So happy I tried Pollo Campero! Will definitely be returning for a full meal and with my boyfriend. To try it out I ordered 2 pieces of fried chicken, both priced at 3.50. The breast was huuuge and both pieces were very crisp and juicy. Seasoned perfectly. 10/10 Ordering was difficult since this was my first time, and I was drive-they. I didn't see a screen option for individual pieces of chicken or sides. The employee was helpful though. Also wasn't sure if the chicken was going to be served with any sauces on the side or packets but was surprised to see ketchup. Would potentially ask next time what sauces they have.

2 piece Fried Chicken meal with roll and fries as side ($8.50)

Pros: Crispy, well seasoned fried chicken that's fresh. The fact that they have an individual meal under $10 is pretty remarkable in this day and age. Open Sundays and till 10 pm (7/week) In addition to Pepsi sodas, they have Mango/Hibiscus/Horchata drinks that are the same price as the fountain drinks. Mango was solid, but my favorite was the Horchata. It has a very strong cinnamon flavor that's pleasing. Pretty cool! Cons: The dining area was slightly messy. While the chicken was good, it's not radically different in taste from standard American fried chicken like Popeye/KFC. That can either be good or bad depending on your point of view. I was expecting something a bit different since this chain originated in Guatemala apparently. They have beans, rice and Sweet plantains for sides but I still feel it leans more towards US tastes Overall: A pretty good place for fried chicken if not a radical departure from the usual

I need training! Pulling up to the menu board I see 12 piece meal. 29.99. Nope it's actually over 40.00. They asked me what sides. I ordered Beans and Cole slaw. The beans are delicious, but I'm still trying to find the beans. It's more like bean soup. Now for the chicken. I assumed I would get a normal mix of 3 breast 3 thigh 3 wings and 3 drumsticks. Wrong. I received 6 thighs and 6 drumsticks. I guess I need training, or possibly they need it.

Pollo Campero is one of my favorite places for fried chicken. The Spicy Chicken sandwich is my goto with a Sauce put on it that makes it spicy (I always ask for extra) and a pickle. The sides I get are the regular fries but the yuca fries and plaintains are also good just depending on the freshness. They have typical fountain drinks but also Horchata that is free refills. Very decently priced usually around 8.00 for the sandwich or 12 for the meal. The Bone-In chicken which I've never ordered personally but my friends do is HUGEE so don't let the price scare you. The dining room is clean , staff is attentive. By far my Go-to

Combo of fried chicken and grilled with sweet plantains and coleslaw

I want to say I really loved the chicken at Pollo Campero but I think I'm going to reserve that decision until I make a third trip to eat there again. There was a big difference in the preparation of the meals the first time I went and last nights second time meal. My first experience was that the four piece chicken combo which is a split between their fried chicken and their grilled chicken although a bit pricey at $19.00 and the pieces being a bit small more than made up for it with the piping hot freshness of both the fried and the grilled chicken. The place was jumping, we placed our order and were given a number sign to place on our table. It took a few minutes for our orders to come and I remarked to my girl they must be prepping a fresh order of chicken. An employee brought us the chicken and sides and the chicken in each method of preparation was hot, fresh tasting and juicy. The taste of the chicken was delightful and I remarked that between the yummy sides (I chose the coleslaw and the sweet plantains) and the hot, fresh tasting chicken well made up for the price of the meal. Last night I was disappointed. We placed our order and sat at a table and within minutes I meal was served to us. Big difference! The fried and grilled chicken were only warm and tasted like it had been made earlier. The chicken was dry and the citrusy flavor of the grilled chicken didn't shine through. A big disappointment!! Since I'm at a 50/50 in my decision I think I owe it to myself to return to decide my final conclusion.

Highly recommend! The fried chicken was the best item. The sides were ehh. The hibiscus drink was on point as well. Overall will be back for sure.

I'm pleased to be the first to review the newly unveiled Toma Orang Cafe Latin Restaurant by Sofia…read moreVergara which is a new quick service Latin restaurant at Busch Gardens by Jungala & Wild Oasis. Toma is a very needed addition to supplement the lack of healthy food options at Busch Gardens multiple themed areas. Several themed areas of Busch gardens just do not have any food options at all, let alone healthy food options. Jungala & Wild Oasis was one of the themed areas with no healthy food options and now is no longer void of any healthy food options! At Toma, guests have to get in line, request their bowl or meal, pay at the register, and then find a seat with their food. There is no table service at this quick service restaurant. The Barbacoa Bowl came with Beef barbacoa, cilantro lime rice, black beans, cotija cheese, pickled onions, sweet plantains, creamy cilantro salsa The Pollo En Salsa Verde Bowl came with Chicken in salsa verde, cilantro lime rice, black beans, cotija cheese, roasted corn, guacamole, salsa roja. The Plantas Bowl is a plant based bowl with no meat with Cilantro lime rice, black beans, guacamole, roasted corn, salsa roja, cotija cheese. Toma also serves Empanadas Served with salsa roja With Toty's Beef, French Onion, or Vegan Lentil Toma also serves Croquetas with salsa roja & Chicken croquetas Toma serves sides of Rice, Beans, Sweet Plantains, Pan de Bono Toma serves 2 Desserts including Guava & Cheese Pastelito which is a Traditional pastry of Colombia & Hazelnut Empanadas Toma also serves 4 kinds of milkshakes including Toty's Milkshake, Guava & cheesecake milkshake, Mano's Milkshake, Colada coffee milkshake. Toma loses points for missing any kids menu with kids sized smaller portions. Unfortunately we are forced to order an adult entree for the kids as there are no options for kids here. I hope management can add options for kids in the future as there are a lot of kids at these theme parks that don't need a huge adult size bowl. Toma also loses points for having a very limited menu, missing chips and salsa, queso, nachos, tacos, quesadillas, chimichangas, fajitas, burritos, & missing a wide variety of flavored margaritas. I have never been to any Spanish restaurant that is missing chips and salsa or house made hot sauce or different flavored margaritas. If you're in Busch Gardens and craving healthy Latin cuisine, definitely check out Toma as it is the only Latin cuisine in the whole park and one of the few places that doesn't just serve burgers or pizza aside from the smoke house, the dragon theater, and festival booths. I hope Busch Gardens can add more healthy food options in every themed land of the park including at Sesame Street and by the Elephants too. Currently, when we go to the Sesame Street kids area, we have to walk way too far for a good 10+ minutes to the dragon theater get decent healthy food in Busch Gardens. With Toma, we can now walk a little less, but if the kids are not in mood for Latin food, we have to walk much more.

The employee on staff was very helpful explaining the various topping options. I thought it was a good experience, although a bit expensive for what you receive (pretty much the case for all food at Busch Gardens). I also tried the guava & cheese pastelito (pastry). I would pass on this dessert. It didn't have enough filling spread through the inside of the triangle shaped pastry. Most bites were just dough. All seating is outside and half of that is under the wooden boardwalk where rain pours on you. Not ideal. Final improvement would be a sign indicating whether the restaurant is open since you can't see the window from the Wild Oasis entrance area. And there are no hours posted. When I inquired an employee there said it opened between 10:30 and 11, mainly once the register is setup. Still working on consistency...

The chicken was amazing as well as the rice. I ordered a mango smoothie to go with my meal. I wish it was a bit sweeter like mangoes generally are.
