According to the past reviews, La Cabaña has been around for at least 15 years. This is the first time we have been, & come to find out they completely rebuilt their restaurant. It is quite stunning. Once we passed it, we came back for dinner. They serve Colombian food - rotisserie chicken, steak, Colombian soups and dishes, breakfast, lunch, & dinner. They also have a bar. We had empanadas, agua de panela con queso (traditional Colombian warm drink with cheese), and Ajiaco which is a Colombian chicken stew. Our food was excellent, & our service was too. We can't believe this is here. Def a nice change for us, & we will definitely be back. There's a lot of seating here too for big groups.

Wow! My first time at La Cabana and we really enjoyed it! I ordered the lemonade with coconut and it was so refreshing. I had the 1/4 chicken which was served with rice, salad and a clear chicken soup. So flavorful. My partner had a combo platter of different meats which was also good. He also ordered the churros with ice cream. Wow! Our server was friendly and the decor is delightful.

Was in Tampa for the day this weekend and friend of mine found this great Colombian spot. Let me start by saying that the customer service was amazing! Our server Sandra made some great recommendations, her personality and hospitality was amazing from beginning to end! I had the carne asada with 2 sunny side up eggs, rice, and a side of arepitas, and of course I had to the colombiana soda. The decor makes you feel like you are in restaurant in Colombia. The decor was so beautiful and their outdoor seating area was so airy, I loved and enjoyed every second here. The food was seasoned perfectly not too salty and not too bland, it was perfect. The pork ceviche with plantain chips we had was the beginning of a great dinner, not too salty and not too tart, you must try this dish if you are in Tampa and come try this place. Parking is very limited so I would suggest carpooling or getting an uber. I quite literally had someone try to go around me, and once they realized they couldn't because of how narrow the parking lot was they had to wait anyways. If you're in the west side of Tampa make sure go give this place a try.

Friday night date with my Colombian wife went really well here! The food is delicious and cooked with love and care - you can tell. Great friendly prompt service. And wonderful atmosphere with live music by really talented artist. What else to ask for? I'm grateful!!

Came here with family that was in town visiting. This place was recommended by a coworker. The speciality is Colombian cuisine. The atmosphere was loud but having made a reservation we were seated quickly. Our server was prompt and polite. We made our drink and food orders quickly. I got the shrimp ceviche as an appetizer which is pictured. I then ordered the Arroz Especial Con Mariscos Cabana. The ceviche was good with a lite sauce with a hint of what I would say was vinegar. Needless to say I wolfed it down. My cabana arrived and it was massive. The various ingredients work well together. I added a little salsa for a kick. Ala in all 4.6 stars.

Steak w/ onions and yucca fries. Also served with rice and beans.

I'm not very familiar with Colombian dishes, but I know I like what I had at La Cabaña. The wait wasn't long and the hostess was very welcoming and told us it would be a short wait. The biscec encebollado, the grilled steak dish and the grilled chicken were nothing short of excellent. The portions are plentiful, with all the dishes including a side of rice, beans and your choice of fries, yuca or a salad. The best part of the meal and what really brought everything together were the natural fruit juices (passionfruit)--fresh fruit, water, sugar and ice, vibrant--that were so refreshing and fresh.

We were told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait, but it was hardly a 20 minute wait. The ambiance of the place is so homey, and the staff is generally pleasant. First of all, do not underestimate the BREAD. It is probably, hands down, the best baguette bread I have had in the US. We had croquette and stuffed mushrooms as appetizers. They were good. For my main course, I had the mahi mahi varadero and it was really good. It came with crab and Spanish rice, and was breaded with crispy plantains. It was good, although I generally don't like Spanish rice. HOWEVER, if I had to recommend a dish, it would be the mahi-mahi cayo-Hueso. It was marinated with citrus flavors and it was divine. Now I don't know who in our party ordered the fries, but they were amazing and felt as good as home fries. Now to the dessert, we ordered almost one of each and it was some of the best dessert I have had in my life -not too sweet, made well, and with real ingredients. I would have ordered my own cafe con leche but it was too late for me in the day but man did I wish I could have had my own cup instead os stolen sips. A record would not be complete without aknowledging the staff. Our waiter was Alfredo and he was such a nice, sweet, and accommodating waiter. He was also patient with such a large party. Thank you, Alfredo!

Our server Enarxis was amazing and made our entire visit! He made us feel like family right away, shared the history of the room we were in, and gave us great tips and things to do while traveling in the area. His food and drink recommendations were 10/10: Red Sangria & Salad: The sangria was delicious and the tableside salad was so unique and flavorful. Cuban Bread: Oh my gosh... warm, perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside with butter. Divine! Pollo Manchego: Huge portion for lunch! The citrusy sauce with the crispy chicken and yellow rice was so different from anything I've had and super delicious. Mahi Mahi with Blue Crab: My husband devoured this. El Combo de Cuba: My dad cleaned his plate trying all the Cuban flavors. We loved every second from start to finish. I can't say enough good things about Enarxis--he truly made our experience. We will 100% be back next time we are in the area!

It's in a stand alone building, right next to a large apartment complex. The turn is very easy to miss on your first visit, even with GPS. But once you've been there, you'll never miss it again. Your tastebuds will lead you home. When I got there, early on a Thursday morning, the place was humming. There are no tables or booths-it's take out only... and people were whizzing in-then whizzing out with big boxes or bags. That was a very good sign. But soon, I didn't notice the other people (cue the music montage)... I was mesmerized-transfixed, even... by all the goodies. Everything from delicate coconut pastries to corn casserole to fruit tarts/tortes, to chicken empanadas, to fancy cakes to big, puffy/fluffy cheese loaves... all beautifully displayed and labeled. It was a feast for the senses. I couldn't stop taking photos! I also couldn't decide what to get, but finally blurted out something about the corn casserole and quickly added the coconut cocada and pan bolo (guava). I am happy to report that everything tasted as good as it looked. As the 80s ballad declared: "the search is over"... I have found my favorite bakery, I love that it has both sweet and savory items. I will be back again and again. But not just for the food. It's the service! The woman helping me was absolutely delightful. She was warm and friendly and helpful and full of good suggestions. She was sunshine. That's something you can't put in a display case or add to a recipe.. Ricopan, you're a star! I'll be back! P.s. private parking lot-fair prices-very clean and they also sell coffee-maybe other drinks, too.

Suggest valet for $6 or a couple of trips around the lot to find a spot. We sat outside, which was enclosed and heated and your are right on the water. Super cool and great views. We started off with the toasted bread and butter and the devil crab croquet. Not a fan - full of crab but the flavors didn't sit well and really needed some type of sauce to pair with it - we only had hot sauce. The original salad - is a must we shared it across four. It's made table side has cheese and olives in it and was really good. We got ours with a side of shrimp. Main courses - Cuban - it's a classic sandwhich which we shared. Comes with fried plantains which were ok. Again would have been better with some kind of sauce to dip it in. Steak Salteado - good flavor l, was expecting thin sliced steak and it was more like stew meat. Paired with rice and was good. Palomilla - would be better as the sandwhich version. Again this one needed a sauce for dipping. Shrimp "Al Ajillo" - this is a must and the oil garlic mix is perfect for dipping you toasted bread.
