This place deserves 10+ stars and above! The manager ( maria) was unbelievable kind to my family and I. Aa soon as we got to the office she clicked with us. I felt like I've known her forever. She felt absolutely bad when the rustic cabins were not what we expected as a family. I asked for an upgrade to the nice king condos. She found one open for us to stay. We loved the place so much. It had a fully stocked kitchen. Full size fridge/ stove,and a microwave. A set of adorable bunk beds,then a queen size room. It was just super cozy and clean! Had a nice deck with chairs and even a ceiling fan outside. They had a fire pit and a nice 8 person table and chairs near the fire pit. Maria even let us borrow a golf cart for free for the week. What fun! I took a ride everyday. Alicia was so sweet to do a potoskey stone class for us ,and a tie dye class , even though they were not scheduled. She arranged for boo- boo bear came out to join my husband and girls on the ' Hey, hey" ride. ( it's a tractor pulling a wagon) and he drives around the campground and give the campers a ' Hey hey" So fun and creative! We absolutely had a wonderful week there at potoskey jellystone resort . I went here with my boyfriend and his parents and we all had a wonderful time! The cabins are very cute with swings and grills, very rustic camping feel outside as well as having lots of facilities/things to do for children m! We had a small issue with one of the electrical outlets in our cabin one night and when we told the employees the next morning they immediately came to fix it, comped some money off of our bill, and even brought some goodies for us to make up for it. Excellent experience!! The park is beautiful and meticulously maintained. It was a pure joy to spend our vacation here. We rented the King bed cabin KL109 with fireplace and we're thrilled when we saw it. Pictures were not on the website yet so we were a little hesitant when we booked it. Oh my goodness it far exceeded our hopes! The paved street, which I believe has 12 units, 6 on each side of the street is lovely. Every unit has a small gravel driveway, and a concrete patio with a table that seats 6, along with a gas bbq. There was a raised porch with brand new outdoor wicker furniture and a gas fireplace WITH a mounted television! I am attaching pictures but please note these were taken after we packed up to check out so the bed is not fully made. The interior was immaculate when we checked in. There was even a loft area with a full size mattress on the floor. Our granddaughter spent every night with us. Our daughter's family was right around the corner on one of the RV campsites. We brought linens just to be safe but didn't need them. Everything was supplied. I have to add that the staff was so friendly and professional and the pool, playground, store, and all amenities were perfectly maintained! I can't wait to go back next summer! read more

The park was nice, lots of kids. The lot was very unlevel. The park is split into the very nice (and expensive) new part and the older (still expensive) "poverty" side. The pool is nice however you have to walk through a gross bathroom in order to get into the pool. The small dog park tucked back in the woods was a plus and the staff was friendly but the price to stay here was ungodly expensive. $120/night.... There are much nicer private/state parks in Michigan and in Petoskey for 30-40$/night. We made the best of it but probably not going back unless they come back down to earth with their prices! read more

By far, the nicest KOA we've stayed at! The staff recommended a site change due to nearby construction. The grounds are beautiful and spotless. The showers and restrooms are clean and updated. There is a gated entry for security and privacy. Highly recommend! read more

The most amazing relaxing experience ever! I don't ever want to stay at another hotel again, KOA is the way to go! Our cabin was the perfect size for our family, (we are a family of five). My kids favorite part was being able to sit outside, enjoy the campfire and roasting marshmallows for s'mores! I'm so excited to plan our next trip here!! read more

Stayed here last year ... They made us break out the back window of our truck and damage the top of the cab! Their guy said "keep your eyes on me ... don't try to back yourself in" By us doing that ... his directions made us break out our back window. After that I jumped out and backed my husband right into the spot, and it was not all like the directions the guy was trying to do ... he did not have a clue about the best way to get us in. We were told to contact the Manager ... which we did by email ... and never got a response. They should have paid for the replacement! Bathrooms are disgusting. Even when you go in after the very young cleaning staff. A dirty tampon was on the floor for 4 consecutive days. Unacceptable if any type of cleaning is happening. With the amount of cabins on the property, more needs to be invested into cleaning frequency and quality. read more

