This has very little to do with Dr. Jeffrey Taylor because we love going to him. This has to do with the office and the staff. Every time we call staff never greets us kindly. We I call they never greet kindly either. I just called, and they rudely hang up without me being done. Every time we walk in staff is very dry particularly the front desk is not very nice like you would expect at a Hoag office. When we checkout its very plain as well. I have only had on lady be pleasant there. Dr. Jeffrey Taylor's nurse is wonderful, we really enjoy seeing Dr. Jeffrey Taylor. We also like seeing Dr. Mann when she's around. The staff just is not very professional, and makes us not really comfortable. read more

The annual fee is now $200. Dr Taylor charges a fee outside of insurance and will drop you as a patient if you don't pay it.

Dismissive, condescending and does not listen to the parents. Brought my son who has had chronic ear infections for a new patient visit. Told to use nasal rinse and allergy medicine and there was no sign of an infection. Came back a few days later as we have a trip overseas planned and a sports competition and my son is still sick and getting worse with cough and total discomfort. Told there is fluid in his ears but it's not yet infected. Refused to give a prescription in case issue worsened. First doctor to ever refuse proactive medication despite my consistent experience over ten years as his parent and the personal commitments we had planned. Of course, my son got worse and ended up having to use telehealth to get the medicine we needed. Will never return to the practice and now he has the audacity to charge $200 for a complete waste of time and no outcome to help my son. The worst. Avoid. read more

Office staff has zero communication. He was automatically assigned to my daughter at birth while at hoag. His visit to my daughter at the hospital was very short and not very helpful. However, his office did not know how to bill insurance properly. So the service for my daughter was not billed and his office is threatening to send the bill for a 2 minute visit to collections even though my daughter is fully covered under the insurance plan. read more

I have 3 little ones that have been going to Dr Taylor and I hadn't have anything mentionable to say about Dr Taylor other than he's efficient with the normal check ups until my 3rd was born and we were having issues getting his weight up. It was due to my milk supply not being enough (I'm normally am over producer in the past). Dr Taylor carefully put me on a guided plan for about 3 weeks and sure enough, I'm producing more than enough now and we were able to get off combo feeding with formula (nothing wrong with formula, just didn't want to do both breastfeeding and formula and wanted to give breastfeeding a try again to see if we just go straight formulas instead). It was a stressful situation for me but he kept me calm throughout the whole process with several calls and weigh in visits. He was super knowledgeable that I trusted him. With my other 2 kids, he's usually super efficient with our visits so overall he's usually really efficient for normal check ups but he's definitely super smart if you actually have an issue. Very glad we were referred to him by Dr Mahller (which I also highly recommended as an obgyn). read more

Dr Jeffrey Taylor has been the calm in the midst of my many storms over the past few years. He has been a great coach for us helping us understanding success with introducing table foods, independent sleep, etc. His office is very responsive. Booking appointments is very easy and I've almost always been able to get appointments on the same day. The rest of the doctors in this practice are also very caring, kind and informative. I don't want to leave bad reviews, especially during this hard time, but Dr. Taylor was a big disappointment. I took my son there for 18-month follow up shots, he literally saw us for less than 1 minute. Didn't even ask how we are doing or even acknowledge us. He looked at the monitor, handed me an invoice, gave my son shots, then walked out. I was confused whether if I needed to make another follow up appointment for his 2-year shot or will they contact me. There was zero communication. The receptionists were too busy staring at the monitors when I walked out, also no acknowledgment. Perhaps they don't want my business because I'm asian? Horrible experience! The best Doc ever! So thoughtful, kind and amazing with our son! We have been going for a year and he has been amazing!

We have been with Dr. Taylor since our son was born in 2010. He follows the guidelines for vaccinations, so if you don't agree with that, he's not your doctor. He has been exceptionally helpful and available for a couple of issues that have come up with our kids and provides many options for us to pursue to remedy the situation. He has exceptional bedside manner with the kids and listens well to the parents and kids. He also makes time to see you that day if your child is sick, so occasionally there may be a little bit of a wait, so you may want to check in with the office staff if they are running behind. His nurse Cindy is very efficient and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff in the office. The other doctors in the practice are good as well, especially Dr. Rodriguez. I found Dr. Taylor through Yelp and he wasn't a fit for us. I didn't realize he wouldn't split vaccinations and when I did ask about splitting them his nurse mentioned he wouldn't. I ended up doing all of them since we were traveling but knew I wanted to mirror the immunization schedule we were allowed to do with our doctor with our other insurance provider. After we finished our appointment we didn't get a printout of immunizations done. Our other provider did this so I had to call to get a copy mailed for our records. Our son cried after the shots (understandable) but when I asked if I could nurse him he said someone was waiting (understandable) but no other option given and he left. read more

