I like the server and manager are mainly Latin American which is very up to service and delivery the food to customers. The fried chicken has good marinated coating. The marinated flavor into the meat which makes it savory. The rotisserie chicken is a bit sour but they are South American flavor. The sides are good. But I like their drink choices. So happy I tried Pollo Campero! Will definitely be returning for a full meal and with my boyfriend. To try it out I ordered 2 pieces of fried chicken, both priced at 3.50. The breast was huuuge and both pieces were very crisp and juicy. Seasoned perfectly. 10/10 Ordering was difficult since this was my first time, and I was drive-they. I didn't see a screen option for individual pieces of chicken or sides. The employee was helpful though. Their chicken recipes are different than the American fried chicken or Pollo tropical's and I like the taste of them. For fried chicken, the coating was crispy, but not too salty and the seasoning soak deep into the meat. So they don't tasted boring. The grill chicken version also got good flavor. For the side dish, I like yuca fries better than rice. I love their specialty drink. They were all so delicious. The peach mango, the red hibiscus and the Horchata, you cannot find them at any other fried chicken places. A group of hard-working ladies operated this place. They were on top of serving customers. I love Pollo Campero! And I'm so glad that they're back in Tampa. Campero used to be in Tampa, I recall driving into the Armenia corridor in 2011 to buy their awesome fried chicken when we first moved to Tampa. But sadly, that location closed years ago. Now they are back, and they are as good as ever. Maybe better because now they have a chicken sandwich and chicken nuggets to round out their menu. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and fries. Definitely expect to make a mess with that sandwich as it's saucy. I used a lot of napkins. The chicken was juicy and tender. I wish the pickles were a little more sour and that the bun was toasted, but man, that chicken was awesome. Our food was made to order, so we had to wait a while. They threw in some chocolate chip cookies and flan for the long wait. My son loved the chocolate chip cookies. I thought they were only okay, but good for a fast food restaurant. Pollo Campero is one of my favorite places for fried chicken. The Spicy Chicken sandwich is my goto with a Sauce put on it that makes it spicy (I always ask for extra) and a pickle. The sides I get are the regular fries but the yuca fries and plaintains are also good just depending on the freshness. They have typical fountain drinks but also Horchata that is free refills. Very decently priced usually around 8.00 for the sandwich or 12 for the meal. The Bone-In chicken which I've never ordered personally but my friends do is HUGEE so don't let the price scare you. I want to say I really loved the chicken at Pollo Campero but I think I'm going to reserve that decision until I make a third trip to eat there again. There was a big difference in the preparation of the meals the first time I went and last nights second time meal. My first experience was that the four piece chicken combo which is a split between their fried chicken and their grilled chicken although a bit pricey at $19.00 and the pieces being a bit small more than made up for it with the piping hot freshness of both the fried and the grilled chicken. The place was jumping, we placed our order and were given a number sign to place on our table. It took a few minutes for our orders to come and I remarked to my girl they must be prepping a fresh order of chicken. An employee brought us the chicken and sides and the chicken in each method of preparation was hot, fresh tasting and juicy. The taste of the chicken was delightful and I remarked that between the yummy sides (I chose the coleslaw and the sweet plantains) and the hot, fresh tasting chicken well made up for the price of the meal. Last night I was disappointed. We placed our order and sat at a table and within minutes I meal was served to us. Big difference! The fried and grilled chicken were only warm and tasted like it had been made earlier. The chicken was dry and the citrusy flavor of the grilled chicken didn't shine through. A big disappointment!! Had lunch there today and was delighted with the Campero salad w/fried chicken on top. The greens and toppings were fresh the chicken was crunchy, and the entire salad tasted great with the ranch dressing. The next time I want to try the balsamic dressing. My only issue was I do not speak Spanish and the person taking orders spoke very little English. It did make the ordering process a little tricky.
