There are not enough words to describe John Boone's work, just take a look at his portfolio and you know he is a true artist. Having John as our photographer was one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding. The way he captured our day was truly remarkable, I can hardly look back at our photos without tearing up because he captured so many wonderful candid moments that so many of my friends' wedding photographers would not even have considered important. He had very creative and unique ideas on different shots that turned out amazing. He was able to depict our personalities and we got so much more than your standard dick-and-jane wedding photos. He highlighted the beauty of our venue and used the natural lighting to set the mood and tone. I could go on and on. John was truly professional and just an all around fun guy, we felt instantly at ease with him and being relaxed and at ease made us so much more photogenic! He was extremely accommodating and even came up with some good ideas to help with our timeline. It can be extremely difficult to coordinate so many people on such an emotional day and John completely took the reigns so that my husband and I could enjoy the day without worry. John was organized and we had our photos in a very timely manner and we were BLOWN away! They are absolutely stunning and show the day in a very beautiful and true light. I cannot comment highly enough on John Boone's photography. My wife and I hired him as our wedding photographer, after visiting and evaluating half a dozen other photographers in the area. John Boone immediately stood out not just by the quality of his portfolio, but by his attention to the slightest details. In his previous shoots, he was able to capture the most intimate, minute moments of spontaneity. We were immediately convinced to hire him, and it was one of the best investments we made for our wedding. John Boone and his assistant both arrived to the wedding early, taking plenty of time to photograph the bride and groom as we were preparing, as well as take group photos with bridesmaids, groomsmen, family, and the newlyweds seeing each other for the first time. He then meticulously covered the ceremony from every angle (we would be reviewing photos afterwards and always be surprised how he managed to get a particular angle or close-up when we had no idea he was there!) During the reception and dinner afterwards, he snuck us away several times for couples' photos in different picturesque spots on the premise. We've had at least a dozen friends and relatives who also took fairly decent photos, but John Boone's portraits stand two heads above everybody else's. Even little side things like a flower or an invitation on the table turned out as a piece of artwork when he took a picture of it! My husband and I selected John as our photographer for our June 2008 wedding - and we were not disappointed. John was friendly and professional, he worked with us on budget and we found it easy to trust him and feel relaxed as he took charge of the visual memories for our special day. One of the things we looked for in a photographer was the ability to make the photo come to life. We knew we were on the right path when looking at John's portfolio. When looking at the photos, especially the candid shots, it felt as if we were looking at friends, people we knew, even though they were perfect strangers. John captures this essence in his photos, and we feel he captured them on our special day too. Other details that come to mind - we were married on an incredibly hot afternoon in June. John dressed professionally - he could have fit in as a guest - and never once complained about the heat. Similarly, I've heard others complain that a photographer rushed them. If anything, the opposite was true about John. He seemed to want to make sure that we as the bride and groom were happy and relaxed. I highly recommend John as a wedding/engagement photographer. My husband and I used John Boone Photography quite recently. He shot our wedding less than a month ago on June 8, 2012. We had met John a year before hand and fell in love with his work and his warm welcoming hand into his home for an interview. We were looking for someone that could really get our family and friends attention to make them laugh and smile for that special moment. John Boone was a fantastic wedding photographer. We did a same-sex wedding (two men) and he was wonderful to work with. We did an engagement session where he captured some fantastic shots of the the pair of us at unique locations. Then at our actual wedding, he took amazing photos of the ceremony, reception, wedding party, and families. His photos are a great combination of candid shots, posed shots, "cheesy" shots - let's be honest, everyone wants some cheesy shots at their wedding - and photos of the setting. He makes you feel quite comfortable with the photography process so that you look relaxed and happy in your photos. You definitely get a lot of value for your money with him, too. There is nothing I regret about choosing him as my wedding photographer, and I would recommend him highly to anyone. John is the man. My wife and I used him as a photographer for our wedding just over a year ago, and he was incredible! We knew John was the right fit for us the first time we met him. When we initially visited John for a consultation and interview, he on his own offered us a snack kit filled with Capri suns, pita and hummus, and string cheese to take with us on our drive back up to the Bay Area (Where we live full time). Where can I even start? John was amazing from beginning to end. My husband and I had our first photo shoot with John for our engagement photos and it was such a blast.
