Jeff is just as knowledgeable & experienced as any auto mechanic shop, but he is straightforward and helpful, and works with a strong moral compass. Most auto shops have to pay at least a dozen employees and pay rent so they jack up their prices or offer services that don't really need to be done. It's just business. But thankfully Jeff doesn't run like these places. He took care of my car's needs efficiently and at a fair price. My fiancé and I are so happy we found our auto mechanic! I cannot recommend Jeff's service enough! I've had to replace my automatic window motor/assembly-thingy on both doors (each about a year apart) and Jeff has been there for me in the clutch. The convenience of having him swing by my house for a simple repair would be worth paying extra but his prices are actually lower than going to the shop and the work is million times quicker. Unfortunately I had a different experience than most others here after hiring Jeff to do a fair amount of work (over $2500) on my 2 vehicles. He was initially friendly and responsive, hence the 2 stars, and willing to work with my strict approach to Covid interactions which I appreciated. Because of that, I tried to overlook signs of sloppy work, like not being able to reset the error codes on my truck after changing the battery, bolts and lug nuts floating around my driveway, and just leaving random parts to the car like pictured in the car without having reinstalled them. After our first longer trip out after having the brakes, etc. done on the van, we did call him back because something was causing a smell so caustic once the van heated up that we had to pull over, take our kids out and let it cool off before getting back on the road. He stood by his work and the smell eventually dissipated. BUT, I paid $370 to replace the coach batteries in my class B van, and three months later I notice they're leaking all over my driveway. I'm not saying that this was 100% an error in handling or anything positively drawing back to his work, but as someone who paid him a lot for said batteries and was hoping to establish a relationship with a mechanic in my new area, I was hoping that he could take a look to confirm. I reached out on a Monday, he said he'd get back to let me know when he could come around and....now its the following Monday. Being nervous that the leaking battery acid is continuing to do more damage and having no experience myself, I texted and said could you please just walk me through how to safely disconnect this. He said he would call but didn't. I sent a follow up, sincerely saying hey I'm just worried about this can you please help and....nothing. I'll add for the sake of fairness that this last interaction was on New Years Eve, but I'd been strung along the full week since Monday waiting to hear from him so it had initially been my intent to get ahead of that. Anyway, I see that others have had a far better experience than I have, but please be sure he has experience with your specific car and that you have a luxurious schedule before engaging him. *EDIT: Jeff responded below and via text that on Monday he had an accident and totaled his car, which we can all agree completely sucks...but what bothered me was the leaving me hanging the whole week prior. I responded as such, and never heard back. The part pictured is something I've never seen before the day he worked on my car, and afterwards it was in my car. He lives in Yuba City. He made some trips to help me out with my van down here in Chico. But every time it was awkward because he brought either his wife or a friend or sit in the car on a really hot day while he worked on my vehicle. He knows his vehicles, and he managed to change wires and plugs on my van but still didn't fix the initial problem which was the light going on and blinking. There was another procedure that we could do but it was iffy as whether it would work or not and so we scheduled to do it and then all the sudden he just dropped out of sight out of mind and now he just ghosts me and I feel like he left me holding the bag. I am frustrated, and my van is an operable until I fix it. And so now I have to start all over again. I was referred to Jeff by a friend. My car shut down on me while driving it when the temperature gage was on high. I had to get it towed to my apartment complex because it wouldn't run. I called MANY auto shops asking if any mechanics would be willing to come out to me just to see if they could tell me what's wrong with my car, I wasn't asking for anyone to work on my car outside of the shops, I just wanted to get an idea of what was wrong with my car. Every place I called said they weren't willing to TAKE A LOOK at my car to let me know what could be potentially wrong with it, and said I would have to tow it to their shop just to get an idea what was wrong with it. The vehicle had problems overheating and issues with AC before we closed the deal. I should have known better, but I was convinced by Jeff he had diagnosed and fixed the problems - my bad. Turns out he was wrong. The truck ended up needing new radiator and complete AC overhaul $$$, not to mention a host of other issues that have come up. Have had multiple frustrating experiences with repairs we counted on Jeff for. If only we had learned sooner than later! I had an issue with my Honda and it was over heating and AC issues. I literally had Jeff diagnose something different at least 3 times for the SAME ISSUE. He's a very nice guy which is why I think I remained hopeful and continued to let him 'repair' things. My brother had Jeff repair his AC. That broke. My mom recently went to Accurate Auto after paying Jeff $550 to repair whatever the hell he came up with this time only to find out her catalytic converter was out. Once she told Jeff he said he would refund her and then came back on his word and told her he wouldn't! Not professional and not somewhere I would ever take my car again.
