I ask questions through their website, via email, through the various auction sites they use and I rarely get a response - when I do, I typically make a purchase. They dropped the ball on my last question I had asked, as depending on what the answer was, it was going to be a six figure purchase - but because of no response, I passed.... There is something coming up to auction that will be several thousand $s - I know they have it, but can't get them to tell me when it is going to come up. A shame they treat their customer like this.

Fool me twice...? Never again. There's plenty of good auctions nearby and in Montreal;, Westport Auctions, Kavanaugh's, and Nadeau's are among the ones that are professionally and courteously run that I've had a great experience doing business with.

You do have to be willing to dig through the contents of multiple outbuildings to find your treasures. Be sure to go out back after checking the contents of the main barn - the long building reached through the alley is full of more choice items. Even better, you can sell your outgrown furnishings to the Houstons and know they will live on and be appreciated and enjoyed in someone else's home. My sister furnished a whole vacation home from Houston's and it looks great. Worth the time to keep an eye on the treasures that arrive at random intervals. Houston's Furniture Barn is a community resource.
