I wish I could give Jennifer Loomis Photography 6 stars! My husband purchased a family photo session with Jennifer for my birthday. Our family includes "furbabies," we do not have (human) children, so I did not know what to expect going into this photo session. I had seen Jennifer's extraordinary work capturing pregnancy and children, but would she think we were being ridiculous with our dogs? Jennifer's embrace of our family could not have been more welcoming! First, she knew exactly how to make us feel relaxed in her studio with wine, cheese and great music. And there were toys for the dogs! She was so excited to meet Beans (10 y Frenchie) and Arrow (2 y Lab) and she allowed them full roam of her studio. I soon learned that Jennifer has a furbaby of her own and he typically hangs out in her studio. The photo shoot was so much fun. I am not generally a fan of having my picture taken, but Jen made it very easy. She was also so honest--a couple of times she would stop and say "wait, you are not going to like your bangs right now," and boy was she right. The photo shoot flew by, it was such a fun afternoon for all of us. But the real treat was seeing the images that she captured. Did I mention that Arrow is a Black Lab? Black dogs are extremely hard to photograph. Not only did she capture his (in my humble opinion) perfect face on a white background, but she managed to shoot a perfect picture of him and Beans on a black background. Amazing talent! Aaron and I had a very difficult time picking out the best pictures from the selection of great images. We ultimately settled on 3 that captured our family perfectly. Jen framed the images and they are now hanging as true art in our living room. Nobody could ever be disappointed with the quality and uniqueness of the images Jennifer captures. But what really sets her apart for me is how fun she is to work with.  Jen knows that every family is different, every mother is unique, and every "child" is special.  I hope that everyone reading this has the opportunity to get know Jen and welcome her into your family. read more

When you're pregnant and looking for maternity photos, there are so many options it can be overwhelming, but Jennifer Loomis stood out. Instead of the ubiquitous pictures of women staring lovingly and literally glowingly at their growing stomachs in a field of wildflowers, Jennifer captured what pregnancy really is: a huge range of emotions, a huge range of physical sensations, and - love. When I look back on my maternity pictures, I don't see a lot of glorification of pregnancy. I see how much love I had for the baby, and I see how hard it was, and I see how incredible and amazing it was, and I see how scared we were - I see it all. Moreover, despite a difficult pregnancy, Jennifer made me feel beautiful. Since then, we've returned to Jennifer for newborn photos as a family, and my daughter and I go for a photo shoot every year around her birthday to document her growing up. Taking that time for my daughter shows her how much I love her, how important she is, how her childhood is worth preserving and documenting. And every time, Jennifer's pictures get better. She captures who my daughter is (and who my dogs are - they come too!), and she captures our relationship, with all its many emotions. I really can't imagine a better photographer, or a better use of time and money. There's nothing more important to me than my child, and Jennifer's photos document that perfectly. read more

I contacted Jennifer for maternity photos this past July. I was expecting a baby girl and I wanted to capture my pregnancy, not just my growing belly, but the many complex emotions connected to the person inside me. Jennifer completely exceeded my expectations. When my boyfriend and I arrived at Jennifer's studio, I was extremely nervous. I had never had any professional pictures done, and had never been photographed nearly nude. Jennifer set my mind at ease right away. She is completely charming and very genuine. First we went over some of her work and got a feel for what I did and didn't like for pictures, next she asked me what I did and didn't like about my body. Very nice for a woman going through such extreme physical changes. Throughout our entire session I felt completely comfortable and we had a lot of fun. The final result? Jennifer captured my pregnancy in its entirety. She caught the intimacy of being pregnant and starting a family. She caught my boyfriend and I laughing and playing, capturing our love for each other. She showed how my pregnant body was still sexy and beautiful. When I look at the photographs she took, I don't see pictures of myself while pregnant, I see my spirit and emotions while pregnant. We've had the pleasure of having Jennifer documenting our family's growth through art photography since 2010. We've had 5 sessions with Jennifer, celebrating our first pregnancy, the birth of each of our daughters, and periodically as they've grown (they're now 5 and 7). Our studio sessions have been as chaotic as you'd expect with a family of four - and the absolute messiness of newborn studio sessions, stressful at the time, are now just hilarious memories - the photos, somehow, captured the baby joy, serenity and even mom and dad's wonder at "what the ?!&$# is happening!" as we transition from a couple to a family. Working with Jennifer, I've been impressed at how her photographic voice and her business services have grown over the years. Our very first pregnancy pictures were very good - and our latest studio shoot produced an even more authentic capturing of this moment in our family's life. If you're hesitating to invest in art photography for your family, I highly recommend doing it. We've had other family pictures taken a couple of times (generally due to poor planning or budget constraints) and they've been good for what they are - but when you're looking for a wall display and nice photographs to give as gifts, Jennifer's art photography really can't be beat. read more

