I wish this would have been double checked prior to being used on me because even if it's probably fine only happening once and (hopefully) it wasn't in a high dosage.. but was unable to confirm this - it still caused me immense anxiety that I really wish was avoided. I washed it off and emailed my doctor. But I still feel awful and wish more precaution was taken. This was my first facial since becoming pregnant (almost 27 weeks now) and I was really looking forward to it and thought I'd be safe here. Unfortunately I didn't feel safe and I wish I never came now. They don't have pregnancy pillows to accommodate pregnant individuals either. I'd go elsewhere if you're expecting but otherwise they usually do a great job... pretty disappointed this happened to me though /:

Calm and collected, Carol talked me through my treatment so I would be comfortable, relaxed and reassured while she gently prepared my lashes to be treated. The whole process for a lift and tint takes less than an hour, and ones eyes are closed (obviously) the entire time. Sometimes my eyes get twitchy especially if I am chatting with the technician, so I really need to be relaxed! With a delicate touch, I ofter doze off! But I will sadly not be back. Why one star? I got a Shellac French Manicure before a trip, I did this so it would last. It seems that maybe they used really old polish or something, because before I got home my thumb was messed up. Then within 24 hours most of my nails looked terrible. (See photos, that is 48 hours after getting them done) Funny thing? I work at a computer so the stress on my nails is nil. I let them know I was unhappy via email. Didn't hear back. Then I went in for an appointment with Marisol who is awesome, and she talked to the owner. They said they'd give me a "repair" which I thought was kinda funny since only 2 nails are acceptable in my opinion. But I accepted it. Then I got this text "In order to fix your nails at no charge you'd have to come in a week from the day of service. Can you come in Thursday or Friday" I'm about to go on vacation on Saturday AM. My workload is back to back, and I own a small business on the side. Nope, I cannot come in and I'm honestly not excited to spend ANOTHER hour in the chair when I'm so short on time... Why are they setting these boundaries is beyond me. But this is not the kind of customer service for me. Now check out the nails in my photos and judge for yourself.

Instead of fixing the issue, all she did was put a fan on my face. No adjustments to the tape, no changes to the glue--just kept saying my eyes were "sensitive". I would blink and it literally felt like my waterline was being stabbed because the extensions were glued to my eyelid. By the end, my lashes were overloaded with glue. They had a noticeable white tint from how much adhesive was used. It honestly felt like I had chili rubbed into my eyes. What's worse, the extensions were glued to my eyelid--my actual skin--and there was glue residue on my waterline. You can clearly see it in the pictures. That is not normal application. When I brought it up, she dismissed it and said it was just tears reacting with the glue. It wasn't. It was clearly excess glue and poor technique. She told me to wait 3 days and call if I didn't like them. I told her I didn't need 3 days to know I didn't like them. I paid and left completely unsatisfied and uncomfortable with eyes BURNING I could barely see. Should've read the reviews better, I'm glad they're actually more people experiencing this poor service and speaking about it.

I've put off writing this review for a number of weeks, but I have decided to go ahead and post my…read moreexperience so potential consumers have a well-rounded view of results they could receive at this business. I used to get my brows shaped, laminated, and tinted at another business in Seattle; however, my go to aesthetician up and left without notice so I was on the hunt for a new brow guru. I came across A+ Ilash Studio when googling various businesses in the area. The Redmond location certainly had great reviews and so I decided to check out their newer location in the Wedgewood neighborhood. Their booking process was a breeze and so I booked an appointment with Alice. During the services (brow shape/lamination/tint) everything seemed to be going as expected. When she was finished, she gave me the mirror and I did a quick look which appeared to show a superb job. Unfortunately, I must not have paid too close attention during the mirror inspection because when I got out to the car and did a more thorough look over, I noticed my left brow after the arch was completely misshapened and half of the hair that should've remained was waxed off. When looking midline at my face, my brows appeared to be not only off-center but one brow appeared higher than the other. The over waxing of my left brow was odd because my right brow looked really well without extra hair removal. As far as my brows being off-center and the unevenness, I can only attribute it to the tint being applied to each brow as they appeared individually and not paying attention to symmetry of the face during the application. As soon as I got home, I immediately took off some of the tint that caused the brows to appear off center and I had to fill in with my brow pencil the tail of my left brow that was almost completely missing. I am now 6 weeks post services and although a majority of the hair has grown back, it still is a little more sparse than previously. For the first 4 weeks after visiting A+ Ilash Studio, each day I had to fill in with pencil the missing hair so I'd have more symmetrical looking brows. This venue has some good reviews and I'm happy people have had great experiences, but for me it was a complete fiasco. Again this is just my experience. Hopefully if you choose this business you will have a better outcome than I did. Though unfortunately, I will not be coming back.

While I could tell she wasn't completely happy in her work environment, she always remained professional and never spoke negatively about the company. When Ashley reached out to let me know she would no longer be working at Waxing the City, I was surprised to learn that she had given her two weeks' notice but was not allowed to finish it. Even more disappointing, neither I nor, from my understanding, her other clients were notified by the business that she would no longer be there. When I called to cancel my upcoming appointments, Carson explained that the decision was made because of "client retention." That response was disappointing. It gave the impression that retaining clients for the business was valued more than allowing clients to say goodbye to the esthetician they had built trust with or supporting an employee through a professional transition. Ashley built relationships with her clients because of the quality of care she provided, not because of the name on the building. Losing someone like her is a loss for Waxing the City. I hope the company reconsiders how it handles employees who choose to move on. Supporting them through a respectful departure and communicating openly with clients would reflect much better on the business. As a client, this experience left me feeling that there's a disconnect between what the company prioritizes and what actually matters most: the people providing exceptional service and the community of clients who trust them.
