If this was due to the time of year or weather, the tour should have been cancelled and people should have been given a refund. There was no ivy draped heart in the gift shop area to use for a lovely photo backdrop as others have had. There was one upside down tree at the very end of the tour with flowers in it (and a large aluminum ladder under it) that we were told was for us for Mothers Day. Why didn't they put flowers in all the trees for us mothers? The guide who drove us to the top was interesting, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this tour.

Visitor center has an elevator to the 2nd floor that provides insight, views, and toilets. If in Juneau via a cruise ship you can access the park via both shore excursions and tour operators. No real complications on May 5, on that clear dry day, though 5 cruise ships were in port making the park entrance busy with both tourists and transports. It was a nice way to see a glacier, but the initial park area was crowded, so do not expect to escape from the bustle of tourists unless you explore deeper into the park.

EXPERIENCE: You must do the Nugget Falls trail. It's flat, easy, and takes you to the waterfall in less than a mile. The waterfall is stunning. You will be very close to the glacier from there! The trail itself is a fairy tale. Greenery, ferns, moss, rocks, and small waterfalls surround you. You will want to stop and take pictures of everything! OVERALL: This is almost an emotional experience. I want to go back one day and I'm so grateful I was able to experience it.

We stayed here for our five year anniversary and it was spectacular! The owners were extremely attentive of every little detail, places to eat, local hiking trails, cruise ship schedules (believe me, those come in handy!), local grocery stores and even fun, local events. Breakfast were great, and there were even little snacks for midnight munchies. There are two hot tubs outside, under towering trees that overlook a pond (notice it says Pearson's Pond) and beautiful gardens to relax in. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and inviting without a "old" feel that some B&B's have. Cushy robes and slippers to hang out in, and a feather bed. They even had swimsuits to borrow if you forgot yours! You can tell the owners really care about your stay and are willing to go above and beyond. Bottom Line: you are paying for a beautiful room, attentiveness by the owners, and personalized care for every aspect that might arise on your trip.
