Hulstrom on 12/31 was utterly preposterous and, to me, life threatening! After experiencing fevers ranging from 101-104 for 6 days, I was advised to see an "acute care provider". As it turns out, she is a family medicine provider. After asking her whether a drug that I am currently taking potentially had anything to do with my current symptoms, she outright denied it, stating "only rashes are associated with this drug, but not what you're experiencing". In spite of having no relevant symptoms, she tested me for flu, COVID, rsv, and had an x-ray done on my foot. Her overseeing physician had ordered blood work as well, but the PA refused to review the abnormal results. The PA's orders, unsurprisingly, came back negative. I have yet to have anyone involved in my care look at my bloodwork, and in the meantime, symptoms have developed and worsened. I have ended up in the ER and being treated for DRESS--an immune reaction to the drug that I am taking that was leading to organ damage. A quick Google search leads directly to this diagnosis being strongly associated with the drug I am (or was) taking, with every single one of my symptoms listed, as well as lab results. But she denied that this was even possible! This PA should be fired, but I know that she won't be! I am furious and feel entirely helpless to do anything but rate her on Yelp. I hope others read this and steer clear of her, if they can help it. Overall, the PA's at this clinic are atrocious, but Hulstrom is on another level.

I scheduled a colonoscopy for late June and received a call in early July to discuss prep solutions. I also got numerous emails about the appointment date and the requirement for a ride home (not a Lyft or taxi). That was the extent of the communication. My appointment was on a Monday. On the preceding Friday afternoon, I discovered my prescription was not at the pharmacy, and they had no record of it. When I called the office at 3:25 PM, they were already closed for the day. I had to contact the on-call physician to get the necessary prep prescription. I never received any written instructions for the prep, nor did I get confirmation of the appointment time or location. This led to me going to the wrong place, as I had relied on the address from their website where I also found the prep instructions. I had to call my ride back to take me to the correct location. At the surgery center, they were running two hours behind schedule. Despite being asked to check in an hour before the appointment, my procedure started almost three hours after my check-in time. By then, I had not eaten for 30 hours and had been without water for 7 hours, leaving me weak and uncomfortable. Overall, while the surgical staff was commendable, the poor communication and scheduling mishaps were highly frustrating. I do not recommend this doctor's office and will not be returning.

Ten years ago, when I first went to Gastrointestinal of the Rockies, they were a much smaller…read morepractice with only a couple of locations. At that time, my experience was straightforward and professional. After my procedure, Dr. Kaye clearly told me everything looked great, there were no polyps, and I should return in 10 years. Fast forward to recently, I was contacted by the practice and told I was "due" for another colonoscopy. I questioned this multiple times, specifically asking the scheduler to double-check the notes, because I had been told 10 years. Instead of verifying, I was firmly told I was incorrect and that their records showed I was due at 7 years. Reluctantly, I scheduled the procedure. Days before the appointment, I was informed that the physician I had specifically requested had decided to take the afternoon off. My options were to reschedule or proceed with a different doctor. Since I had already begun the prep process, I had little choice but to move forward. Here is where things become truly unacceptable: As I'm lying on the table, IV in place, the new doctor walks in and asks if I'm having any problems. I say no. He then tells me, "You're not due for a colonoscopy for another three years." This confirmed exactly what I had been saying all along. At that point--after the prep, the disruption, and already being prepped with an IV--I went through with the procedure anyway. But the fact that I was put in that position due to their internal error is inexcusable. Afterward, I made multiple attempts to contact management to understand how this happened. Not a single call was returned by anyone in a leadership position. The only outreach I ever received was from a nurse--not someone accountable for the breakdown. Only after posting a brief, non-detailed negative review (in hopes someone would respond) did I hear anything further--and that was a letter "terminating" me as a patient. The letter was not even signed by a specific individual. This practice has clearly grown, but unfortunately, the professionalism, communication, and accountability have not grown with it. Between: * Incorrect medical scheduling information * Lack of internal communication * Last-minute physician changes * Inability to reach management * And ultimately dismissing a patient rather than addressing concerns ...I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. If you value clear communication, accuracy, and accountability in your medical care, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. PS. ******** Gastroenterology of the Rockies has a mixed to largely negative reputation, with many patient reviews highlighting significant administrative issues, long hold times, and poor communication, leading to low ratings on Yelp (often 2.5 stars or less). While some patients report positive experiences with specific doctors, others complain about disorganized care and difficult scheduling, particularly in the Boulder, Longmont, and Denver locations.******
