This vet is not recommended by me or my family- they do not care about you or your animals- all they care about is the price tag above your sick pet's head. EDIT: we ended up going to another vet and they said that she just had a very bad UTI. if we did not get that second opinion, we would've ended up putting our dog to sleep. The second vet ran the exact same test and was able to tell us what was wrong with her almost immediately. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

The vet techs/assistants are just as caring and compassionate as the docs. The office is small, with no actual waiting area, so you phone them from your car and wait to be called inside. The exam rooms (entire building) are older and in dire need of updating (dated wallpaper, flooring, dusty and cluttered shelving), but newer equipment is present. I feel the place could use a deep cleaning and some cosmetic changes. However, what the office lacks in appearance, it more than makes up for with compassionate, knowledgeable veterinarians and staff. I will take that trade off any day! The office is located on Main Street in the heart of 'Historic Middletown.' There are 6-7 parking spaces in the front of the building, but street parking is also available up and down the street.

Prior to the appointment, my bird appeared healthy, active, vocal, and behaved completely normally. She had received annual veterinary exams and routine grooming throughout her life without complications. During the appointment, my bird was taken to the treatment area. Less than a minute later, I heard a loud scream, followed by silence. A short time afterward, I was informed that she was in distress and was asked whether I knew she had heart problems. To my knowledge, she had never been diagnosed with any heart condition. When I was brought into the treatment room, my baby was unresponsive. A staff member appeared to be performing chest compressions while Dr. Roppel stood beside the table. I did not observe monitoring equipment being used. My bird did not survive. I later obtained an independent necropsy. The pathologist did not identify a definitive cause of death or any abnormalities that explained why an apparently healthy bird died during a routine examination. Because of the circumstances, I filed a complaint with the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners for review. My baby was a beloved member of our family for eight years, and her loss has been devastating. I encourage bird owners to ask detailed questions about avian experience, handling procedures, monitoring practices, and emergency protocols before entrusting their birds to any veterinary clinic. UPDATE: the clinic blocked me at Facebook. Please don't bring your birds there!!!

Ever since I took my cockatiel here, he has had injury to his wings and I've been out of pocket a lot of money because of broken blood feathers. He had another one break at the shaft yesterday and I had to rush him to shively. The doctor came in and said "who cut his wings?" I told him and he literally said "do not go back there." They said it's common knowledge how to trim wings being an avian vet and they cut them completely wrong, and this is why he keeps having blood feathers break." They were messed up bad and he was in pain. The doctor at stonefield cut all the wrong ones and his wings have been messed up ever since. I have to spend another $200 in 2 weeks so they can try to repair the damage caused. The assistant as well grabbed him very hard and I called about that, and never got a call back. Luckily my conure hasn't had her wings clipped here. I'm sure I'd be dealing with the same issues. Never again!

We adopted a dog that the previous owner was unable to care for appropriately. Because of some…read moreproblems getting his shot records, we opted to go to Dixie Animal Hospital where the previous owner had taken him. It is a little bit of a drive for us, but as it turned out, it was worth the drive. Our dog is a little skittish and afraid of other dogs even though he is larger than most even as a puppy, so they let us take him right from the parking lot to a waiting room - an option a lot of other places don't have/offer. Because he barked at the vet assistant who came to take him to the Doc for shots, they had us put a muzzle on him (not a problem). By the time he received his shots and cam back to us the muzzle was gone. He made the vet his friend and all was right with the world even though he needed several shots. Because he went to the same vet where he had been treated before, they could use his history to guide the shots he was given, otherwise we would have had to start at zero. We have his updated shot records and he is ready to go. Parking is more than adequate, but there isn't a lot of grass to let your dog (or other pet) relieve him/herself before walking in the door. Ours spend his time sniffing, but thankfully had no accidents. Its a big place and they have a pet shop with pet supplies (not pets for sale as far as I am aware) in the building adjacent to the waiting room. And we were also able to get his monthly meds (heartworm, flea/tick) when we checked out. Everyone was great, prices were good, and our pet was not traumatized by the experience. It is a little out of the way for us which is why they only earned 4 stars. They really were great!

I'm paying at the desk when they break the news that I have to bring her back in 3 weeks (at another $70 plus a $45 visit fee) for the 'boosters.' That's not the way you do business. 2. Got home and realized they hadn't bothered to give me the paper prescription, which was the only reason we'd gone in the first place. It is against their policy, in this the 21st century, to 'do' prescriptions by email, fax, phone, scan, text, or smoke signal, and it'll be a $10 fee for them to get one of their doctors to waste his time scribbling a paper prescription. After I've driven all the way back. Luckily, a friend showed me a site where I can get the meds mailed to me at excellent prices without these vets signing off. Godsend! Meds on their way already. NOT going back. Fine doctors, asinine policies, scurrilous fees and charges heaped on every other minute. And ... they do NOT like to be challenged. I'll share this review every place I can think of.

Our dogs range in ages from 8 months old to 17 years old. Not only does she excel at keeping all of our littles well taken care of with care that's tailored to each of their individual needs, but she also works with training them, she sends us several daily reports with photos and videos, she's always available for us to get ahold of if needed, she gets our mail and packages, she keeps our house safe and clean, and the icing on the cake is that she spoils our babies with LOTS of love! Michelle has taken them out for adventures, car rides, walks, pup cups, the list could go on and on! Most recently our 17 year old shihpoo became sick with stomach issues while we were out of town and Michelle gave her genuine mother's love! The fence install and training took between 8-9 hours. They mentioned that if I had any questions or needed any help to call. We couldn't be happier, we have 3 dogs of which 2 had been on a wireless pet safe fence which meant they could only go within 90 foot of the transmitter. They actually have to be trained that they can go farther. Tonight we took them two dogs, Bear and Domino, around the property and I can't believe how excited Bear was, he wagged his tail and pranced with excitement the whole time and when he seen the flags he didn't want to get any closer to them. Domino is more of a scaredy cat and I will have to coax him out of the old zone frequently this week till he gets use to it. They both remembered the flags from 5+ years ago with the pet safe fence. It really showed me how smart they was! I'm so happy that now Bear, Hollie, and Domino gets run of the whole 9 acres, not a 180' circle! I'm thrilled with the warranty, and that it's made in the USA.
