We were treated the same both times. Glad to see that both adults and so called "kids" are treated thw same no matter what :) Vibe 10/10: It's so pretty!!! The first time I learned about this place, I wanted to go for the pictures. There's a little trolley that you can ride down to the front of the door, or you can walk the stairs. It's somewhat hidden, so it feels so... I don't know how to explain it. The restaurant is below where the parking lot it. I honestly can go on and on about the vibes of this place. The lighting is warm, so many plants too!! Service 10/10: As someone who has worked in the food industry, you always have a line that you say to every single customer. My boyfriend and I joked about jow the server was going down every new table saying the same thing. It was definitely a treat to hear. After the servers gets to know us, I notice that they definitely starts talking on a more personal level. My boyfriend is also on his little "wine craze" so he asked the server to recommend something. He loved what was recommended. Food 9/10: Personally for me, the food wasn't something to go crazy for. It's definitely more of a place where you can talk to each other and sit for dates. Food was still so good though! I can eat that damn mashed potatoes forever though!

It honestly feels like you've stepped into a little hidden fairytale. The ambiance was romantic, cozy and elegant, and the food was delicious. The service was wonderful as well friendly, attentive and made the evening even more enjoyable. What I loved most is that Shadowbrook isn't just somewhere you go for dinner it's an entire experience. Perfect for a date night, birthday, anniversary or simply a special evening in Capitola. We had such a memorable time and would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!

When I asked about purchasing a local cider they carried I was given directions to the maker, what time they opened, and who I should talk to when I get there. Now that's going above and beyond. There was a nice variety of drinks and they were delicious. I loved the layout of the venue very intimate with the stage but still tons of standing room and if you didn't want to be inside with the crowd there was a tv with the ample outside seating where you could watch the band. The bathrooms were very spacious and super clean. The little taco stand in the back was perfect too. The tacos were delicious. I wish we had a place just like Moe's in Sacramento . I will definitely come to Moe's again next time in town.

He asked for my ID despite not asking any of my other family members, even though it was obvious I had arrived with them. That immediately made me question why I was being treated differently due to his tone and professionalism. Throughout the event, he continued staring me down in a way that felt intimidating and unnecessary. Then, after already announcing that there were 15 minutes left before closing, he approached me again and told me I needed to finish my drink right then. The tone and approach felt aggressive and disrespectful. I understand security has a job to do, but there is a professional and respectful way to interact with people. Instead, I left feeling targeted as a Latina, uncomfortable, and unwelcome at an event that was supposed to be about celebrating community and culture.

They run it all the time, including while the live band is playing. WHY? It ruins the sound from the band. I left. There's a lot of table right on the beach, super cool vibe and a great view while you eat. We sat inside since there was no wait for indoor lunch and we still had a great view of the pier and the beach while we ate. The food was good, definitely better than the rating would imply. It wasn't anything Michelin star worthy but for the price, it was what I expected. I ordered a burger which was juicy and flavorful, bacon was a little soft for my liking but the few crunchy pieces were very good. The fries were really good, crispy and salty, just the way I like. Our server was excellent. She was attentive, friendly, and professional. Kept our drinks full but wasn't hovering. Great service!!

We sat indoors this time with the table facing the beach. Seating was prompt, but service took a while. The table felt a little grimy. The table host was nice, very polite. It's the menu and the food that needs a big revamping! Same menu as the last few times; friends ordered fish and chips, chowder in a cup, and I got the Caprese sandwich with fries. And the chowder did not come with the salad. It's sort of boring to have the same thing and it's so few choices! Also a bit too pricey for a very small bowl of chowder. I understand it's a tourist place, but really what about the locals!?!?

Brightly painted in beachy colors with beautiful enormous rattan lighting, and a clean and friendly atmosphere. It has cool wrap-around modern seating benches with boho pillows and mirror wall decor near the pool table. We got to meet super charming Brittany, the owner, and ordered a fried chicken sandwich/fries which was crunchy and yummy and the pile of fries were crispy which we love. Also had buffalo chicken wings - they were so perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. They truly were the best I've had in the area. BUT I cannot say enough how incredibly perfect the Martini that Brittany made me was - A Vodka martini with jalapeño-infused olive juice with two blue-cheese stuffed olives served in an icy fogged martini glass. I think it was called the Spicy Christina. Refreshing and a sipping pleasure. We'll definitely be back for all the above and to try their Waffle-Chicken sandwich. We also got to hang with our favorite local bartender, Christa! She'll make you feel at home with her chatty ways, bar games and good pours!!!! This is a great place to meet up with friends and definitely a local fave. But tourists will love it too - it has such a light and friendly party vibe.
