I went to Mandoli's for my daughters baby shower cake and am so beyond elated at what we got!! I would leave 10 stars if I could!! When I met with the owner to discuss what my daughter liked, (but I knew it wouldn't feed all her guests), she suggested a small personal cake for my daughter. I thought it was an amazing idea! When I opened the boxes and saw these cakes I was blown away!!! Not only did they taste AMAZING, they looked gorgeous. Everyone at the party loved the cakes and asked where I got them. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE I bought a cake and was asked during pickup if it would be consumed that day. It was, so I was told to leave it out at room temp. Well, the top layer of the cake slipped off the bottom layer and then the top cracked in half. I attempted to privately resolve this by email and was told that they've never seen that before, had no explanation and they were sorry. SORRY?! That's it. I got an "I'm sorry" That doesn't make up for the fact that my cake was ruined, before we even got to enjoy it, before we got to sing happy birthday. My cake, which was not cheap ($45 for an 8") looked like a pile of crap. Beyond embarrassing! Good customer service is trying to resolve a problem, not just an I'm sorry. I have given this bakery business many times over the last few years. I won't be returning again. read more

Mandolis makes beautiful cakes upon any request. I was sooo glad I found them. BUT , their cakes are very dry. I had them make 3 cakes for different occasions. All 3 cakes were dry. My sisters birthday cake wasn't even edible, all the kids didn't even finish it so most of it was thrown away. Their cake is very expensive , they look fantastic but they need to taste just as amazing. I contacted them about the third cake but they were not accommodating stating their white cake is drier than their other cakes. It's a shame because I thought I found my cake place. read more

Hands down the greatest cupcakes I have ever had. The frosting to cupcake ratio is PERFECT. I hate when I go places and all I taste is the sugary frosting. Not only are the cupcakes delicious with unique flavors in addition to standard options, but they are also beautifully designed. Getting one of their awesome custom crafted cakes is amazing for a special day, but the cupcakes are perfect for the every day. Customer Service is key and these ladies really know what they are doing. I was pleased and felt comfortable from the start due to one of the girls had attended Johnson & Wales University (culinary school in Rhode Island). I ordered a cake for my mothers 60th birthday several months before the actual event. If anyone is interested in purchasing a cake from Mandoli's I would suggest it be one of the first things to do on your list before your event. The ladies were extremely helpful throughout the whole process from start to finish plus delivery. Next, is the cake itself. The cake was the focal point on the candy bar displayed for my event and lets just say it turned some heads. I WISH I had their business cards. The cake it self was delicious ! Vanilla with Raspberry filling. After currently working in the events industry I was extremely impressed by this company compared to another cake company within the Ocean & Monmouth County area that many venues recommend (The Chocolate Carousel) Personally, I think this company blows them out of the water. Outstanding service that exemplified a "can-do" attitude with freindly and caring interaction. I needed a birthday cake delivered for my Aunt. I am out of state and wasnt having much luck finding a local bakery that would accept the order on such short notice. Luckliy I called Mandoli's late Saturday afternoon with the hope that a cake could be delivered that following Monday. I was pleasantly surprised that they not only accepted the order but also delivered it as soon as my Aunt got home from work. This went above and beyond any bakery I have ever encountered. STEER CLEAR from this place! I am EXTREMELY disappointed. I would give ZERO stars if I could. I have been a loyal customer to them for many years and they have been my go-to bakery for custom made cupcakes for special occasions. I even RAVED about them to my friends and colleagues and they too have been going to this bakery. However, that all changed today. My friend and I had ordered custom cupcakes for a birthday celebration. We were very specific and we know the drill already since we have been ordering at this bakery. They even have it written in their order form! The day came when I picked up the cupcakes, they had made a mistake on one of them so I had asked NICELY if they could change it. One of the girls in the back (dark hair) was EXTREMELY upset and started cursing and using the F WORD saying "I am so fired up!" and "This is not the day". And basically complaining in the back about the one mistake THEY did. I heard EVERYTHING she said. Very UNNECESSARY and UNPROFESSIONAL! She then came out to print out on fondant to correct the mistake but she was having a TANTRUM while she was at it! Throwing and slamming the drawer etc. That is not how you deal with a client and the other girl was very nice and apologetic when I had mentioned her unacceptable behavior saying that the other girl was having a bad day. The lady cussing up a storm in her bakery did not even come out to apologize! No excuses! It was an unpleasant experience and the 8 cupcakes were not well worth the $40 we spent! I am (almost) at a loss trying to describe how completely wonderful my experience at Mandoli's was. I needed a wedding cake for a group of people that included gluten allergies, nut allergies, and a couple of just plain really picky people. But i also wanted this cake--my wedding cake!!--to be beautiful and taste good. AND I wanted no hassle. What I got was beyond what I expected. First of all, these ladies are so kind and helpful and fun! They worked with me to make sure everyone had something they could eat, and the presentation was stunning. Frankly, spending time in Mandoli's planning the cake with these ladies wa one of the high points of all of my wedding planning.