Dr. Taylor is patient and kind, and such a great doctor to my kids - always making them laugh and easily distracting them for the not so fun parts of our visits (shots!) On top of all of that, he and his staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND at our last visit when I showed up having switched from a PPO to an HMO and had forgotten to indicate a PCP preference to keep Dr. Taylor. Even though he technically wasn't my daughter's doctor according to our insurance, he saw her anyway and then his AMAZING Practice Manager Susan helped me call my insurance company (which took over 2 hrs of being on hold!!) to retroactively change her PCP to Dr. Taylor that day so that the visit would be covered. I was blown away by her kindness and willingness to help me. This office is THE BEST. read more

I was referred to Dr Taylor by my obstetrician when I delivered my daughter. She was born with low birth weight and we are nervous wrecks. Dr Taylor cared for her and provided us with reassurance at every turn. He was honest and realistic. He provided us with handouts and booklets which satisfied our eager "new parent" thirsts for information. With his expertise and guidance we were able to take our little peanut home from the hospital without difficulty. We then took her for her first visit and he was just as helpful and comforting. After following his recommendations, my baby was gaining weight! At her two month appointment, Dr Taylor heard a heart murmur on my baby and referred us to a pediatric cardiologist immediately. We saw the cardiologist about two weeks later and found out that our daughter had a heart defect and she was subsequently taken for a procedure to repair her little heart. I couldn't be more grateful for his vigilance and skill. We feel so blessed to have Dr Taylor caring for our daughter. I truly believe he saved her, more than once. He always greets us with warmth and a smile. At each visit, we are provided information that is appropriate for her developmental stage (diet, safety, etc). He always asks if we have questions or concerns and he's sincere about it. If your family is desirous of a collaborative relationship with a skillful and caring physician, Dr Taylor and his staff are a good fit. read more

We did our homework and selected Dr. Jeffery Taylor to be the pediatrician for our first-born little girl. From our initial 'screening" interview to his thorough and conscientious care for our baby after delivery to subsequent visits at his office, Dr Taylor has been friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, comforting. He knows that new parents have a lot of questions and makes an effort to ask us if there is anything on our minds at each visit. I'm sure he hears the same questions over and over every day, week in and week out, but he treats with understanding and warmth. He is very kind to our baby and administers vaccinations as carefully as possible. His staff is top-notch and we have never had a problem getting an answer, call back or appointment if necessary. Given the plethora of information one can find on the internet, It's easy to spend all night reading and worrying. Dr. Taylor was originally recommended to us by the Labor and Delivery staff at Hoag Hospital. Our son is healthy and happy due to Dr Taylor's continued guidance and care over the last 11 years. He helped us through the extended at home Bili light treatments needed after our son was born, called us to talk us down off the edge when our four-week-old went in for emergency surgery at CHOC (and kept calling back to check in with his surgeon and us), answered our many questions about vaccines and childhood illnesses, and has stayed with us for the long haul through our son's additional diagnosis of several other unique medical conditions. To do this, he had to confer with pediatric specialists, write letters, and complete reports which I know were time-consuming for him and his staff. Now that our son is older, Dr. Taylor takes the time to answer our son's questions and concerns with honesty and respect. He even talked him through learning how to swallow a pill, just like he taught his own kids. While this is a busy practice with several doctors, we have never been made to feel rushed or unimportant. In the many years we have been with Dr. Taylor, I don't remember the waits being unreasonable. I know that when my son has been sick, the staff has always worked to get us in with Dr. Taylor or one of the other practitioners the same day if possible. Since they are this helpful with everyone, I expect that could attribute to longer waits on different days (especially during the flu season), but I would rather wait a few extra minutes for the care and attention we get at this office. read more

We were referred to Dr Taylor when we had our first 7 years ago. We have been very pleased with the care he has provided to all of our children over the years. Last year we had some concerns about staring spells our daughter was having. Dr Taylor was quick to get us the tests needed and pushed for us to be seen by a neurologist at CHOC. In the 12 years I have been going to pediatricians for my three children, it is easy to say Dr. Taylor takes the #1 spot on my list as the BEST PEDIATRICIAN-Hands down! He is personable, informative and caring. We waited an hour for my sons vaccines. A visit where we should have been in the office for 15 minutes tops, turned into 75 minutes. 60 minutes in a waiting room is absolutely inexcusable, especially with a one year old in a room with three sick children. No one apologized for the wait, not the doctor, his staff, or the nurses. I can only conclude that they either completely oblivious to the fact that we waited an hour, or don't care about our treatment. Either way, my family and my child deserve proper medical care and treatment that this office is unequipt to provide. I would never recommend this practice to anyone and would tell them to do all they can do find a better provider. read more

