I checked this place out because I was in the mood for catfish and Yelp said they had catfish, well, they don't have catfish but they do have some tasted Fish bites! Lightly battered delicious white fish that melted in my mouth! This is your typical small bar & grill with that hometown feeling, inside and outside seating with several TVs to watch all your games and matches on. The Bartender was very welcoming and helped me as soon as I sat at the bar. Definitely a mother daughter team behind the bar ensuring everyone was happy keeping their glasses topped off. Great bar food. Tuesdays and Thursdays are both Taco & burrito days. So good! Fridays are Chili Cheese Dogs. Yum! Check out the cheeseburgers and they alsolutely have the best gizzards in town. Nice neighborhood bar and grill that's been around for years. A few of my buddies stopped in for after golf lunch and beers the other day. A really good look and super friendly waitress. My bros enjoyed their reuben and smoked Turkey sandwiches, but I was disappointed to learn that my fish & chips was made from swai (a junk imported farm raised fish with dicey reputation). Also, we all agreed that their fries (chips in this case) are not great. Very dark in color, saturated in oil and soggy. Anyway, the vibe was good, beer was cold and I think there are some good menu items to try on future visits. read more

Ok my husband and I love to go to the Goose on Tuesdays and Thursdays as it is a special on Mexican food. After going to almost every Mexican restaurant in Topeka, I must say the Goose makes the best. I love the taco salad as they deep fry the bowl and the filling is perfect. Nice neighborhood bar and grill. We sat outside on a beautiful evening. They offered a few local beers and we chose two different IPAs that each had its own high points. Then we ordered the Friday fish special. Tasty catfish with hand-cut fries and slaw. It was all good except I'm not a fan of their vinegar-forward slaw. My wife likes it though. For sitting outside, we had very good service. We'll go back for a drink or sandwich. read more

Was in Topeka and I love spicy food andb hamburgers. Saw that they had a burger called the Serrano Inferno and I had to give it a try. Added some bacon, because.. well... Bacon. They really loaded up on the habanero! I was looking for a spicy burger, and it was definitely, extremely hot. The meat itself may not have been my favorite, but it's probably the spiciest burger I've ever had. Definitely worth the try. Staff was great.. they kept asking me about the burger and how I was doing. I think they were actually a bit worried about me, but no need. :) If you love spicy burgers, give it a whirl. Passing through Topeka and with the help of YELP we stumbled onto the Glazed Goose. What a great neighborhood sports bar/eatery. Our waitress, Hannah L, was especially helpful when we asked for food suggestions. She was right on recommending the fish tacos. She said on average people order two, but the tacos were so good I wished I had ordered three...which says a lot. My husband enjoyed the Rueben. No dessert offerings now, but I'd bet they'd be fantastic if the owners decide to include some on the menu. Would definite stop here again if we are traveling through Topeka. Food was ok, but service was not great. The main server was training someone and the trainee was clueless. We ordered mozzarella sticks expecting them to arrive soon because we were one of the three groups at the restaurant, and I now get why. The food was okay, but it shouldn't take 20 mins to make mozzarella sticks when there are 10 people in the build. I forgot to mention that there was only 2 waiters working. Anyway, we all finally ordered our meals after eating our mozzarella sticks, which were pretty good. We all ordered burgers and probably waited 40 minutes for them. Cool , little, bar with an awesome staff. Five of us stopped by for a quick lunch. The waitress were super nice and were very attentive. I had the classic club and it was delicious. The toasted was buttered and the meat was deli quality. Two of my friends had this atomic bomb of a burger seasoned with ghost peppers, serrano peppers, and some other crazy hot stuff. It torched them but they loved it. Both commented that the burger still had a great flavor despite being miserably spicy. At the end of the meal, the chef even stopped by the table to chat and check on our meals. Good people, good food, be sure to stop by! read more

Apps were good (stuffed mushrooms, fried pickles, and motz sticks). Tried the gorilla burger and wasn't impressed. All I could taste in the burger was the tomato and onion. When you make a burger and can't make the flavor of the meat stand out, is it really a burger? Atmosphere was nice. Might give it another shot but there's better bars in town that I'd venture to before trying Glazed Goose again. read more

This is one of the best bars to go to and Topeka. The owners always make you feel like family and greet everyone at the door. It is a very clean bar with great service staff. The food is exceptional and way better than typical bar food. If you ever get a chance order the smothered burrito it is phenomenal. We were making a fast trip to Topeka and needed a place to get dinner. This was close and sounded like an adventure. It was wonderful! 12/16/17: Service and food were great. We arrived at 6:30pm to watch both the KU and Chiefs game. They were very accommodating and friendly, by they I mean the waitresses. After being there for almost 5 hours we were informed they closed at midnight. We said ok...we have about an hour left. About 15 mins later I was given my check and the waitress said check it to make sure it's correct. I went over it. There were 7 of us there total through out the entire time we were there. When we first arrived my husband ordered a double screwdriver in a tall glass. Once that was gone the kind waitress asked if he wanted another. To which he got another. One of our friends changed his order to a screwdriver as well...however, only a single. Once he did this my husband's screwdrivers became singles as well. He had 4 more and we all ordered several shots and food also. I checked our receipt and it showed everything correct except for there were 6 double screwdrivers. I kindly told the waitress that he had 2 doubles and 4 singles. I overheard the bartender (who I was informed was a customer filling in) swear she poured doubles. There was no consistency, the color was different. I tasted them both and clearly one was a double (a perfectly poured double by the way) and the rest single. The waitress then came back to the table and let me know that she has no way to edit the ticket. That the owners were not there and she had no way of getting a hold of them. I asked her to call them, it's their bar and if they cannot leave codes with you then they need to fix this. I ended up, after repeating to them what I heard the bartender saying about covering it and explaining it tomorrow, just paying for it. I still tipped because in the long run it was not her fault it was the fill in bartender who wasn't willing to admit her mistake or offer to fix it. I unfortunately do not think I will be back. Both because of the cost and the fact they close at midnight, but you get pushed out 30 mins before and the bartender (at least the one we had) was not consistent at all and would not accept any failure on her part. It's clean. The waitress was nice and the bar food was good bar food. The drinks were expensive and inconsistent. I also find it to be in bad management that they leave 3 employees alone on a Saturday night with no way to edit or change a ticket once placed in the system. Everyone needs to try this place!! The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is delicious, and the entire staff is friendly and responsive to each and everyone's needs. I've eaten here several times and I always order something different from the time before. Each dish is prepared to perfection!
