After talking with Chris and watching the crew in the shop, I felt at ease and knew I could trust them to do too work. I called the office, Denise answered and I explained that I was not able to come back today due to the time of day and being far away. It was after 3 o'clock, Denise said there was not enough time to evaluate the car and fix before closing and asked me please bring it back in the morning. She asked me to be there at 7:30am when the owner John would be there. I agreed and showed up Wednesday morning at 7:30. I meet John no small talk, no asking what I did to the car, just professionalism and calm, and he just asked for the key and as soon as he had evaluated it he would tell me. He said the compressor had failed. By 11:00am it was fixed, a new compressor installed at no cost to me. While I was very stressed out, they were calm and always told me they would fix it and they did. These people are trustworthy and honest. They stand behind their work. My wife took my **2004 Ford Crown Victoria with only 140,000 miles** to T & D Auto because it developed a strange noise and was smoking. After looking at it, they told us the **entire engine needed to be replaced** and quoted us **approximately $9,000**. **Nine thousand dollars for a 2004 Crown Vic.** Fortunately, I decided to inspect the car myself before authorizing such an outrageous repair. The problem wasn't a blown engine at all. When I had previously replaced the alternator, **I had accidentally left the alternator bolts loose**. The alternator shifted, contacted the belt, and caused the noise and smoke. I tightened the alternator correctly, and the "bad engine" magically disappeared. Since then, I've driven the car **thousands of miles** without a single engine problem. Based on my experience, I have **serious concerns about the accuracy of the diagnosis** I was given. Had I trusted it without question, I would have spent thousands of dollars replacing a perfectly good engine. My advice: **Always get a second opinion before approving major repairs here.** It may save you thousands of dollars. Calling a Honda dealership they thought it might be plugs (misfires in the cylinders) due to the warning lights my car indicated. Being from Jacksonville 70 miles to the north I was clueless who to take my car to in this area. I checked John's Yelp reviews, gave him a call and felt confident enough to take my car to his shop. He quickly scoped my car, diagnosed the problem, quoted me a very fair price, and had my car ready just a few hours later. I was able to rent a car in the meantime. Total charge $122!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR DIESEL THERE! Over the course of acouple months I've been having fuel related…read moreproblems. At first it was a fuel filter. Got the truck towed there. They replaced the fuel filter. Next day I get on the highway. Truck dies again going down the road. Got it towed back again. While waiting on my ride to pick me up I go to check it out myself. I notice diesel leaking out of the bleeder valve beneath the fuel filter. They over tightened the valve causing it to leak. Replaced myself and drove away from shop. Not even two weeks later the fuel pump exploded. Instead of 7500 I spent 10g to have it converted to the trustworthy cp3 fuel pump. After leaving I get broke down again! No acceleration whatsoever. One of the fuel lines fell off causing diesel to leak all over the motor. Luckily it's not like regular gas and highly combustible. Ofcourse I didn't find that out for myself after I had the truck towed to the house and started investigating myself. Put it back on properly and was fine. I don't drive the truck much when it's not hurricane season but maybe once or twice a week. Over time I've developed a ticking noise that has gradually gotten worse. Instead of taking the truck back to them I've decided to pull the plug with their shop for obvious reasons and find a more trustworthy guy. Way more thorough and honest. If ya'll want name and phone number let me know. Not only did he find the reason for the ticking noise but also the slow coolant leak I've had for over a year without even asking about it. Anyways, back to special forces mechanics. They're lazy and not competent when putting your truck back together. Reason of the ticking noise that has gradually gotten worse was due to a copper washer they forgot to put on one of the injectors causing it to look like it went through a washing machine. I'm lucky it only took a seal kit to fix and I'm back on the road. They're lack of incompetency couldve cost me a lot more. I hope my review will detour some of ya'll taking your truck there for repairs when it comes to something complicated. Our trucks deserve better mechanics than what Special Forces has on hand...
