I originally found Jen many years ago when both my kids were pretty little. Having two small boys who had a lot of energy and were not able to, nor would want to pose and didn't even really understand the concept of taking pictures, she was truly the BEST! It was such a relaxed environment where the kids could be kids and be themselves, all the while she was shooting these beautiful natural pictures of them, as well as the four of us. Jen has an eye and talent for sure. If you look at her photos compared to others they are very creative and unique. She is an artist and knows how to capture just the right lighting in all the right places. The pictures always come out individualized and natural and to me pieces of artwork. She is able to capture all of those special moments. In fact when I looked back on the photos she had taken many years later, no other photographer could quite compare. "Family photo" has been a bucket list item for me for years - but one that kept getting pushed off as the family and life in general kept me too busy to pursue it! I also was unsure how to locate a photographer who would do a great job given that I'm non-photogenic and very photo-averse and my kids are "active" to say the least! Not knowing any photographers near where I live, I found Jen by some miracle through the magic of the Internet. Her website sold me over half a dozen other photographers because of her editorial-looking, beautiful, candid shots. I wanted some good professional head shots to submit to a magazine that was publishing some of my writing and needed photos within a few days. Not only did Jen respond right away to my request, she happened to be available exactly when I needed her! She was easily accessible by phone, email and text. I wanted an outdoor setting, and Jen suggested the perfect place (a local trail) and has a permit to shoot there. This is a very important point because if a photographer doesn't have a permit, you could be asked to leave in the midst of shooting your important photos! Jen gave me great tips about what to wear, what not to wear and how to do my makeup. Jen was on time to the pre-determined location, had the right equipment and most importantly, she had a relaxed and easy-going demeanor that made me utterly relaxed and able to have a good time in what otherwise could be an awkward situation where you're having a complete stranger try to capture your essence in a photo. Jen took time to explain what poses would probably look best, and captured many different poses and angles. The photos ended up looking great and she delivered them to me on time (even a little ahead of time) for me to submit them to the magazine, and within my budget! I cannot recommend her highly enough.