Nice place, they are expanding and making the campground bigger. My complaints: the pool is advertised to be open until 9 on the flyer that they hand you upon checking in, but until 8? by the pool, but if you ask what time it closes, it's 7-730. When we got to our site, a ranger helped us back in (little rusty and I appreciated the help) and was great! The ladies in the store are super nice too. Site wasn't cleaned however, as there were cigarette butts everywhere and some small trash bits. Overall a nice stay, but dimmed due to the pool being closed inside of advertised hours. read more

There are several nice points about this camp ground. It's pretty clean, decent amenities, and kind staff. Unfortunately though there are several other points that made it less appealing at least for me. First, they only have three restrooms for the entire campground and two and right next to each other. And they clean the restrooms between 8-9 AM (all at the same time). Isn't that when most people wake up? So I had to tell my very full bladder to deal for 20 minutes while I waited. Also no parking at the main store, laundry, etc. So how do you bring all your laundry from a week of camping? Carry it by hand??? Finally, they apparently have adult only swim between 9-10 AM. So we have to check out by 11 but kids can't go into the pool until 10? These might be petty annoyances, but for us after paying a significant amount of money, they just made for a less than stellar experience. read more

I flew into Michigan for a family reunion that we held in Petosky, our extended family booked a whole quarter-section of KOA. We got there on a Friday night, arriving around 8:30pm, and from the moment we got there, our family was harassed almost immediately from the "manager," KEN. The 14 year old trapped in the 85-year old's body, Ken, was on a major power-trip. Once the sun went down, my sister and her husband invited me in a car ride around the campground to kill time and bond. After a few laps around the park, Adolf--er Ken--and her silent wife stopped us in his golf cart asking us if we needed help. Granted, I'm sure I seemed suspicious because I was in the back seat with my hood up and we were circling slowly around the grounds--but we weren't doing anything wrong. Ken, in his golf cart, led us to where to park--on the outside of the grounds, then stayed in park behind us waiting for us to get out of our car. I surely believed that we could sit peacefully in a car, apparently not--just another thing we apparently could not do... After sitting in the car long enough to realize that he wasn't going to leave, we got out of the car, and started playing 20 Questions with us--eventually we walked back to our cabin, he didn't offer to drive us back on his cart, and came to meet him again waiting at our cabin to interrogate our whole family more. After making enough of a scene to drive my 7-year old niece to tears, he finally went on his way probably to spy on us the whole night to see if we were breaking any rules on a Friday night family vacation. There's more than that regarding Ken, but in addition to all that: There was no warm water, let alone hot water, after the very first shower-- no hot water for dishes and for the shower, as if they purposely shut off the pilot light. We're never going back again. read more

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. There is SO much green space and trees! It's well maintained and clean. The location is close to Petoskey and Harbor Springs with lots of restaurants and shopping. Love this place and can't wait to return next year. read more

The Petoskey KOA is a great campground! You can choose from RV sites, rustic campsites, tent sites with electric/water, and cabins. The ladies who checked us in were super sweet and very helpful. They told us the hours for the store, where the bathrooms were, the schedule of activities, etc. Someone on a golf cart escorted us right to our site, which had a picnic table, fire pit, gravel pad for the tent and a wooden shelter! It was great. They also sell firewood and ice, and you can add it to your account and pay for it at the end so you don't have to have cash, which was really nice. There are daily activities including ice cream socials, gaga ball tournaments, movie nights, pancake breakfasts, etc. There is a pool and hot tub, and the bathrooms have regular showers. The pool area is pretty small, and we didn't use it, but it looked clean and nice. The campground is a short drive to downtown Petoskey and walking distance to Petoskey Brewing Company. I really liked the amenities of the place, so I didn't mind paying more than you would at a state park. (We paid $50 per night for a tent site with electric and water.) The only complaint I have is that some of the other campers around us didn't seem to have a grasp on basic campsite etiquette. One guy on the site near us came over to our site one evening and started ripping part of a live tree out of the ground for his fire poker stick! The campground wasn't too crowded when we were there (we were on a corner site and didn't have anyone on the sites directly next to us), but in the busy season I am sure it gets packed with kids and families. If you're not looking to share your camping experience with a ton of children, I would suggest booking the KOA during off-peak times or check out a state park instead. read more

