If you're an injured athlete- run, don't walk- to Dr. Jimerson's office. Of course, you may be coming here because you cannot run- but get here however you can. Dr. Jimerson is not your ordinary rack-em-and-crack-em chiropractor. Rather than traditional adjustments, he specializes in Active Release Therapy (ART), which is useful for treating athletes and sports related injuries. He's one of the few ART practitioners in this state, and we're lucky to have him here in Charleston. He also works in an office in Summerville two days a week. I came to Dr. Jimerson with a chronic running injury in my hamstring. I saw a doctor and went to physical therapy for four weeks without improvement. Dr. Jimerson assessed my injury/strengths, treated me with ART, and gave me exercises/stretches to do at home. Dr. Jimerson and his staff also respect your time. This is not the kind of office where you spend an hour for someone to watch you do exercises. My appointments have been around 20 minutes, without a long wait. The office does accept and file insurance, if your benefits include chiropractic. I feel like I get a bigger bang for my buck than at a traditional PT. I began seeing small improvements after the first visit and doing exercises, and so far, I am still improving. You may hobble into Dr. Jimerson's office, but hopefully after a few treatments, you'll be running or participating in your sport of choice again pain-free. read more

Dr. Jimerson is the best around! I have a pesky Achilles issue that I've been dealing with, and it is so aggravating during my peak training times when I am training for a goal race. Even after taking extended time off from running, it felt like the issues would never go away. I started seeing Dr. Jimerson weekly, and I no longer have the issues that I once had. He specializes in Active Release Therapy (ART) and has worked with me on hip strength, which is where this problems stem from - I have exercises that I do at home too, which he showed me. Dr. Jimerson is a great doctor and is trusted by many athletes in the area. I know so many people who see him and have found relief when it felt like there wasn't an answer - including me! I could go everyday if I didn't think that'd be a bit excessive! I had a string of chronic running injuries that lasted years and tried all sorts of different things, but never felt any improvements until I came here. I feel so much better after I see Dr. Jimerson and on days I don't come wish I did. They need some sort of frequent flyer program because I go weekly. I should have given this practice a review years ago, but I hope you all find this helpful. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Jimerson. I was in an accident in 1994, T-boned. The medical doctors did as much as they could for me as far as therapy and steroid injections and I saw another chiropractor for seven years just for pain management. Gave up on the whole process until I was referred to Dr. Jimerson by my integrative physician in 2014. After only three visits with him using ART (?), I was pain-free. After 20 years, I finally was pain-free! I go back to Dr. Jimerson occasionally when I'm having difficulty with fatigue due to repetitive work and generally poor posture.
