CUP...CAKES with heavy emphasis on the CAKE. I stopped by here through a YELP saves the day trip as I needed a dessert on the way to a birthday party and BAM I rocked that party. Everyone was in love with the cupcakes from JenniCakes. I stopped by right before closing and the owner/ baker was hanging with her kids who were off for Spring break. PLUS one for supporting small local businesses. I asked for a dozen cupcakes to go and it was very difficult to choose just 12. The cupcakes were beautifully decorated for Easter and the flavors were a mix of the old classics like carrot cake and red velvet and new, soon to be favorites, like french toast and bacon. In the end I had a taste of the carrot cake and french toast and overall the dense moist richness of the cake really stood out. Excellent quality and flavor. The icing was just there for decoration but it still had a good taste. I would definitely like to return to try their chocolate bomb cupcake and the oreo as they were popular at the party. read more

There's a variety of cupcakes to try and we opt for : Oreos, death by chocolate, Samoa's, cotton candy sprinkle & salted caramel boy of boy were they not only delicious but reasonable $2.50 per cupcake but got them $2.00 a piece. The cake I bought from here was delicious, it had a nice thick, full body, almost pound cake texture but still somehow tasted light and delicious. However I also bought 2 gluten-free cupcakes and one was so stale and old and dry it crumbled to pieces almost before I could try it. The other was good. The icing was delicious overall. read more

I think I had too high of hopes for JenniCakes. I am from Toms River and used to make the trip to Point every few months just for cupcakes but that shop has since closed. That shop was small like Jenni's, but still managed to have a beautifully large case full of fresh cupcakes and pupcakes which was great for the pups. Jenni's is small, very very small and the parking is a pain. (Try to park in the back, avoid pulling in from the Hooper Ave side - its a nightmare!) I was disappointed the few times I've been they didn't have any "pup"cakes (maybe they don't even do that, again my own high expectations so not docking them for that) - but the cupcake arrangement was just blah. All times I've walked in I felt pressured and rushed. :/ read more

Was very disappointed by the cake for my Mom's 80th birthday. Looked nice but it was not at all what I asked for! No strawberries or custard to be found in the filling at all. And the real whip cream icing requested was not what came on this cake. Who got my cake!? The one delivered was an imposter. For important family occasion like this we were really counting Jennicake to come through and instead they let us down. read more

I'm so glad I decided to take the leap and pick this place based on reviews. Jenni did an amazing job putting together my son's first birthday cake. It's more than I could have hoped for and came with a complimentary smash cake. We had the party in Lavallette and the 15 minute drive out there from the barrier islands is 100% worth it. The cake itself was so good too. We picked the lemon cake with lemon curd, but there are so many options! So light and delicious. I can't recommend this place more!! read more

What a cute little place! I purchased an assortment of cupcakes for my sister's birthday. JennieCakes had so many interesting flavors and when they didn't have one that I wanted to try, the woman at the counter didn't hesitate to make one for me. Very courteous. My only complaint is that it is very hot in the store and I felt it was a little strange to have the store so hot and the cupcakes in an unrefrigerated display case. This is a tough review because I have to separate the cake from the customer service. The cake for my son's 4th birthday party was exactly what I asked for- a little expensive but it looked amazing and tasted even better. When I went to pick up the cake, horrendous customer service. I wish I had taken my business somewhere else. I went into the shop, was the only person there but it took over 20 minutes to leave with my cake. I had ten bags of ice in my car and they all melted because the woman there did not know where the box was, where the order was, how to scan a credit card, where the thing to sign was- i was furious. And now my daughter's birthday is in two weeks so as much as I wanted to use them again, I refuse. read more

She did my grooms cake a few years ago... the detail was amazing, and I asked for a cake with a big daddy from bioshock. It was perfect, and in standing 3D, down to the smallest detail. If you need a special cake then she can get the job done.. no matter how complicated what you ask for is. I am embarrassed to serve the cupcakes a family member for me picked up from Jennie-cakes today. I thought I was seeing things because it was truly messy looking, unprofessional and careless. I have seen better and cheaper work done at ShopRite! The website pictures are so amazing and fascinating that I could not wait to see these cupcakes. I was beyond disappointed. When I called to politely complain I did not speak with the owner because she was in a meeting. She said she would have her call me back. I did receive a phone call back,but not from the owner who was there but I guess didn't care to hear what I had to say. The girl made up all types of excuses why they could have looked the way they did & tried to make me feel like I am not the cupcake expert. Maybe is was a bad day for Jenniecakes.
