Which when I had set the appointment up was told that they most generally send extractions out to a surgeon. After the last cancellation I was told that she was going to charge me $50.00 for not giving a 24 hr notice. That was ok, I scheduled my next appointment only because someone else had answered and I was informed that I could go to a surgeon on Hill Rd. (I Use YourRide-which means Genesee Co. only) the previous person had told me that they sent patients to 59 in Hartland, not covered by YourRide. I was willing to pay the money, but when you live on Disability bills are hard to pay. In good faith I called today to tell them that I do not have the $50.00 fee due to a late cancellation. My appointment was for this Wednesday, August 6. Now mind you my emergency is a back molar that has split in half. This is the 5th tooth that has done this since Primary Bone Cancer. It doesn't hurt at this point, but it will, it is difficult to chew on just the one side. Why is it when I was coming in find out if they could take it out, the others just basically fell out. There's no surgery to it. There is no money in it, when a general dentistry doesn't do general, anymore but sends everyone to a surgeon. But instead concentrates on Cosmetic Services instead..... I was going to pay, just because I am poor doesn't mean I'm going to rip you off. I wish I could say the employees name but I won't stoop to her non-compassionate attitude towards someone with a tooth dangling in their mouth. I as a former healthcare professional wonders what happened to compassionate patient care. It used to be a higher calling, like Pastors, Priests and Clergy. Doctors, Nurses, Medical Staff were expected to be ...More. I know we are all human but when did we lose our pride in what we do for a living? I learned early, what staff are like at this place. I've seen a lot of Doctors lose patients not because they're a bad doctor but because of the DOCTORS STAFF should not be working in the Healthcare Field at all.

My wife had previously received a bite guard under Dr. Thomas' care, with an understanding that replacements could be made for under $100 using the existing mold. However, under the new management, we were informed that this arrangement was no longer honored. Instead, we were told a new mold would be required, and a replacement bite guard would cost over $600. When we followed up with the staff, their response was disappointing. Rather than acknowledging the prior agreement, they insisted that we should opt for the more expensive option due to potential changes in her teeth. The interaction felt more like a sales pitch than genuine patient care. Beyond pricing changes, the overall atmosphere of the office has also shifted. Visiting Dr. Thomas was always a pleasant experience--his staff maintained a warm, welcoming environment. Unfortunately, that positivity seems to have faded, and the personal, supportive interactions that once defined White Lake Dental are now missing. Given the significant increase in costs and the more sales-driven approach, I strongly recommend exploring other dental practices before committing to White Lake Dental. Their pricing appears high compared to similar offices in the area, and transparency regarding changes in ownership and policy has been lacking. We had Tracy as a hygienist and I can't recommend her highly enough. She took a lot of time to put her at ease and was super patient and gentle with her.
