This automotive shop saved our lives or at the very minimum, saved a very important weekend for us. We had spent Thursday night in Bethlehem, PA and the next morning we were traveling to Montauk, New York for a wedding on Saturday. However, we needed to be there on Friday for various activities. After we left our hotel, we had been traveling for about 10 minutes when the warning light came on indicating one of our tires was low on air. We took the next exit and we were looking for a gas station. We stopped and asked a gentleman where a gas station would be and where we could get a tire checked and potentially fixed. This good Samaritan said follow me and took us several miles before we got to Jeff's Automotive Service. From the second we pulled into the parking lot, our anxiety started to diminish. They found a screw in a front tire and indicated that it had to be repaired. They dropped everything to fix our tire so that we could get on the road. We were impressed with the attitudes of everyone and they took customer service to a new level of excellence. They got us on the road quickly with smiles on their faces. I've used them 4 times now. Staff are very friendly and helpful when scheduling and Brett especially is super helpful. They managed to squeeze me in on a Saturday morning when I had a bolt in my tire, and did the repair, oil change and tire rotation by 1pm! They've never tried to upsell me and even said some of the items a dealer wanted to do weren't needed yet saving me some $. Work is warrantied for 3 years / 36,000 miles. They are always trying to sell extra stuff you don't need. They also will not work on your car if you have the parts. They don't make the big markup on parts ! They should charge a hourly rate to put your parts on. I was told it's because of the warranty they can't work on my car I thought there here to help you. I chose Jeff's Automotive because I received a free PA state inspection coupon from my AAA membership renewal. They broke not one, but two lug nut studs while removing the wheels for state inspection. They blamed the shop that last had the wheels off. The shop that last had the wheels off performed my 8,000-mile tire rotation about 500 miles ago. I have never had an issue from the "other shop" that had the wheels off. The "other shop" has performed numerous tire rotations without issue and has sold me tires for various cars over 20 years. I googled the average cost with parts and labor to remove and replace wheel lug studs and wheel lug nuts. Google gave me a price range depending on the car. Jeff's charged me 23% more than the highest rate in Google's range. read more

Nightmare experience! They will trick you into paying for things you don't need and overcharge you! they don't stand by there warranty's I brought my car into Jeff's automotive for a coolant leak they charged me $800 to only find the leak no work done at that point I was stuck having to have them repair it. Big mistake they charged me $4,500 dollars to fix my coolant system 1 day after it's leaking again and of course the warranty doesn't cover anything they will scam you they don't even put air in your tires or put the correct fluids that go with your car I believe there quality is very low and there work does not match the price read more

What a great repair shop and staff! I have had 3 cars repaired at Jeff's so far. 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport, 1998 Honda CRV and 2008 Nissan Rogue. Each vehicle had various issues from oil changes, brake work, A/C repair, ball joints, fluid replacements to annual State inspections. The price for repair is very compettative and the quality of workmanship is second to none! You can drop your car off in advance if you like so you don't need to scramble to arrive for service that day. They advise you in advance of any work expense in advance so you can make an informed customer decision on repairs. I had a rear shock replaced last year for $400. ONE shock. on ONE side of the car. I drove for another year and (surprise) the other went. I was quoted another "ballpark" $400+ for ONE. I called around, ask friends for recommendations and found out the CORRECT ballpark is $250-ish for TWO to be replaced. Because, according to everyone else, no self-respecting mechanic would replace only one side. I went elsewhere and had both done - $248, parts and labor! Looking back on all my dealings here, I was totally taken advantage of. The kicker? My headlight that they fixed is now shining in the trees! read more

The staff is always very friendly and professional. Nobody likes to spend money on auto repairs, me included. But when its needed you need to feel the repairs are done right. My repairs kept my car overnight and a loaner was provided. I hope I dont need their services often but when I do, they'll get my business. read more

Took my car there for inspection they failed it said i had to pay $1500 to have it repaired to go thru inspection. I took it for a second opinion charged me $175 and passed inspection. Very dishonest people will never go there again. read more

We took our car here a few times and every time they come up with about $800 worth of things that need to be repaired. This time they told me the drive belt was so terribly worn beyond the point of when it should have been replaced and that the transmission fluid was really dirty and needed to be changed. I took it to another shop for a second opinion and they said the drive belt looks perfectly fine and the transmission fluid is not supposed to be changed because it is a closed system... so Jeff's flat out lied to us. Last time they replaced our wheel bearing and said the other one was about to fail and should be replaced too. Had it double checked by the dealer who said it looked fine. Another lie from Jeff's. A friend whose husband is a mechanic said they were dishonest at Jeff's, and that's when we wised up. I do not recommend this place. read more

I have winter tires put on my car. I made an appointment for today. They didn't have it. Let my car there this morning. They'll squeeze me in. No they aren't I MADE AN APPOINTMENT I DONT JUST SHOW UP OUT OF THE CLEAR BLUE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT So my car will be there until 5:30. JUST GREAT. Replaced my bad battery last year. Started having troubles last week and took it to another shop and the battery was bad. Come to find out the battery Jeff's put in was dated 2005. Was also quoted $900 to fix an issue so the car would pass inspection. I took it to another shop and the car was fixed and inspected for just over $100. I will NEVER go back to Jeff's, not even for an oil change. They will try to squeeze every penny out of you for work that is not needed. read more