This is one of the best KOA campgrounds I've been to! The sites were farther apart than most KOA's and the people were great. This campground is a short drive (2 miles) from town, so the location is nice and quiet. Usually KOA's are noisy, but not this one. We will be back! read more

The campground is amazing. Our site was really good, although the fire pit was terrible. Our picnic table was clean and our site was really big. The bathrooms by the pool were clean. The pickle ball courts and sand volley ball court were really nice. The basketball court was only half court but was really nice nonetheless. The pool was kind of small and a bit crowded. It wasn't the nicest pool, but it was refreshing. The guy that brought us to our site was strange but friendly enough. read more

We have the worst site ever in this park #222. There is another campsite that intersects ours and we feel like the people are sitting in our campsite...unable to even enjoy the outdoors as there isn't even a 6 foot social distancing proximity between the 2 campsites in this Covid-19 world. So unfortunate that KOA even allowed these sites to be booked at the same time! read more

Nice campground for families with kids. The swimming pool is very popular as is the ice cream and pizza in the cafe. The full hookup sites are paved and level and the cable TV is very good. The WiFi is very slow and most of the time doesn't work at all. Lots of kids on the weekends and the sites are very close together. A little expensive for what you really get. read more

I was blown away by the sites and the quality of the stay. Kids had a great time in the warm pool. Staff was friendly and polite. This campground is clearly focused on families and retirees. Cool to watch the snow birds in their monster RVs. Campground is well maintained. Dog park is a great treat for our little companion. We will certainly return again. read more

Our family has held our family reunion at the Petoskey K.O.A. for at least 10 years now & unfortunately it will be our last due to the unbelievable intimidation that we felt within 2 hours of checking in. Apparently young men in their 20's are not allowed to walk the grounds while talking on the phone after the sun goes down. (My 24 year old son was made to feel like a hoodlum looking to rob/disturb somebody, when he was just strolling around, talking to his girlfriend in CA.) Apparently a young couple is not allowed to slowly drive around the grounds after dark to check out the rest of the campsites. (They were taking a MUCH needed break from their over tired 7 & 4 year old girls.) Apparently the management will NOT take the promise of guests when it comes to abiding by the maximum sleeping arrangements in each lodge. (Our cabin held 6, yet our party contained 7 people, so we pre-arranged to have our 24 year old stay with another family in the clan for sleeping purposes, yet we were bombarded by insinuations & severely chastised because the manager was still convinced beyond "normal" conversations that were still trying to allow 7 people to stay when that was NOT the case at all.) The manager even came knocking at our door to check our sleeping arrangements out and found that we had brought an air mattress so the tiny little 4 year old wouldn't fall out of the bunk bed onto a hard wooden floor. She wanted to be by her mommy and daddy who were sleeping on the futon in the living room. All this being said, not a single K.O.A. staff member seemed to remember the common courtesy of asking a few civilized clarifying questions before the manager, Ken, lost it and escalated all three "incidents" into something well beyond what it should have. Even when my husband told him repeatedly that everything was taken care of, Ken would not let go and seemed to want to continue a full blown argument in front of the entire family, bringing tears to both little girls because he was so loud and mean towards their grandpa. When my husband said that it was "done", Ken continued to taunt him saying "Do you want to continue?" over and over again because he apparently was not done chastising a man who only wanted to spend some quality time at this family reunion. Maybe some sensitivity training should be provided to the entire staff as none of them seemed happy to be there. All seemed quite short on patience and kindness. I'll blame the full moon on this one as we have had very successful reunions in the past, but that's what they will be from now on, in the past, as all of the clan members were horrified at how our individual family was treated. read more
