It sounds like some of these reviews might be from a previous location or owner because my experience was nothing like the negative reviews I'm reading on here. The attendant was nice and the store was very clean and well organized. It was expensive but I have never been to a beach town, much less an island that has a cheap liquor store. Stopped by this liquor store since it is the only one on the island and they know it. The prices were high as expected but they did sell the non-alcoholic drinks at a steal of a price. I haven't seen $1 for soda cans in years! Staff was nice but seemed to get easily confused. The place served its purpose but was not the best run establishment. read more

This little shop is a gem! They have exactly what you need while on island - a decent bottle of domestic, French or Italian wine, craft beer, seltzers, sodas, and mid to top shelf bottles of spirits. Not a bad bourbon selection tbh! To those reviewers complaining about prices and selection, shop before you arrive if you want a wide or rare selection and pay prices more typical at your local store; don't complain you paid a little extra for the convenience of having this place 800 ft from your resort. It's come in very handy for us on a New Year's Eve for a cold bottle of great champagne, to grab a bottle of wine to celebrate on island birthdays, and on a long summer day in July to whip up a batch of margaritas and watch the magical sunset. Very pricey and difficult to find, but if you want liquor on the island, there is no other choice.

Prices to high, horrible service, said it was illegal to lower prices in the state of Georgia.

Solid local beer options. Make your own 6pk is always appreciated. Very nice and helpful.

1 star is actually too much. Horrible customer service. We came in to purchase a bottle of don Julio reposado.. a drink we typically always purchase. When we got back to the hotel to make drinks we noticed immediately the dark murky tint to the alcohol, not to mention at the bottom of the bottom it appeared to be mold. If you drink tequilla, you know this alcohol is typically brown amber tint... not black. We called the store and spoke to the associate, explained in detail and his response was yeah sorry about that no refund... now we were hoping to just exchange the bottle for a different one. So the next day I took the bottle back just for the associate to see how the mold was present and how dark the alcohol was. The associate who we spoke to on the phone was there and did not want to hear anything we had to say, his response was "I didn't make the bottle as if we were insinuating that he did... So despite his very rude and ignorant response, I smiled and asked "you work in a liquor store are you telling me this is how reposado should look?" He laughed and said no. So i then asked with that being said you know this is a bad bottle you just refuse to do anything about it? And he said yes. Unbelievable lol!! Just an overall bad experience over a $55-$60 bottle..which lets me know the business needed it more than we did. Be advised before purchasing liquor here. read more

I was just in the JIBC. The owner was very helpful and the prices are reasonable considering the costs for other things on the island. Ignore the old reviews as the JIBC was in a temporary trailer and it is now under new ownership in the Beach Village. read more

Really, really rude staff. How can you be so rude living in such a beautiful place? We wanted to buy a cigar and maybe wine. Being respectful of the "no outside food or drink" sign, we left our drink outside. We did have an empty cup however, and when we asked for a trash can, the employee/mgr/owner condescendingly said "that would've been outside" and shook his head no (there are no trash cans within 100 ft of the door). I never felt so uncomfortable in my own skin and as a paying customer. I encountered a very disgruntled elderly woman who seemed to not have cared if I shopped there or not and clearly assumed that I knew that she couldn't accept credit card payment for less than $5. Woman you should have posted a sign! Truly that wasn't why I was upset it was the manner in which she treated me. I should have just left without purchasing anything. read more

Has relocated to a great location and renovations are impressive! Has a nice selection of everything, including a nice humidor of cuban cigars. Prices are similar to surrounding stores offering alcohol but also reflective of those at any island vacation spot. Easier to grab & go here than at the market or gas station which makes for faster service. read more

Coming to the island for years I have seen this store move around the island as the island changes. I expected that now that the store is in the new shopping center it would be nice looking and have a nice selection, that's not the case. They have almost no wine selection anymore, unless you like yellow tail wine. While the old stores didn't look as nice, they had choices. read more
