I'll start with this first the wait staff were a 5 star group very energetic and just great ladies. I got the double dip wings while they were good they really were not spicy and being the second hottest on their scale I didn't feel like I should have to pay for additional sauce. The chips that came with the wings actually overwhelmed the plate look and to me they were stale and had a funny taste. I will try their wings again but with the size I'll probably need to get 10. I did get fried pickle appetizer they were good but could have used more breading and I'm used to a spicier breading but they were good. The decor was good several TVs and a wide selection was on them. Overall even with me hitting a three star the staff and general over all I'll try them again. read more

I came in to place an order to go. I was told to go to the bar so I went to the bar and waited here for 10 minutes. Finally went back to the hostess station and said you have no bartender to take my order. The lady said oh yeah she's there. She's just waiting on tables. There's only two of us so then when the lady came and waited on me real rude real disrespectful not engaging. The food looks good. Haven't tried it yet. Right now. I'm just so upset with the customer service And customer service is what will take me away if the lady can't greet me and can't be kind and respectful why would I give my service to them? So right now out of a 10 I'd probably give it a three just on horrible customer service and that is from the lady that is supposed to be bartending and helping to go orders. Also, the music is way too loud not that old 40s and to me the music is really loud. You can't hear conversation with your people that are with you or the wait staff that's waiting on you. The absolute worst service from a "manager." After receiving the wrong order, I returned the wrong food they gave me (15 minute drive each way). I asked to have the food replaced so that I would not leave with the order that had been sitting there for 25 minutes only to have the "manager" yell across the bar at me, "a please would be nice." The music was so loud it was hard to hear anything. So I went over to her and tried to talk to her but it didn't seem that anything was her fault. I typically enjoy the food and service. Went with some friends and had an alright time. Was pleasantly surprised that they had an arcade for the kids in the basement with a monitor/camera broadcasting upstairs. That allowed us parents to keep an eye on them but continue our conversations upstairs. Service was attentive at first but started to slow once food was ordered. Appetizer came out quickly but the rest of the meal seemed to take a while. They weren't overly busy and the staff seemed to be hanging around in enough numbers that I didn't see a lack of help. First thing - the wings are done if the best I have had! Meaty and crispy! I like mine naked with sauce on the side and these did not disappoint. The buffalo sauce was great but I really loved the mango habenero (always my fave anymore) The salad was fresh & crisp - ranch is fresh too. All basic food stuff and done really well. The facility is interesting as it seems to want to be a bar but lots of windows & family-style. So I think I like it because it's not so 'typical' I want to try more, especially burgers. One Word: Lackluster Pros: We ordered wings and decided on the Asian Zinger for our sauce. This was pretty good. My husband ordered the chicken sandwich but it looked like nothing on the menu or website... I mean, nothing. As though they created something out of the blue in the back.... tasted okay. He asked for potato salad, he got fries. Simple fix, no biggie. The potato salad was good. We also had corn nuggets; I've had better. Cons: Too many people working and nobody knows what's going on. We were sitting near a couple that was sat at a table. They waited... they waited..... so after about 15 minutes, I decided to flag someone down to take these people's order and the guy looked annoyed that he had to help them. Ok.... I kinda felt like the service as a whole put a damper on the experience for me. The food was simply okay. I am not rushing back and frankly, I wouldn't even suggest this place as an option even if I am on this side of town. Stopped in after the lunch crowd on 10/23. A hostess handed us dirty menus and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks from the bar and 2 sandwiches with fries. After a couple of bites of my sandwich, I started on my fries. Picking up the third or fourth fry revealed a crispy critter on one of the fries. I inspected it closer and called the waitress. She apologized and headed to the kitchen. My husband, having ordered a fried chicken sandwich with fries, immediately stopped eating his as well. The manager came to our table, apologized and said he would take my meal off the bill, and take 25% off of my husband's meal. Wonder if the manager went back to check the frying oil or if he let them continue using it for the next batch for fried food. Wish I'd taken pictures. WE WON'T BE BACK. BTW. Absolutely the worst experience ever!!! Should be zero stars!! It took us 5 minutes to be seen at the front. The waitress asked us booth or table, I said it doesn't matter. She asked a waitress if she wanted us and she shook her head no. What?? Should have known then to leave, but we were seated. 10 minutes later our order was taken. 15 minutes later no food, no water, no drinks. The waitress came by to let us know that the Coors would be right out and that the bartender was new but was trying to figure out how to make a grey goose with tonic and lime. OMG!! I really wanted to love the Jefferson's in Topeka, but they have some work to do. Things there are definitely fine, but could be better. The service is on the okay side for the most part. Nothing to brag about, but nothing to complain about either. The food has been fairly mediocre the couple of times I've gone. Fries were underdone, burgers were way overdone, and the double dipped wings didn't really taste like they do in Lawrence. I've been a huge fan of the Lawrence location, so I have hope that they can iron some things out with this new location. Landed at Jefferson's after our regular round of Wednesday golf. We were greeted immediately and seated without delay. Our server was prompt and our initial drink orders were handled promptly. Our server was very helpful in offering suggestions and describing menu items in response to our questions. We ordered the Ultimate cheese fries for starters and enjoyed it completely. I had the Bacon Chicken Ranch Wrap with a side of Cole slaw. The wrap was well made with lots of chicken and an extreme amount of bacon, much to my liking. My playing partner ordered a Guacamole Bacon Burger with fries. He indicated that it was spicy but to his liking. For dessert I had the fudge Brownie and it was great. We also enjoyed watching the wait staff make a fuss over some children who wanted to post their dollar on the wall. Great fun and family friendly. read more