My headlight went out while my husband was in Chicago for business, so I looked up a nearby Mechanic. Headed over to Jeff's with my almost two year old and they got my car in right away. They were very polite, timely, professional, and sweet to my daughter and me during our short time there. For a mechanic's waiting room- it's the cleanest, warmest (rainy, cold day), and most non-odiferous I've visited yet. They were very honest and priced fairly. If I need anything else done that my husband can't do- I'm definitely going back to Jeff's. read more

The benefit to this place is that you may know whats wrong with your car so that you can shop around to get a better price (if in fact a repair needed to be done). You get a free cup of organic coffee if you may; it is appointment only which I like but will get the spontaneous person done if they can. Overall good business operation. They are a bit expensive but at least service is guaranteed, and you will be covered if something goes wrong. Fortunately I got a kind upfront sales guy-thats a hit & miss nowadays within the same company. I will use in the future. read more

Every time I take my 2013 car here for routine maintenance I end up spending $700-800. I drive a lot so I need frequent oil changes. They recently told me I needed some expensive maintenance so I thought I'd get a second opinion. I ended up going to a Mazda dealership and they fixed it for a fraction of what Jeff's quoted me. read more

They highly overcharged for a simple check engine light. I wanted them to diagnose the problem. They acomplishsd this without issue. However, all they did was hook a computer up to the car and conduct a visual inspection to the rest of it. They tested for leaks as well. If they were working hard it should have been accomplished and probably was accomplished within half an hour to 45 minutes. Yet, they charged me for two hours. They listed off a bunch of problems and recommendations on what I could do to help improve my car for every nook and cranny that needs fixed from looking at it in order to justify their outrageous price. Can't say I'm surprised, just disappointed. This shop is a rip off and I wouldn't recommend it to a friend. They are dishonest and only care about taking your money. Incredibly disappointing place. Ruth P and Dave H are spot on in their earlier reviews which describe this place accurately and honestly--as blunt as it may sound. They seem to be desperately trying to lure potential customers in and then attempt to pitch/sell a load of fixes to max out on how much they can make per car (and likely will 'advise' you of their input while the vehicle is up in the air so you may feel stuck). Labor rates and parts pricing seem mediocre to lousy, and time estimates can be super fluffy as another way to gouge people. Even worse: there is not an auto genius in the bunch there to help rationalize the charges. Obviously there is no business genius around either because this model is very outdated...and usually ends up sinking since it's no way to maintain a customer base or gain referrals. Bad practices are far more costly than good ones--which is why bad businesses overcharge. Don't just shop around for other opinions and bids, just spare yourself any hassle and simply skip it by going elsewhere. There are undoubtedly better deals and better service at virtually every other option in the area (less annoying too!). Shame. read more

Took our car in for inspection, and was told a multitude of problems. Shocks leaking, tires uneven, cabin filters. The manager called and had tires ready to be put on. Instead we took it to the dealer and showed the invoice, they said the shocks had no leaks and if they repaired it the manf. Would not cover it. I advise to get a second opinion. read more

Just moved to the area and had to bite the bullet and have someone change my oil for me for the first time in 11 years (I am adamant on changing my own oil). Of course I purchased my own oil and filter for them to use and scheduled just an oil change. Went in, everyone was friendly, had some good small talk while I waited, and when they finished I paid without having to listen to anyone trying to sell me a long list of unnecessary services. They even commented on how clean my car was, which I greatly appreciated ad I work hard to maintain a neat auto. I usually do all my auto maintenance myself, but would not hesitate to bring my car back to Jeff's if I had to. However, I'm still not happy about paying someone to change my oil. read more

I go to Jeff's for most of my service on my car. I have always received good service from them. I would recommend Jeff's to my friends. I have been going to Jeff's for over 10 years or more. I am a little upset with them after my last visit though. I had forgotten to give them a rewards certificate at the time of payment. The same day after I drove my car home I realized my mistake. I gave Jeff's a call to see if they would honor my reward and they said they would not be able to do so. My reward does not expire until August but I was hoping to use it that day. I did not have this problem a time before this when the same thing happened. I took the reward to them, they fixed my bill and gave me the discount but not this time. I know I should have remembered to present the discount at time of payment but I feel there could have been something that they could have done. I am a good customer and I feel I should have been able to get the discount. Other than this incident I have had no problems with their service. Grace Piparato read more

I took my vehicle into this garage to have an exhaust issue fixed and was very happy with the service and price that I was given, they did a great job on the repair and charged me what I feel was a fair price for the amount of work that was required for the repair. However, when I took my other vehicle in for brake service I was quoted over $800 for a single new caliper, pads, and "brake system flush" (whatever that's supposed to be). I checked with another local shop and got both front calipers and pads replaced for a little over $600. They also took it upon themselves to find an additional $1,500 worth of services and issues (tires wearing unevenly and out of round, shocks are leaking, and coolant system pH balance was off) that a local dealer did not find less then a month ago for state inspection. read more