Jennifer is awesome! I bought the 3 session package a while back and did my maternity shoot first. Jennifer did an amazing job! Normally, I am pretty modest and maybe a little self conscious, but Jennifer has some amazing tricks up her sleeve and really made me look AND feel beautiful! I can't even believe they're me! I got some larger prints framed and are now hanging in my daughters nursery, and am always getting compliments. We came back and did a family shoot with my husband, our 2 year old daughter, and newborn baby girl which was such a great experience. Our 2 year old was very camera shy, but Jennifer really made her feel comfortable and was able to get some great pictures. We sent out prints to our families for Christmas and kept some for ourselves. Our last shoot was our favorite. Our girls were 15 months and 3 and were such a riot in front of the camera! We brought the girls favorite tutus and they danced to some music creating some really fun shots. Jennifer really captured our family's energy in the prints and that's what we love about her. Our oldest daughter has a pile of drawings she has made for "Jennifer Loomis" she talks about her all the time! I guess she really made an impact :) We will definitely be back! Words cannot do justice to the type of service I received from Jen @Jennifer Loomis Photography. She made me and my family come alive in the pictures she took for us. We did a maternity shoot and a newborn shoot with her so far and I can tell you I have found the perfect person to capture my significant moments for life. I did a maternity photo shoot with Jennifer and I couldn't be happier with the final photos. I was referred by a friend who had a great experience and gorgeous photos from her. I was 36 weeks pregnant when I first contacted her and she responded to my email right away and invited me to her studio for tea to talk about what I was looking for. I was a bit nervous and shy about the thought of being partially naked, but Jennifer immediately put me at ease. Less than two weeks later, I was back in the studio for the shoot. She's incredibly professional and really wants to capture not just a great photo, but one that really speaks to who you are as an individual and celebrates your pregnancy. The best part was reviewing the proofs with my husband (it was a surprise for him) and selecting our final prints. He LOVED them! She even hand delivered the final framed prints to my house after the baby came! We started having our photography done with Jennifer in 2009. My daughter was 3 months old. A friend did my maternity photos and as we edited them together he told me about Jennifer and how impressed he was with her work. I immediately looked Jen up online and fell in love with her work!! I knew that I absolutely NEEDED her to photograph my little family! When we showed up to her Seattle on Capitol Hill she was so warm and welcoming. I immediately felt like I'd known her for years, like old friends catching up, like we hadn't missed anything. Jen was absolutely amazing with my baby!! She truly deeply cared; the entire process was perfect. I especially loved being able to sit down with her and individually hand pick my images. She has a fabulous eye for putting multiple pictures together too. Everything with Jen is so customized and personal from the first phone chat to the time you pick up your precious photos. Jennifer Loomis is amazing! Over the last 10 years, our family has had the opportunity to be photographed by her. My first experience was in 2007 before my son was born. There were so many beautiful images that we had a difficult time choosing which to print and display. If you've seen Jennifer's work, then you know it can involve nudity. She is such a professional with a great spirit - as the subject she's photographing, you don't even notice that you are stark naked! It's incredible. She also photographed our family when we were expecting our daughter. The photos of our son during that shoot were fantastic. He does not like to sit still nor does he like being photographed. I can't believe she was able to capture him in motion. She has a wonderful gift - we have been fortunate to be beneficiaries of it. Her work hangs throughout our home. I've had the honor of watching Jennifer work a number of times in a number of different settings over the years. I knew she wasn't just pointing a camera and snapping at random. She's trained as a photojournalist, and she captures thousand-word stories as well as beautiful artistry in the bodies she photographs. I knew this, and therefore I thought I was prepared for what it would be like to have her photograph my own family, but I was still blown away. She took three kids, including an extremely headstrong and stranger-distrusting toddler, and had them displaying the very best of their affections for each other in a matter of minutes. She captured their spirits so very well. It was really hard to pick which prints to frame, but these are pictures I'll be thrilled to have on my wall for decades. read more

I reached out to Jennifer a couple of months before my first baby was born. I was hesitant about price at first but I couldn't find anyone that did her type of artistry. I took some time to really shop around and I could not get her photographs out of mind. I scheduled family photos when my baby turned 5 months and when my sister was in town so she could be in a couple of shots. Even more special, my old baby angel dog was able to be photographed with us. She ended up passing 29 days later. Jennifer is clearly talented but an amazing human which I value so much. I came across Jennifer's website while looking for a maternity photographer and I instantly fell in love with her photos. I contacted her in hopes of booking a last minute session and she was kind enough to fit me in. And after meeting Jennifer, I can now say that I love her just as much as I love her work. I scheduled a family photo shoot with Jennifer around Mother's Day. My husband and I ended up separating around the time, but Jennifer encouraged me to keep the appointment and just shoot my son and I. She was so supportive and assured me we would capture this moment in our lives, just right where we are. I'm so glad I did - the space was so inviting - toys and entertainment for my 8 month old baby, we ended up shooting it all in under an hour. I will cherish these photos for the rest of my life as they remind us of our sweet relationship, and our courage during this life transition. Working with Jennifer is comfortable, easy, and fun, and the results are stunning. I have gone to her for two maternity and two family shoots and am in love with her photographs hanging in our home. Jennifer has photographed me twice. First she did shots of me and my husband. How she made two "golden agers" look so good is beyond me! We've been married a long time, and neither of us likes to pose; the photos are casual and informal, taken as we talked and joked together, and capture the fun we've had all these years perfectly. Our kids love them and said, "Thank heavens you're not standing in front of an overblown picture of some rustic gate or something. This picture is of YOU!" The second session was for an updated head shot for theater publicity and needed to be a bit more formal, but she put me at ease and came up with just what I required. Thank you!! read more

I highly recommend Jennifer! She is so talented- her work is beautiful and timeless. She has photographed my daughter twice and both times I have been blown away by the images.
