Recommend place by me? YES I do, my loves. Place is very comfortable to come and have a relax time enjoying some wine testing and snacks like cheese, crackers, dry fruit, salad and more. I do recommend CAPITOLA WINE BAR Merchandise

Don't come hungry, but do come ready to enjoy some wine in a very sweet environment. Capitola wine bar has an adorably homey and friendly vibe and a great selection of wines. Good happy hour deals and trivia every other Thursday. We had the happy hour Sauvignon blanc. It's this or a Malbec and I think maybe beer too. I found the Sauvignon blanc to be lovely and fruity and a very good value. Unfortunately felt the opposite about the value of the cheeseboard and flatbread. Flavors were okay and portion size was very small for the price point. Trivia was adorable and wholesome. Three rounds of multiple choice and winners with a small prize each round. Our server and everyone working were all clearly having fun and were very friendly. Even if the food was a miss, this was such a good vibe and I really enjoyed the wine. Will be back!

Love the Capitola Wine Bar! Such a great place at a great spot. We always get the charcuterie board and a wine flight. I tried the spicy 3 cheese mac and cheese today and very glad I did!

Great visit! We were in town visiting with a good friend. Decided to have dinner and the restaurant had a short wait so we decided to visit! Had enough time to try a couple of flights and found a bottle of Pinot Noir from Willamette Valley, North Valley, that we really enjoyed. We got called into dinner and they brought out flight to the restaurant. Amazing time! Look forward to upcoming visits!

Had the best chill night here the other night! Will def be back again for more yummy sparkling wine, lovely and attentive service, amazing ambiance, and awesome yet chill live music! I think my fave part of this wine bar is that it's adults only. Like, we stopped by to check out a different wine bar before this and there were children everywhere playing and whining, so I def left that place immediately! And luckily stumbled upon this place right after. It was such a chill vibe, more the speed I was looking for to have a relaxing night with a couple glasses of wine. The dude that runs this place was so nice and gave us a choice of a sit down table or seats by the bar. I picked the seats by the bar where we immediately got menus to peruse. I ordered a glass of the Gustave Lorentz sparkling rosé and some water, my date had ginger beer. The rosé was crisp and delicious. On my second glass I was so happy the bartender went ahead and opened another bottle to finish the pour in my glass (like he probz coulda gotten away with not doing that, but I was very pleased that he did to top off my drink right). I absolutely love sparkling wine, so if I find a good place like this, I'll def be back for more. Plus every time my glass was empty, the bartender quickly asked if I wanted another. Just really great service. And the seats were nicely spaced at the bar, not jam packed! After about 15 minutes of sitting down we saw a two person band setting up a stand up bass and guitar. The music was like this mix of country and island sounding music, which was super chill and lovely (Poi Rogers if ya wanna check it out). And the music wasn't overly loud either and so well sounded for the space in the room (could still easily talk to the person next to you). Just lovely music to listen to while drinking a glass of wine! They have other cool nights advertised too, and I'll def be up for trivia night on Thursday's or wine down Wednesday's! Hopefully I'll be able to get there again this week. Also the different live music is really cool too. I know they had a saxophone player yesterday and if they do that again, I'd like to stop by for that too. There's also beautiful local art for sale on the walls of the bar. I've just been the one time so far, but I def loved everything from my drink to service to ambiance, so I'm hopeful I'd get the same experience the next time I'm in!

Nice environment -- I found myself with a few hours to kill in the afternoon and this place fit the bill. Really nice people and amazing wine selection.

Ran into this spot and had to stop to try a glass of wine. The cab's we ordered were pretty good. (On the dry side) The ambience was good as they had a gentleman singing and playing the guitar. I really really enjoyed listening to the live music, drinking my wine, and having my husband next to me. It was like the world was coming back to normal. Stop by and enjoy a glass. The service was great. The ladies in there were very attentive and kind. Hoping to be back next weekend.

Walking in the ambiance is welcoming. Doug and Ann Marie have a great selection of food, wine, and beer. Best service in town with great stories about all of the different wines.

Live music, great wine selection and tasty eats. Visited on a Friday night, sat at the bar top with great service by owner. Artisan cheese board was great and they accommodated nut allergy. I highly recommend getting the larger as the small just makes you want more, I ended up getting a second one it was that good! Doug's cup o' mac was cheesy and delicious! The have bar, table, lounge and outside seating! Highly recommended and can't wait to be back!

Charming ambiance, a cozy corner table, live music and my darling date, all made for an enchanted evening. We ordered local ( Santa Cruz Mountain) Pinot Noir the pesto flatbread and the charcuterie board. Our table was near the fireplace and we were so comfortable. All other patrons, including those of the canine variety were very relaxed and happy. A perfect place for a date. Service was appropriately attentive. Afterwards my date got his nerdy headlamp out and we took a late Friday night, stargazing beach walk before heading back to the Bay Area.

