Jeff had initially told me $3800 for my rather large deck plus we needed a wheelchair ramp that I thought to be impossible to build given the space of good solid ground he had to work with up the street. My mom had to have it. Her health isn't good. Jeff explained to me that there could be more added at the end depending on what took place at my mom's home. If it turned taking him the entire 5 days he allotted for my two projects the total would $6100.00 which I thought was a great deal due to the situation at my mom's. Jeff and I decided to knock my Deck out then move to my mom's. These guys were done with my deck in 2 days. But when they finished at my mom's and was packing up to leave after day 3 I was astonished. Especially when Jeffrey came to collect for the job. I paid $3,000 up front like Jeffrey asked. With his help and my research, we decided on Behr Premium Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain and Sealer (It is supposed to last 6 years on horizontal surfaces. Hope it will.) Peter did an unbelievable job prepping the deck by pressure washing. We had a lot of mildew in the shaded areas and he took great care to get it all before sealing the deck. Our HVAC guy came that afternoon and thought we had a new deck. Peter's crew did a great job of the deck, the railings, and the support edges for the deck. Everything is smooth and the deck looks brand new. We have 8X10 rough cut lumber from an old cotton warehouse in Huntsville that is 150 Years old that we used 50 years ago when we built the house for beams and support on our front porch. The lumber really needed lots of TLC and it was lovingly provided to keep this piece of history alive for us.

They came out, did an inspection on everything, and fixed a couple of minor problems as part of the inspection. They did such a thorough job we asked about service programs and became a service customer. We needed a couple of repairs along the way, and the service was always prompt and professional, and they didn't use the opportunity to make a sales pitch. When it was time to replace our system they were a pleasure to work with, and they worked around our holiday schedule saving our holiday plans. The system they recommended is more efficient, quieter, and saves us a bunch of money on our energy bill. Recently I was under the house and realized our crawlspace humidity was much higher than seemed normal. We needed to get it dried out and remedy the issues so we weren't dealing with mold and damaged wood. Because we have such trust in them we called Southern Heating & Cooling for a reference to get the crawlspace work done and found that it's something they do! They got us on their schedule and in just days had a crew out to do the work. When they finished on Thursday the relative humidity in the crawlspace was 95% On the following Monday it was 50%. The price was right, and the equipment they recommended and installed is top-of-the-line. We can't say enough good things about this company and their people. Everyone we have come in contact with has treated us so well, and their service has constantly exceeded our expectations.
