out broccoli in it. They did. It was so salty it was almost inedible. There were about 6 florettes of broccoli. The check came and they tried to charge $8 for the broccoli. We complained and they took it of the check. There was another table behind us and their experience was not much better. They won't be going back either. There was a couple in front of us that got up and left while they were placing their order. It was hoping to like it but it was just plain awful! Please forgive the typos. I was a bridesmaid in my brothers wedding on Oct 7th 2023 and i would not feel right not explaining my experience considering this is wedding venue. If you care about your wedding going smoothly I advise not booking here. The absolute carelessness of the venue completely tainted that memory of mine forever. We got to the venue in high spirits excited and confident in the venue the bride and groom praised from the beginning. We went to walk in and was greeted by a locked door and nobody answering the phone. Wedding timelines are a big deal and multiple phone calls with no answer later I began feeling a bit worried about the day ahead of us. Finally we got ahold of someone who was able to open the doors for us. He opened the door and then we were left on our own to walk into the disaster ahead of us. Walking into the bridal suite I immediately noticed a stench and then looked into the room and my jaw dropped. There was leftover food all over. Half eaten pastas, empty drinks, qtips. Used bobby-pins all over the floor. The mirrors were smeared and everything was disgusting. There was nobody around to help us. There wasn't even garbage cans to clean things up. Eventually we decided to suck it up and figure out a solution so the bride didn't have to see it. Me my mom and my sister proceeded to gag as we carry the half eaten food to the grooms sweet for the time being wiped down the tables and mirrors and proceeded to clean as much as we could. It was not the ideal morning I had of my brothers wedding. Instead of enjoying the morning we had stress hanging over our shoulders about how we were going to get rid of the food now that it was in my brothers room. The first time I saw my brother on his wedding day I didn't see excitement I saw stress and disgust. Moving onto the set up it was a disaster my fiance was running around trying to clean and my brothers friends were setting up the reception. The wedding planner was nowhere to be found until after everything was pretty much done. She was absolutely no help. Nobody told us when to walk down the aisle. The cocktail hour I spent hearing about how there was not enough food for everyone. The whole thing was so unorganized it was embarrassing I had to tell multiple employees to help with something as they were standing around. Nobody told us when to walk in during the reception. Everything about that day was a disgrace. I ended the day emotionally exhausted. This was a wedding. Not just dinner out. You can't just redo it. This is a memory that will stick with me for the rest of my life. read more

Must try them at least once. Since they are still new, they are working out a few kinks, but I feel like if people are patient and offer helpful suggestions to the management, this place can only improve on what I found to be a pleasant experience. The place is beautifully decorated and very classy and elegant to have a nice dinner or even an event. The food is delicious and we were happily surprised to have antipasto and Limoncello, which is homemade, given on the house. There are still growing pains with the waitstaff who are learning to be top notch servers, but ours did do his best to provide all of the finishing touches to make this a high end meal experience without exorbitant menu prices. One of the owners even came over to see how everything was and asked if we had any suggestions for ways in which they can improve so I believe he is sincerely wanting and trying to make this business a success and what his customers are looking for. Everything in life is a learning curve, so please give them a chance and help a local business thrive! read more

It's absolutely terrible. Went there to see a band at this outdoor venue, and the venue did not prepare for the crowd of over 200 people or the weather to ensure a safe environment for the patrons and the entertainment. First, the place is not ADA compliant. I found out that guests who needed a walker had to get a refund because I could not access the area of the venue where the entertainment was being held. For some odd reason, despite the day long forecast, the venue negligently lee decided not to put the sides up on the tent. The monsoon rains came in and on one side of the tent poured down onto the guests, splashing them, their food, and their tables so badly that they up and left. That rain then proceeds to form streams of water throughout the tent, causing a very slippery and dangerous environment on the concrete floor and steep stone steps used to exit. The l8ghtening wad also crazy and no protection from that. I believe probably the worst thing is what happened to the band when their equipment was destroyed by the rain as it came in so fast that we couldn't get the equipment down before it had stopped working. We watched rain water flow through the tent and under the drum set and other electronic equipment. Luckily, we were able to get it unplugged before somebody got electrocuted. Then, to find out that they shorted the band makes me sick. The owners did not provide a safe environment for anyone. And then they want the band to take the hit after they collected over $6000 in just money for the buffet and that did not include what they made off of the cash bar. Not to mention that they didn't have to feed us for 3 hours of the evening because everyone left. Here are their violations... Wow... you beat me to it. Here's some items that were in violation.... The venue is a public assembly. 1) No accessible route to an assembly space. 2) No accessible route to restroom facilities. 3) Obstructing an exit path. (Food serving stations in the exit way.) 4) No emergency plan for weather conditions and/or failure or refusal to give direction or assist the public. 5) Failure to maintain area free from hazards. (They had items to mitigate hazards from rain. This would be the tent walls.) Stay away!!! read more

Made a reservation for a Tuesday night for a birthday dinner through Opentable. Received 2 confirmations. When we arrived the place was dark and it wasn't open. I checked their website and called the restaurant number but it was no longer in service. There was another car in the lot and the driver said the owner was on their way. So we waited to speak with the owner. Turns out they changed their hours and are no longer open on Tuesdays but they never updated their website or Opentable. She said we could come back on Wednesday which we did not do since Tuesday was my actual birthday. We were trying to eat local to help out local business'. It's hard when they don't help by updating their hours. Can't really leave a review but we were frustrated by this and had to find somewhere else to go last minute. read more

Terrible over all! The food tastes awful. No white wine. Drinks very expensive. Far too many stairs. Elderly or handicapped in anyway, would have difficulty getting to or from the pavilion or the rest rooms. NO toilet paper in the ladies room! Staff not friendly. High priced and definitely not diner friendly. The $25.00 entrance fee for buffet and music is a RIP off.The buffet is a joke! The Only Good part of the event was the bands! But, beware! Pavilion floor very slippery when wet. And tent is not rain proof! Stairs dangerous in any kind of weather. Save your money and time. Go elsewhere. read more

My husband and I decided to try out Jefferson on the Lake for our Easter meal. The place looks lovely and the scenery was beautiful. However the employees/servers were unsure of how to work in a restaurant. As a designer I am familiar with how seating should be done. They had tables set up so 2 people saw the view and 2 people looked at a wall...needs some improvement there. We ordered mozzarella caprese for an appetizer.... tomatoes had no taste & mozzarella was hard not fresh. I must say that my Chicken Franchese was very well done but my husband's rib eye steak left a lot to be desired. It didn't even look like rib eye. We decided not to stay for coffee and dessert, but the waiter brought us two mimosas, they were left over from that days brunch and they were warm...ugh. So sorry to have to leave a review like this, we will not be going back. read more