I absolutely adore this place: my favorite spot in the village. I admire that this wine bar does not exist on its location alone. Rather, this bar boasts excellent service, fun wine pairings, and decent food options...while the ocean breeze serenades you. I tend to meet girlfriends here for gabbing and sipping. But, my mom also requests visiting this bar every time she visits. I love the flights. But, the per glass options are decent and affordable (especially considering you are in the village). I specifically respect that they showcase a unique assortment of bubbles, white wines and roses. There is a very kind, woman who usually works here. She has very eclectic jewelry, but I have no idea what her name is? She is very knowledgeable and helpful. Finally, for food, I recommend the green hummus/flatbread and the olives. Thanks for including some dairy free snacks for the lactose intolerant/pescatarian! I look forward to visiting again soon.

I'm not sad to bench the Pizza Port hat I've kept alive since a San Diego visit in 2022, but it's been in the fight one round too long. I washed it once in the dishwasher, as it claimed it could handle, and the logo is barely legible anymore. I love it, and will keep it, but this Beer Thirty hat is clean. Barely touched. Except by the cat? Some feline fuzz up on that shelf clings to the bill. I don't see a cat anywhere. Nocturnal, perhaps. This lid is bright and optimistic. Gotta don the cap before the sando arrives, lest I prematurely age it with grease spots. For now, it's a pristine, high-contrast, six-color surge atop my ridiculous hair. After lunch, it will probably attract local canines, who love a salted pork perfume with subtle notes of meow. Working backward, the second order of business was to order from the adjacent restaurant, Carpo's. Hard to go wrong with a BLT. Order of business number one, obviously, was to choose my brunch beer. I'm an aging West Coast IPA enthusiast who in recent years has moderated my dwindling prime by embracing West Coast Pilsners as an alternative, and for good reason. After a couple West Coast IPA's I sometimes lose all sense of space, time, propriety. Beers three and four become a forgone conclusion, and then I'll find myself at the Over The Hill Gang Saloon singing Eddie Rabbit to beers number six and seven. The pils, with it's 1.5% reduction in ABV, sets me up for a sustainable buzz and helps reduce the likelihood of my needing bail money later. Today is the first day of vacation, however, so 7% IPA it is! I get most of it down with the appearance of control, without seeming like too much of a day drunk, but I slug back the rest real quick in order to procure the second beer before the BLT arrives. IPA number two and I resettle at the picnic table. And just as I take a fresh swig and exhale the last two weeks of stress, I think to myself. I could sit here all fucking day. Outdoor, shaded patio, about the size of an NBA court. One half allows kids. The other, the one with cornhole, does not. I used to love having a place to take my kids when they were younger, so they could run around and watch me and others drink. Now that the babies are all grown up, I do not want to drink with children. Is that strange? Bully for the owners to consider both approaches. A little after midday on a Monday, there are no kids. Just me, some dude on his phone, and three old hippies, scattered about the place. We, the five of us, are each flying solo. Yet each is more content than the next. No male loneliness epidemic here. Just some dudes zenning out instead of carrying day jobs. "Dennis!?" Carpo's window suddenly is calling my name. Good timing. I was trending toward beers three and four without food in my belly, so this will help slow my roll. Two West coast brews in, it's only 1:30pm. Here, they arm you with a sandwich if you need one and throw you into the ring. One half of the BLT got tabasco, an old fave. The other half got a sriracha I've never seen before. They spar for top masculine condiment. Nobody sticks around to see who wins. Each is its own pre-bout steroidal flex, and like most fights, the interest is in the hype, the build up. When they finally go toes, it fizzles. Indeed by the time I wolfed the first half, I barely tasted the Tabasco. I got some light notes of spice in the sriracha side, but the referee was the story tonight. Mr. Bacon, he ran a steady ship, put a kibosh on all the nonsense, moderated the entire battle with an able, yummy, smoky hand. Casinos and books are usually the real winners in these fights. Their role was today played by toasted sourdough. OMG was the bread good! I have one more swazzle remaining of my beer. Strike that. Two swazzles. Time enough for just a few more words. I will save them for texting my Oakland pals to let them know how much I love this place.

For Sante Adairius the beer that Steve and I had and I can report liked was their IPA known as Spots and Dots. This IPA was a bit more refreshing and fun compared to some IPA'S where it just seems like a blur from one brewery to the next and you wonder if you actually went to a different brewery from the previous one if you have IPA'S back to back. So in this regard I am happy to say that it was distinctive and had it's own signature. Flavor highlights with this IPA are hoppy, juicy and bitter. The beer is also aromatic and smooth. They amusingly describe their pizzas as "unauthentic Detroit style". Lol. I saw a few go out and they are pricey ($30ish) for what seems like a size that 2 could split with zero leftovers. But they also elevate their ingredients like a mushroom and nettle version and another with Nduja, pineapple and anchovy, not for rigid unadventurous palates. But Sante Adairius brews some interesting brews. They do many in Belgium fashion but with Cali sensibilities. Saisons and sours many are aged in wooden barrels. I didn't try any of those...yet. They also do well made Cali-style heavily hopped brews. I did try a West Coast IPA and a Rustic Pils and was very satisfied. They were both very clean and true to style. I also loved how they offer a smaller glass as to make sampling more conducive. Think $9 for a full glass and $5 for the smaller glass which seemed bigger than most other places 'sampler' size. I just found out on their website that they have a tap room (different name) in Oakland, so I do have a closer outlet for me to try more of their brews. But this one in Santa Cruz is so chill and unique that next time I'm in town, I wouldn't hesitate in stopping by again.