I want to say a big THANK YOU to Dr. Taylor actually. My daughter went in for a physical and hadn't been in a few years. My daughter ranked at 90th percentile for both height and weight. She is only 9 and feels "out of place" sometimes because she is so much taller and bigger than the girls her age and in her class. Dr. Taylor had asked my daughter her opinion of herself to which she replied "too heavy". Dr. Taylor stopped her, asked her to go stand next to him and then proceeded to show and explained the percentile chart on the computer. In the end, my daughter left the doctors with her head held high and a smile on her face. We've been going to Dr. Taylor now for almost 12 years and he is an incredible doctor. He is such a kind-hearted, warm and loving doctor and it shows. It's so sad that we live in a world that my 9 year old daughter feels so self-conscious of her body and proceeds to compare herself to other girls around her. When our son was born at Hoag, we asked the nurses, "if you had to pick a pediatrician to be your child's doctor, who here would you recommend?" Without a hesitation, Dr. Taylor's name was given, which speaks volumes because nurses work with Doctors to help treat patients. He's been our kids doctor since. Our son also has a rare condition in which Dr Taylor pulled a book out to do some research on because he wasn't really familiar with it. It shows he's willing to show he doesn't know everything but willing to research it to be more knowledgeable about a condition he's not familiar with. That's a great quality he has. Dr Taylor is also objective when you ask him questions. Whether its regarding breast feeding vs bottle or circumcision vs not, he's always giving the facts of the pros and cons versus an opinion. Dr Taylor is also very personable and puts you at ease. His demeanor creates an environment and sense of calmness. Any anxiety is lessen because of his personality and attitude. Dr. Taylor is also really good with making sure to speak to your children and also the parents. Good doctors are hard to find, Dr Taylor is like finding a needle in a haystack. We have 4 children and have been with Dr. Taylor for almost 12 years. He is amazing. Our third child was born with a heart defect that needed to be repaired at 6 months old. He is perfect now but it was definitely tough for our family while we were going through it. Dr. Taylor was the perfect doctor for us to be going on this ride with. Dr. Taylor is a great pediatrician. It's just unfortunate that our change in insurance plan does not cover for Dr. Taylor anymore. We had to pay out of pocket to see him, but it's still worth it until we find another pediatrician that's covered by our insurance. He's really knowledgable about his work, great bedside manners, answers all our questions more than thoroughly, great with the kids and put them at ease and us as well as parents. It's rare to find a healthcare practitioner who's willing to have a one-on-one talk with you. The only reason I don't give Dr. Taylor's office 5 stars is the wait is long sometimes. But the wait is worth it once you see Dr. Taylor and you feel that your child thoroughly taken care of. We have 3 kids including twins. I met Dr. Taylor in consultation before my twins were born and right from the start he had a calming and reassuring demeanor. The office can be busy at times (as I'm sure all offices are in the winter), but he spends enough time with us every time. He is great with the kids and they like to see him- (even though he gives his own shots). In addition to the well visits, he was really helpful when our youngest was having behavior and sleep problems. Dr. Taylor listened to us and made a plan and included specialists too. Dr. Taylor is a great pediatrician. I am an RN and worked at a nearby Emergency Room when I was pregnant with my daughter (now 6 yrs old) and I asked some of the Emergency physicians that I worked with who I should choose for my daughter's pediatrician and several of them said Dr. Taylor is the best. Many of those doctors stated that they take their own children to Dr. Taylor. I've worked with plenty of doctors in my career as an RN to know what a 'just ok' doctor and a bad doctor look like. Dr. Taylor is neither of those. He is laid back and doesn't panic over small things. He doesn't make a first time mother feel stupid for being worried about small things a new mother makes into a huge deal in their head. He always returns calls and if it's something easy, he gives the answer to your question to his medical assistant and has her call to relay his message. He gives all vaccines himself when he could very easily have one of the medical assistants give them. He spends the time you need with you and makes sure all of your questions are answered. He also checks milestones by asking the kids questions worded in such a way that they don't know they're being checked for milestones, but gets the information usually directly from the child. The other thing I love about Dr. Taylor and his office is that they do not accept patients who aren't properly vaccinated. It really gives me peace of mind to know that my child isn't being exposed to the measles or worse because a parent has chosen to get their medical information from Jenny McCarthy rather than research. When Dr. Taylor isn't available for one reason or another, I know my daughter is in good hands with any of the other physicians in the practice. read more
