Came by Jeni's as this was recommended to me by a few people, it was our first time visiting Kentucky & Ohio so we had to stop by before heading home. This location is so cute, it's got some patio seating as well. There's parking right outside that is limited to 15min. The staff was nice, however I can tell they were getting a bit impatient with us sampling some of the flavours. It was hard to pick! Everything tasted so good! They had half scoops which is little, haha not enough for us we ended up getting their most popular which is 3 half scoops. $7.80! I think ice cream just might be my favorite food and I KNOW Jeni's Ice Cream is the best there is so when I saw a story about their new flavor, I immediately made plans to drive the 45 minutes to their nearest scoop shop! The flavor, Opaque, is a dark black and tastes like dark chocolate brownie batter. Their description mentions balsamic cherries as well but I didn't pick up on that at all. Because their flavors are so unique and always delicious, we always go for their trio of half scoops. In addition to Opaque, I also got Popcorn Brittle, and Lemon Bar. The lemon bar threw me because I was expecting tart lemon but it was more coconut flavored with sweet lemon, I definitely think the name is misleading. It was pretty good but could not compete with Opaque and Popcorn Brittle (which was my favorite of the three) The servers were friendly and hard working. There was a stead stream of patrons the whole time we were there and the employees kept the line moving. This mostly a scoop shop with not a lot of seating, three small tables with two chairs each and a bar with about 6 stools. They had plenty of outdoor seating as well. read more

I visited for my free birthday scoop (highly recommend joining Jeni's reward program on the app!) and I was excited to try their dairy free flavors after recently going dairy free. I appreciate that there's plenty of parking at the Factory 52 location and fun seating options outside. Even though it was a hot day, it was nice to sit in the shade of the cool art installations and enjoy Factory 52 a bit. The actual DF ice cream was quite good. I haven't checked into the ingredients but they seem to be coconut based, however I could hardly tell they were DF and really felt like I was enjoying some good ice cream. I got lemon bar and Texas sheet cake flavors- it's nice that you can get multiple flavors even in one scoop because they'll do half scoops! I only took off one star because our experience was a little inconsistent- my husband got waffle cone pieces that separated his flavors in his dish and I did not so the flavors ran together a bit. My size was larger so it wasn't an upgrade thing, it just seemed they were dished up differently. It's also very expensive. I know ice cream is pricy anywhere you go but this is one of he most expensive places in Cincinnati, with the small "Standard" size being almost $7 for 2 tiny scoops, probably 4-5 bites of ice cream. For this reason, I'll be back for my birthday treats and deals, but I'll stick with UDF or Graeters or grab a pint from the store to save a bit. read more

Jeni's is always a great after lunch or dinner treat! Come here on a Saturday afternoon after eating lunch at Factory 52. To I'm our surprise, the like was pretty short! That means you must go :) Jeni's is all made from scratch ice cream and they are rich and smooth and very creamy. They use a buttercream base to the ice cream which I love as that makes the flavors so bold. You can always find unique flavors here that you don't ever get at a normal ice cream shop and that's what I love as I get sick of the same boring flavors. I always love to get the waffle bowl and do 2 scoops. I got the Bastani Sonnati which is a collab flavor with The Hundreds and it is so rich in flavor. It remind me of my favorite Indian Kulfi ice cream. It's got saffron, rose water and pistachio flavors. It's a bright and deep yellow color to add some spice to your bowl. I also got the gooey butter cake. The caramel butterscotch sauce is addicting. I was so full after eating the 2 scoops and bowl. There are always so many new and seasonal flavors to try. This ice cream is truly splendid! First found out about it from a Yelp event, and knew I'd be back. I'd be back more if I didn't live an hour drive away. The whole area is fun to visit, there are several restaurants and 2 breweries as well as interesting art commemorating the playing card factory that was repurposed. Anyway, back to the ice cream. We've been buying the ice cream at Target for years but have been thrilled to get it fresh locally. The shop is tiny but cute. Save for one dicey experience with an unfriendly employee, we generally have great interactions here. Went half an hour before close with 2 friends (we are all young). There were plenty of people in the store. When we came in, the worker immediately got upset with us and told us to shut the door. When a gentleman behind us in line made the same mistake, he was not confronted. Also, we were not greeted when we came in, whilst everyone else got a "welcome in!!". Another worker was mad because we were standing in front of the glass where we were being served and she scolded us telling us to move up. It was not friendly. The ice cream is delicious and so creamy. You can tell then use only the best ingredients in all their batches. I love that they make their waffle bowls and cones in house; the smell can draw you in from outside. My only complaint is that they don't carry as many of the unique flavors as they do in their other scoop shops in Columbus. They mostly only had the basic flavors you can find in grocery stores here. After hearing all the hype about Jeni's from my Columbus friends, I had very high expectations. After trying it, I can safely say that I was not disappointed by any means. I was really excited to see that Jeni's was opening up a location in Norwood. It is right in the heart of Factory 52, and has a lovely patio area outside of it. Upon walking in, the space is very clean and bright from the floor to ceiling windows. The staff greeted me right away, and offered to let me try a few flavors first as I had never had Jeni's before. Ultimately, I decided to go with a scoop of the gooey butter cake, coffee with cream and sugar, and the high five candy bar. All three were AMAZING. I especially enjoyed the gooey butter cake. I got my bowl in a waffle cone too, which they make in house. This was perfect as I prefer to eat ice cream in bowls, but love a good cone once in a while. This one was delicious too. Checked out the Jeni's location recently opened in Factory 52. This is a great addition to the Norwood/Oakley area & even all of Cincinnati! The unique flavors are what sets this place apart from other ice cream shops...my personal favorite is the Texas Sheet Cake flavor which is dairy free...you'd never be able to tell the difference. The gooey butter cake is also delicious. Easy in & out service, and great options for outdoor seating as you have the entire Factory 52 community to choose from.
