We stayed here for our five year anniversary and it was spectacular! Yes, it is in a residential area, but it was quiet, quaint, and honestly, its not like when you're in Alaska that you're going to be hanging out in your room all day! The owners were extremely attentive of every little detail, places to eat, local hiking trails, cruise ship schedules (believe me, those come in handy!), local grocery stores and even fun, local events. Breakfast were great, and there were even little snacks for midnight munchies. There are two hot tubs outside, under towering trees that overlook a pond (notice it says Pearson's Pond) and beautiful gardens to relax in. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and inviting without a "old" feel that some B&B's have. Cushy robes and slippers to hang out in, and a feather bed. They even had swimsuits to borrow if you forgot yours! You can tell the owners really care about your stay and are willing to go above and beyond. Bottom Line: you are paying for a beautiful room, attentiveness by the owners, and personalized care for every aspect that might arise on your trip. If you are looking to enjoy a beautiful trip to Alaska without having to worry abut silly details, this is the place! read more

Pearsons Pond is a nice little b&b located about 10 miles outside of downtown Juneau. Pros: nice property - it is, in fact, located on a pond with nice hot tubs overlooking it. The owners are great! Very attentive and extremely helpful in planning day trips. The rooms are spacious. There are plenty of snacks and they have wine out all the time and its actually decent not the free swill you find in most places (note I am a bit if a wine snob) Cons: I agree the bathrooms are a but cramped. I sprung for a room with a fireplace and was a bit disappointed as it is kind of a cheap fireplace heater. Breakfast is good but it kind if starts late 8:30 and we missed it 3 out of 5 days. They do have continental options but they are much more limited. read more

I have stayed at Pearson's Pond numerous times. I only stay there during the off season as the prices are out of my price range during the peak season. It is a little out of the way, but this is one of the appeals for me. The staff have always been very accommodating. The rooms are small, but are always very clean and very comfortable. Wow I was expecting so much more. First of all, the Rachel Ray that owns it is NOT that Rachel Ray. She is nice, but she lives down the street. Second, the fireplaces in the rooms are the cheater "stand up" type you could buy at Costco. The bathroom was teeny tiny - ok they did have a nice robe hanging there for my use and slippers, but other then that and a jacuzzi outside that had an icey walk way to get to it...thats really where any luxury ends. I guess the lady that normally runs it was out of town, as a result I was staying there basically by myself and it kind of creeped me out. This is out away from town and it is very dark and has icy roads - trying to get there is a bit of a challenge. They do have a kitchen for you to use (for breafast or snacks) but again, not knowing who else was there and where they might step out of left me uneasy. Housekeeping never changed my sheets in four days, infact they didn't even come on the third day to bring me new towels or make my bed. During my stay I did have my bed made once. So that's it, it's not luxury, it's kind of like staying at somebodies house and paying a lot to stay there. Rachel and her husband were nice, but I wouldn't do it again. Ask for the corporate rate ($149.00) and you will save money if you decide to stay here. read more

Person's Pond, loved it!!!! My Wife and I just spent our Honeymoon in Juneau (July 2014), and we stayed at Person's Pond, it was awesome, the whole processes, from setting up all the arrangements and excursions, or showing up and having everything ready to go. The breakfast was very good, homemade breakfast everyday, beds were very comfortable, location was awesome tucked away close to a glacier. They have several bike you can ride whenever you want, you can ride less then 3 miles and be at the glacier visiting center - loved it. Other awesome things, Grills (which we used the day we went fishing and caught halibut and salmon, brought back fillets and cooked them ourselves - this was great), hot tubs overlooking the pond and the ducks. Maryann made our stay very special and memorable, she is a very sweet lady and just wants everyone to enjoy themselves. My wife and I wanted to renew our wedding vows for our 25th anniversary on a trip to Alaska. We checked different places and wedding coordinators. We decided on Maryann Ray at Pearson's Pond. She was always available for questions and coordinated so many things to make our day special. We talked to Maryann and she customized our wedding package with specific things we wanted to include. She always went out of her way to try to make us happy. She even downloaded a specific song on her phone to play for us when I asked the day before our event. Everything was set up nicely and when meeting her for the first time, she was just as pleasant as she was on the phone. She reminds me of someone you can talk to as if you knew her for years. Maryann knew everyone involved in getting our wedding package together, so she was a great help with contacting various people. As we were not familiar with Alaska, she guided us as to where we wanted to go for what we told her we wanted. She was very helpful from start to finish. We decided to have our ceremony at Skater's Pond and then go places to get various pictures taken. Although we did not step foot on Pearson's Pond, I can safely assume that if Maryann was running the place, it must be nice. My wife and I were very happy with the results of our vow renewal as well as the cost of our event. I would highly recommend other people to use her for their needs. read more
