So, in my last visit I had an EMG and EEG. The EMG was to determine if a neurological issues was causing me to choke on food. Nothing was found. My EEG was to determine why I suffer chronic migraines. Again found nothing. His diagnosis? "Maybe you're just depressed. I suggest you find a good therapist" Fast forward. I went to see the NP at my Dr office. She asked what results I got from the Neurologist. I told her and explained what he told me about seeing a therapist. She sent me to radiology where they have found a few things and waiting on more results. She said she would make a note NOT to send future patients to Levin. So glad to hear that no more of the patients at my doc's office won't have to deal with his bs attitude. read more

Update: He diagnosed me with epilepsy. Put me on medication and suspended my license for a year. He told me I wasn't smart enough to get into college and told me to get out. I went to a new neurologist and he ran tests and said it was not epilepsy and that it was hypoglycemia. He then signed my papers and I was on my way. He listened to me and ask multiple questions and was very kind. Can't believe I wasted my time with levin. read more

He kept interrupting me and only spent 5 minutes with us and he was talking about his life stories which was irrelevant to our purpose of going to a neurologist. He asked a lot of questions that were personal and wasted our time when that time could've been spent listening to my questions/concerns. I went there with my sick mother looking for answers, but got none at all! We had to wait two hours for him and he left the room while I was desperately asking questions. My wife's appointment was yesterday, 10/22/18. If I could give this condescending, dismissive and arrogant prick zero stars, I would do that but you are required to give at least one star even to the most pathetic of physicians. We were made to wait over two hours in the waiting room and were then escorted to an exam room where we waited for another 30 minutes. At one point, my wife asked me if everyone had left the building because we heard no sounds for approximately 15 minutes. I opened the door to the exam room and found no one in the hallway and yelled out "hello?" and a medical assistant came out of the doctors personal office stating "yes? We are still here" My wife and I sat for another 10 minutes and could hear the doctor slowly shuffling towards the exam room. Dr. Levin never bothered to actually enter the exam room but stuck his head in the door. His treatment of my wife was verbally condescending and dismissive. At one point, he actually asked my wife "do you want me to throw away your films or just give them to you?". When I questioned him about the differences in medications he was considering, he arrogantly told me "I already told you once, but I will tell you again." We will never return to his office for anything. If you are considering seeing this "physician" for any treatment, you would be better off seeking it from someone outside the medical profession. read more

This Doctor is totally unprofessional, rude, does not even look at your chart. He is negligent and a liar. He makes assumptions and is totally unaware of the facts of why you are there. He did an EMG on me on the wrong part of my body. Did a tiny primary neurological assessment and I failed the one he did miserably. I am totally aware of the process of seeing a new neurologist I was born with a seizure condition. I was in shock on how he treated me. He would not make eye contact, asked very little questions, did not want any information from me. It was humiliating as he did the EMG on the wrong area and kept asking me questions about my deceased husband ex wife and children claiming to distract me to see if it helped. I had someone drive me there because I was told not to drive by my primary. The person that took me is acting as care taker for me right now. He told her ( because she asked) that I cannot handle stress and it was all in my head as he took his hand and did the coo coo sign next to his head. He was totally dismissive, condescending, and negligent. I left speechless, humiliated and discouraged. I will be making a complaint to the medical board responsible for monitoring Doctors. My man was a Doctor and I am very knowledgable about appropriate conduct. This Doctor is a hazard. He said he would order a MRI but we won't find anything. Very impertinent and humiliating behavior and words. I only put one star so I could comment. