Mechanic plus replaced the pump and I drove the car for a few months before noticing the coolant leaking and oil leaking. I went to my normal shop for the oil leaking when they told me the pump was leaking again. I got the oil leaks fixed and took it to mechanic plus and the first time they claimed they pressure tested it and it was fine. I brought it back about a month after because the leak was getting worse. I dropped it on Saturday when they were closed and got a call Monday morning saying they replaced the pump again. No way they did that job in a morning. Sure enough the next day it was leaking coolant faster than before. Took it to my main shop and they informed me that the pump was never replaced and that the problem was just a broken clamp above the pump. Not only did mechanic plus lie and claim they warrantied the pump but they probably never looked at the car or they would have seen the broken clamp. Even if your car breaks down in their parking lot tow it somewhere else.

When I picked up my car, they initially charged me about $275 for checking the sensors and removing/reinstalling the bumper, even though I never approved any repairs. After I disputed the charges, they dropped the $110 sensor fee, but I still had to pay about $150 for work I never authorized--on top of wasting my time. Isn't the purpose of an estimate to let the customer decide whether to proceed before being charged?
