Because of the size and weight, it cost an additional $1,200.00 to have the ceiling reinforced and hung. This piece is now over $4,000.00! Just one week from the three year anniversary of purchasing it, the chandelier just quit working! The manufacturer, Troy Lighting, simply said, essentially, Too Bad, you've only got a one year warranty. UL, however, stepped up and connected us with a specialist in the lighting repair and restoration field and determined it could be repaired!!! We began purchasing from UL nearly 20 years ago and, today, more than 85% of the fixed and non-fixed lighting, and at least 35% of accessories, in our home are from them. Because of their professionalism to not just helping the customer, but also taking a proactive approach to doing what is right, our future lighting and home decor needs will come from UL!! Worked up a large home package with a known designer in the area, who then parted ways with the client for that. The Designer let me know this when it happened, and I informed the homeowner I would not be able to honor those prices if she was not going through a 'trade entity'. Urban Lights took those trade #'s and sold it all directly to the homeowner for a matching price. Some places will protect that Trade discount, as is only right - this is not one of them, evidently.

I had numerous challenges working with them,…read moreprimarily due to the inexperience and lack of professional from junior project management, no bilingual staff present during painting, having to supervise my own house painting when no staff were onsite, unskilled subcontracted painters, and as of 7 weeks after "completion," NOT RECEIVING AGREED UPON REFUND OF $1300. I had my house painted ONE COLOR - WHITE - with doors and shutters painted black. What should have been a very straightforward painting job focused on complete coverage of my 50's Weeping Mortar style home, turned out to be an exercise in me having to supervise their painters because KHP supervisor was not on site and then argued and gaslit me about the poor work their sub-sub contractors had done. My rental house took four passes to get the initial painting completed, cleaned up, and decent. First pass in October. Somehow the junior PM missed that the front of the house was painted matte white, and the side and back of house were painted satin white. I emailed them to complain that the entire back of house was noticeably under-painted; that the "new" downspouts were a rainbow of blue, beige, and brown that had been poorly painted white; significant over-spray on the chimney, visible from the street, as well as paint on the ground and grass around my house. Their reply was "Weeping mortar is so hard!" We scheduled touch ups and to complete the front porch in May. I scheduled to be at the house for two weeks and communicated this to the junior project manager and sales rep several weeks ahead of time. In the meantime the same junior project manager texted me repeatedly to get the interior of my house on their schedule. I repeatedly told her that it wasn't ready yet. Upon meeting the project manager at the home, she noticed that the house was satin in the back, and matte in the front. They suggested a full repaint of matte all around as contracted. They said the work needed would only take one day, maybe two. The house was painted AGAIN. And as expected from the previous work, the newly painted front porch still did not have enough paint after the first pass. I said it needed another coat, only to have this same junior project manager argue with me about how "they won't do that." I showed her where there was incomplete painting, missed areas, and she gaslit me stating there was no way her best painter (and his very junior, teenage sub contractors) could have missed the weeping mortar this time. Then to pivot, she insisted that they could complete the work and touch ups including repainting the front porch after I was supposed to leave town. I said I would change my plans to stay until the work was finished. I booked a new hotel, extended my rental car, paid my cat sitter extra and met the team on site that Monday. This cost me and extra $1000. Oddly enough the junior project manager had the day off, and the "best painter" was a no show. Instead, it was me and their teenage junior painter using Google Translate to communicate what he was supposed to do. Consistent with the work done so far, this junior painter tried to finish this job with little skills and supervision, with me on his back to show him how to properly touch up wood with a brush. I had to direct him to not paint over my brass hinges, to prime my front door before applying light orange over dark red, and not use a roller on the exterior of my front door. After some back and forth via Google Translate, he called his supervisor, who arrived in an angry state and proceeded to ignore me, then mock me about my basic requests, angrily tore down the just masked front door, and left in a huff. I spoke to the missing junior project manager over the phone, and she again gaslit me for criticizing her very prideful sub... who wasn't present to paint and had instead hired a teenager to do the work alone. I could go on, but there is not enough room to write. They owe me a refund, and don't seem too interested. DO NOT USE THEM.

    They only do estimates over the phone so expect to pay 2-4x more than the quote. It's also not 2…read moreelectricians that come like I was told, it's one electrician and an apprentice who admitted to us that he was brand new and didn't know anything. So really you're paying $185 an hour for one electrician and an assistant. Big difference. They'll get you in with their seemingly low price. The owner told me it would take an hour. I understand it taking maybe 2 hours, but 4 hours for 2 outlets is unacceptable. This company just has no idea how to manage customer expectations. I specifically told them that the basement was unfinished for adding the wiring to the new outlet but when the electrician arrived he said he didn't have the right tool to do that. So he wasted time trying another route through the studs but found ducting that he could have seen if he had checked out the basement beforehand. Yes, it was visible from the basement but he didn't even bother to look before starting so he cut unnecessary holes in our wall and wasted a ton of time. There was no foresight or planning with this company. He ended up having to run to Home Depot to get the tool and go through the basement like I originally told them. Then the owner threatened to charge me for the tool when I called to discuss the invoice and the wasted time, and he also tried to guilt trip me about wanting the electrician"s" to work for free. You'd think you could trust a professional to know what they're doing but with this company you have to fully determine and plan everything ahead of time because they won't. I should have heeded the warning of another reviewer that the owner is argumentative but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Lastly, they also left insulation on the basement floor without putting it back and the cleanup was sub-par. Still had to sweep and mop after they left. I will say the guys that came to do the work were friendly and the actual electrician seemed knowledgeable. That's about it. Update after owner's comment: He is putting words in my mouth. He never offered to come out, just immediately gave me the quote of one hour when I explained what I needed. I never said it was a few inches, I told him it was a 90 degree turn on the wall a couple feet over. There was ducting--see attached pictures. It is visible from the basement. I wish I had inspected that sooner but of course I trusted the technician to know what to look for and make the appropriate action plan. Once again, I did not ask for free work but wanted an adjustment for the wasted time and all he offered was $50. To reiterate, 2 outlets were more than $800 which is over 4x more than I was quoted even after his discount. It's hard to talk to him on the phone though because he just kept putting words in my mouth and guilt tripping me (as you can see from his response as well). I never specified an amount, I just simply asked if he could work with me on the invoice since so much time had been wasted that they could have easily avoided had they checked out the basement like I told them. He also never gave a quote on material so that extra on the invoice was a surprise as well. When they ran into the issues, they said they were going to get it all taken care of so what did he expect me to do? Ask them leave with the place a mess and the wall left gaping open and nothing actually accomplished? My problem is that they could have so easily inspected the basement, realized their plan wouldn't have worked and done it correctly from the beginning. I was only asking a reduction for the wasted time. And if they had a vacuum to clean, they certainly didn't use it. Let his response be an indicator of how he conducts his business. He's twisting the story, putting words in my mouth, belittling me and astonishingly sent a personal message antagonizing me.