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. He kept me waiting one hour for a 9:00 a.m. appointment. He came into the room, glanced at my medical files and disagreed with a diagnosis I have had for 8 years. He interrupted me every time I tried to ask a question and seem very perturbed when I questioned his diagnosis (which he proclaimed after spending 10 minutes with me). He talked over me and tried to make me feel unimportant and not knowledgeable about my condition. I was not having any of that. After 20 minutes, I thanked him and said that he is not the right doctor for me. He did not say a single word, he just walked out and slammed the door behind him. He is rude and arrogant. I don't know what kind of chip this guy has on the shoulder, but he should not be allowed to practice medicine. Our daughter was referred to his clinic for seizure testing. The results came back negative, yet he had the audacity to report her to the DMV for "loss of consciousness", of which there has been non. Where does he get off on reporting inaccurate information? As a result our daughter's license will be revoked right before her 21st birthday. What an unjustified slap in the face, by this unprofessional, so called doctor. As a result her livelihood and independence have been stripped from her, just like that, in one fell swoop, for no legitimate reason. She won't be able to get to work, as there is virtually no public transportation where we live and riding a bike on the hilly terrain or on the highway is not an option. He rushed in to the room, looked at my son and began insulting him!!! The wife was recommended by a surgeon at Stanford to see Dr. Levin for a test, which required that our primary care doctor send information to get the appointment made. However, Levin's office staff has lost the referral. TWICE. We confirmed with our doctor's staff that the fax was sent. Yes, fax... They still use fax in 2019 -- as it provides positive proof that the fax is delivered -- that's how we know it got to Dr. Levin's office. Dr. Levin's office staff can only say "We added your forms to his HUGE stack of papers on his desk" -- where it apparently magically disappears time after time.... We are fairly disappointed at the lack of the office staff's ability to perform their jobs in a competent manner. The doctor may be the best in Modesto at what he does; but his office staff needs to figure out the long lost art of managing "paper". I have no idea at all why we're actually going to try a THIRD time -- but we did... If this was an actual "cut 'em open type doctor" -- we would not have tried the second time. Will update in due course. UPDATE 06/12/2019 Called the DR's office this AM, and finally the paperwork went thru, and we got an appointment. whew!... One of the rudest, most condescending and unprofessional physicians I've ever met. I had an appointment for 12:30 pm last month and I arrived 30 minutes early, as I usually do. After sitting in the lobby for an hour, a very attractive pharmaceutical representative entered the office and asked the front desk to inform Dr. Levin that she was there. She was escorted in to his office and I sat in the lobby another 90 minutes (now 2 hours after my scheduled appointment time). I was finally taken to an exam room where I waited another 45 minutes until the Doctor finally entered. I asked him if it was common practice for him to keep a patient waiting hours past their scheduled appointment time so that he could entertain a drug rep? He became red and posited that "I didn't know what I was talking about". He then proceeded to conduct a very painful test that I had done multiple times previously that I'd already stated at the visit before I wouldn't participate in again. He then began to verbally berate me about my "lack of compliance" pertaining to medications that HE wanted me to take even though I informed him I had had adverse reactions to these medications in the past and therefore no longer utilized them. He became very flippant, said he was referring me to UCSF since, " you're refusing to do anything I'm suggesting". He then also stated that he should contact the DMV to have my license revoked as he determined in the ten minutes he spent with me that I was an unsafe driver???!!!! A few days later, I get the letter from DMV stating I needed physical exams to determine if I could keep my license with a 2 week window, during holiday weeks. $60 out of pocket to fight it and YES I was cleared by THREE real, professional doctors. This doctor has a horrible reputation with not only patients but also other medical Doctors and their staff. Nothing but negative about how condescending he is and keeps patients waiting inordinate amounts of time. I want everyone to know this Doctor is not worth your time or efforts. He should retire and be something he's more suited for, like a store mannequin because honestly, he lacks any semblance of professionalism or tact. Had I not feared legal reprisal, I would have drove to his office and confronted him in person for being a complete jackass and inconveniencing me and my family by having to fight his recommendation to DMV. I know that he did indeed facilitate it because it was not confidential information and DMV readily supplied me with physical proof of what he attempted. His name and signature. Run, don't walk away from this poser. The experience I had at the hands of (this so-called Dr.) Levin was a nightmare. After the extended wait time of over 2 hours, the doctor came into the room, spoke at me for about 3 minutes then told me I had Parkinson's disease. This is a life-changing diagnosis and he was incredibly rude, flippant and uncaring. He never asked me any questions