Has to be a tax write off so the owner can invite his friends over and drink in his bar. If that's not the case, the guy is scared of making money. I could go on and on about how this makes zero sense. Add a bar to the most well known spot for food after the bars in Ames, but don't sell alcohol to the people that hold this business together. And it's not like anyone is asking for beer at 2:00 am. We're talking an hour or two before that when students are leaving the bars early and grabbing a slice. Let us enjoy a beer with our pizza during that window. That's prime time for your actual customer base. I live outside Chicago so I know what a good pizza is. I was kind of on the hungry side and I decided to give Jeff's a chance while staying in Iowa. I like the fact that they have good deep dish pizza and I would recommend them. I've had Pizza twice within the same month and I would say they're deep dish stuffed is worth the trip. read more

I can always count on Jeff's pizza to be amazing! Tonight I ordered their smotherella sticks and a salad. Their smotherella sticks are cheesy and delicious and I've never been disappointed. I also have very high praise for their salads. I feel like you get a nice portion of quality ingredients for a low price. The girl I spoke to seemed like she didn't know what a well done pizza was and actually said she didn't know what a double sliced pizza is , that should've been my cue to hang up. Went and picked up the pizza and the pizza dough was not fully cooked and hardly had any sauce. Looked well done but was soggy. Pizza dough tasted kinda sweet. All this for $28.00. I think it's awesome that they offer some less traditional options such as the BBQ chicken and buffalo chicken pizza, as well as a Philly cheesesteak pizza. The crust is known to taste like a breadstick, and I certainly can't disagree. This pizza shop is a staple to campus life for all Isu students. It's the late night stop for nigh goers and also the primary choice for pizza hosted events, for the most part. They open late, so they are accessible at virtually anytime you hit a pizza craving. Anyone remember Landsberg Pharmacy? Probably not unless you are at least forty years old and have lived in Ames all your life. It was the long time occupant of the site that now houses Jeff's Pizza. After some failures of businesses at the location, it's good to see a long-term success in Jeff's. Let's hope all the construction in the area and associated parking issues do not harm Jeff's business too much. Thankfully, Jeff's is in easy walking distance for many ISU students (dare we say the most conveniently located pizza joint for ISU?) and has a thriving delivery business. I really like Jeff's. It's not foodie pizza. It's pizza. There are some foodie alternatives on the menu, but I've always felt bad pizza joints are exposed when you challenge them with simplicity. Order a simple pepperoni pizza and Jeff's shines. One of just two locations, Jeff's has some unique combination pizzas on the menu. I have a preference for thin and crispy pizza crust that, while not Jeff's default dough, is done very well here. My only complaint about Jeff's is a little inconsistency, typical I suppose of pizza places that are dependent on a lot of part-time workers that turn over often. They've screwed up my crust preference more than once, eating at the restaurant and with carry out. They handled the errors nicely, however, so for me it's not even an issue. The fact that the thin crust comes out soggy on occasion is of greater concern. That said, we've never had an issue when we stuck to their default crust, so perhaps it's just a consequence of me asking them to be something they're not. Pay attention to the daily specials. The savings can be significant. Jeff's Pizza is a great choice for delivery, carry out and dining in. Consider giving them a try while the construction is making business a little difficult for them. read more

Oh my smotharella sticks. I'm a total pizza snob but I love Jeff's and it's my go-to pizza delivery choice. My favorite pizza is the 4 cheese tomato and spinach pizza but smotharella sticks are my weakness. They're garlicy, buttery, cheesy perfection. The bosco sticks are also fantastic and clones are also very good. I think what it comes down to is that Jeff's has good sauce. It's zesty and always tastes fresh. I love getting extra sauce with my orders and dunking my food into it. Mmmm. Jeff's is really reasonably priced and offers great delivery service which you can order online.
