I know...I said I wouldn't come back here, but the place is so beautiful and I was in the area,…read moreso...it was much better than last time. First, let me say thank you to our 2 waiters, Ezekiel and Marlon. They both provided excellent service and were very integral in my positive review and experience. The atmosphere here continues to be romantic and idyllic: with a view of the beautiful Ponta Negra Beach in Natal and the famous Morro do Careca ("Bald Hill") in the distance. The food is very nicely plated, and while the seasoning was okay this time, it was still a little unbalanced. I really enjoyed the Sorrentinos (Argentinian version of ravioli) the last time, and while the presentation was very attractive, the sauce had too much lime. I ordered the commemorative dish (Prato da Boa Lembrança) because I collect these plates. It consisted of shredded dried beef with fried curd cheese (queijo coalho) served on a bed of refried black-eyed peas (which had a very bitter taste). Visually, it was striking, but the taste missed the mark. I was happy to have celebrated my birthday having lunch here, but, while the food is not as good as they think it is, it is still worth a visit.

Mini tapiocas can be orderd if you want to try a few flavor, but you probably can't go wrong with any order. They use quality ingredients and prepare delicious sauces, and even have drinks and ice cream with tapioca. The service was excellent on our first visit, and the only reason it lost a star is because of management. I came back with a larger group on a night that was crowded, and management did not schedule enough servers. It took us three hours when the group was tired from a long day and wanted to get in and out fast. Even with three hours, we had to cancel our dessert order because of delays. I recommended a dish that I had on the previous visit to a friend, and it was served without the herb sauce that made it worthwhile. I noticed someone at another table who ordered the same thing and didn not receive it either, leaving the dish to be unpleasantly dry. To make things worse, management does not charge 10% for service, which is customary in Brazil, with many servers working with legislators to make sure this is charged and passed on to them in all restaurants. When we went to pay, I witnessed a manager accusing a client of buying an old menu with lower prices in order to save $2.50 off the bill! When the client insisted this was absurd, the manager said he wouldn't charge the client, but would pass the expense on to the server. Great servers and food, but management needs to consider the servers and customers more!

Oh la la! This is a great place if you are looking for some quality French cuisine. This place is…read moretucked inside the majestic hotel (pretty darn good looking Best Western) and the most notable French restaurant in the area (taxi driver didn't know it by name but knew the best French restaurant was at the Majestic). With a highly ranked French chef, you can expect a great meal. The setting for formal, with a hostess to seat you, and a champagne cart rolled out to offer you a drink to start. There's a full bar with plenty of wine options and fresh juices and delicious coffees as well. They have normal sized portions so don't expect a family sized meal to share as many of the restaurants in the area do. This is quite nice because you can sample a number of things and not feel overstuffed. We had a half bottle of a Chilean wine, a suco and water to drink. The wine options were numerous so it should be easy to find something you like. I had the crab ravioli entrada which was bathed in a sweet maracaju (passion fruit) sauce which was delicious. Also tried the 6 hour lamb which was very tender and tasty. This dish is definitely worth a try even if you are not a fan of lamb. It did not tasty gamey and was very nicely played with a small copper pot of mashed potatoes. Last but not least, you must save room for dessert. The server recommended the petit gateau verdade (the real kind, implying it wasn't overly sweet like many Brazilian style desserts). It consisted of a fluffy chocolate cake with molten chocolate that pours out once punctured and delicious ice cream on a bed of nutella and toasted almonds. Absolutely superb! Service was excellent and ambiance was pristine, which sparkly chandeliers and dim lighting. They even offer you a truffle on your way out. It may be difficult to catch a taxi on that busy street, so the hotel will easily call one for you.