about my state of mind, other health issues or why I was there. I had been going through a very difficult divorce and my hands were shaking. After his 3-minute evaluation of my condition, he gave me a pamphlet and showed me the door. I came home and started planning my suicide, as all my coping mechanisms were completely drained and I felt all hope was gone. Finally I reported the incident to my insurance company and asked my PCP for another referral. Of course, the second opinion doctor could see no evidence of Parkinson's disease; only that I had minor tremors in my hands and the lingering PTSD from the divorce. This guy is a clear danger to his patients. Had I not gone to the second physician for another opinion, I may not be here writing this review today. Shame on Dr. Levin! BTW, my insurance carrier (Anthem) didn't seem too interested in what I had to say regarding this doctor's incredibly unprofessional, unacceptable and dangerous behavior. read more

Appt. at 12:45....I was there almost an hour early. His staff ordered lunched for themselves (high priority), Dr. peeked from the hallway several times and was highly agitated due to not being able to get some type of renewal (several staff members working on problem. I was finally, ushered back at 1:20 and left in a room with door shut. I went to the restroom and left door open on return to room. The conversation over heard was about my Worker's Comp. and laughing. A staff member then passed the door with paperwork in hand and was heard whispering to front office staff, again I hear "Worker's Comp". I proceed to the area of conversation and notify the 2 staff members that their whispering skills need work. Immediately, there's a change of environment and the staff member staff member says " Let me get the Dr". I return to the room and seconds later Dr. Levin enters. He ask "Why are you here?" " Sorry you've wasted your time" WHAT!. He then says "Your in my chair" while pointing, he says " This is where your suppose to sit." I ask him " Don't you know why Im here?", ignoring his the previous statement. "Don't you have my medical records?". He goes on like I haven't said a word or there's a language barrier. Then he says " Do you have a lawyer?" WHAT! OK! Now I know this is a circus stunt and nothing is coming of this visit. I say this because Dr. Levin knows I have a lawyer due to the legal letter he received from my lawyer specifically, directed to him. By this time my head is really hurting and I'm disgusted with his nonprofessional attitude and tactics surrounding my health. Dr. Levin asked the minimal questions for his profession and didn't seem inclined or interested my symptoms at all. He again, stated how my time was wasted and seemed to take pleasure in hearing his own voice. Dr. Levin references medical summary by another neurologist brought in by myself; referral to neuro surgeon designation Stanford. He kept asking when is the appt. Repeating for the 3rd time " It's a referral and we're waiting on authorization" ALL THIS DR. HEARS IS HIMSELF...SELF-ABSORBED. By now, Im in tears and trying to explain the devastating effects these headaches, ringing ear and eye pain are having on my life;stress, changed sleep pattern, changed eating habits, education on hold, let go from job due to injury and suicidal thoughts. I go on to ask how long is this "concussion going to last?" Dr. Levin says "Maybe up to a year", this as he turns to the door. He then says " I've had an a concussion before" " I got hit in the head with a golf ball and never missed a day off work".WELL! EXCUSE ME FOR NOT BEING YOU AND YOUR UNDERHANDED WAY OF JUDGING A PERSON WHILE FEEDING YOUR EGO. This whole exchange took 12 minutes or less. Result Dr. Levin: "We'll see what Stanford says" One more time, "Sorry you wasted your time" I left and sat in a parking lot for an hour ...too upset to drive. Worst Doctor ever. Brought in the patient I was taking care of (a developmentally disabled adult with parkinson's among many other conditions). Dr. Levin came in and was just the rudest person ever. Would bluntly ask "So what's wrong with her? Why doesn't she have any files or anything?" We don't know what's causing her conditions which is why we were referred to him. When we told him this he got angry and was saying this isn't his problem and that this shouldn't be his situation to solve and that we've wasted his time. What an absolute terrible experience. I can not believe this Individual consideres himself a doctor. He should be called a complete fraud. My mother waited 5 weeks to get an appointment. I took the day off and our appointment was at 3:00 pm and we went there early to check in. Once we checked in we were sent to wait in the room. After one hour of waiting nothing. After two hours of waiting nothing. After two hours and 25 minutes the "specialist" finally walked in. "Sorry I was running late". Looked at the charts. I kid you not. 2 minutes later! TWO FREAKEN minutes later! Told us we will call in the meds to the pharmacy and he walked out. I was absolutely floored. Never have I seen such behavior. He was