We were excited to try Jefferson's, but were disappointed. The menu itself was actually dirty. That was a clue that we should have just headed back to the car. It didn't get better; only worse. There was dried food on the knife I was brought. There was dried ketchup on the outside of the ketchup bottle. The silverware they bring you has been used with your food, as my fork was slid under my Philly cheesesteak and when I picked it up it had Philly cheesesteak on it. Ugh! I first went to Jefferson's when it was in Lawrence, so I was STOKED when they opened the Topeka location!! Tried and true, the fried pickles are AMAZING. They came out hot and crispy and never greasy. I was going to get my usual (the chicken strips because they're a classic and always amazing), but my favorite Regan talked me out of it and suggested the double dipped sandwich. I've sat at her bar MANY MANY TIMES but that was her best recommendation yet! As always, Regan did an exceptional job, making sure I never had an empty beer or water and that I left overly full. My coworkers and I like to order wings on "wing wednesday". Today we ordered them and got charged full price because we ordered them online. The special only applies when you dine in or order on the phone (this is what I was told by the manager), this is BS because when you call the restuarant, the answering machine or whatever tells you to order online. Stopped in this new Jefferson's in Topeka to try it out, since we have never tried before. Very laid back sports bar family vibe. It is their soft opening, so really expected a few bumps in the road. Not at all. We were seated in bar high table area as the place was packed. The bartender was also our server. Great young man and very attentive. Wife had the Patty Melt and fries and I went with the Fried Oyster Basket and fries. Wife said her patty melt was delicious. The oysters were huge and fried perfectly. Fries are a large crinkle cut and really good. I also tried the mild wings bone in. Not a very big wing but good flavor even with the mild sauce. Came with Blue Cheese or Ranch. Overall great place to enjoy different menu choices to the area. And great service. Will definitely be back soon. read more

Service was good. Chicken is great in all the forms but the fried oysters were a little soft, like they had been in the window for a while. Kids had a great time decorating dollar bills for the wall. Fast food feel with Sit-Down restaurant prices. Wings were small, overcooked and flavorless. Shrimp was way oversalted.. came in 1.5 hours before close and felt like we were in the way of them getting out of there for the night. Just not the experience i would expect when paying $50 for a meal for two. There are a much better wing places in Topeka than this.. super disappointed. read more