very rough and unkind with my mother. She has a pinched nerve and he flopped her around like a ragdoll. He poked her roughly with needles with absolutely no warning and when I tried to hold her hand and comfort her he said "you either need to sit down or leave because I don't want you standing behind me while I do this" Not only did he have NO bedside manner, but he was physically rough with a patient that has severe chronic pain, and he didn't do half of the testing he was ordered to do. That should give you an idea of how long everyone has been waiting there is only 6 people in here and no one has been called. And the receptionist are absolutely so rude! His bedside manner is absolutely horrible and he is not approachable. My mom had a stroke back in July 2019. My mom was transferred from Emanuel in Turlock to Doctor's Hospital because they have a better stroke center. It took 2 full days to see the Neurologist on staff, which happened to be Dr. Levin. There was no set time or set schedule for when Dr. Levin would come by and examine my mom, Dr. Levin ended up coming by at 11pm. When he came in to the room everyone is sleeping, he starts talking loud, he will talk over you, you ask him questions and he will talk around them, doesn't answer questions directly or even give you a chance to ask any questions. He was in the room for approximately 8 minutes - to me that's not enough time to properly examine someone, especially close to midnight, half asleep. Once my mom was discharged we had a follow up appointment at his office. The staff there was so nice and lovely, very polite, but once we got in the room it was the exact same personality that we saw in the hospital. Extremely arrogant and rude. Had my mother do a few balancing, focus techniques but I really don't see how that has anything to do with my moms current symptoms that she has. I attempted to ask a few questions, but he never answered them and we were done with the appointment. I will not take my mother back to him. I need my mother to be taken care of by the best, and if that means going to UCSF or Stanford for the best treatment possible then so be it. I won't take her back to a doctor who has extremely poor communication skills and works off of intimidation. read more

This was a very upsetting appointment! I'm forced to leave 1 star to be able to leave the horrible experience! Due to Covid other doctors were months away to see my father this was one of the available specialist that i would NEVER refer someone to! Staff was great! Even the person that ran my fathers results was amazing! But when met with the doctor and i don't know where to start! He belittled my dad as he was going so quick and telling him touch your feet...touch your nose...turn your hand and he rudely told him he was doing one of the items wrong...he talked about himself after we had waited for an hour to be seen! He told my father that he was too old to be working. Wanted to prescribe him on seizure medication as we don't know if he had a true seizure as he fainted and has been having other heart issues. Primary doctor didn't want him on the seizure medicine...he took the time to tell my father he had to report it to the DMV and if they took his license away that's on him if he wants to drive or not...oh by the way all his test were clear!! My wife saw Dr. Levin after a serious head injury. She is a total wreck and can't to a thing. He asked her to remember three words. She did this successfully. Based on this alone, Dr. Levin told her disability that she is ready to go back to work. If her job was to remember three random words once a day she might be ready to go back to work but her job is more demanding than that. This guy is next level awful. I had an appointment scheduled @ 1:15pm, checked my name on the paper @ 1:02pm. an hour later I am asking if I will be seen any time soon & they said yes in 10min, well 2hours later after being skipped so many times I come to find out that the ladies in the front desk had never checked me in, not only that but they accused me of not signing in so they had me as a no-show, I told the MA who was rooming patients to talk to the Doctor about this incident & have the girls show the sign-in-sheet, my name is at the bottom checked in at 1:02pm. I did not get roomed till 3:20pm only to wait even longer for the Doctor to come in the room. I'm still here waiting this very moment! read more

If no stars are available I would choose that, had to wait 2 hours to even be seen (which is a setback but acceptable considering he must have many patients etc) but then once seen he refused to even make eye contact while speaking to me, suggested I would need brain surgery about 5 seconds in and used very offensive language while speaking about my symptoms. I was appalled by his negative treatment considering I am the patient with a brain tumor you would think some sensitivity is required. I have never seen a Dr. office have more angry people every single time I've been in there. You expect maybe once in a blue moon. But this is all the time. This last visit put me other then top.
