Great to see an old favorite open again! I hadn't been in Jerry's since the 90's but I used to love to go there when I was young. I think the place looks better now than it did back then. I got there later so I only ordered some chicken wings to eat and they were very good. The bartender Tom did a great job and later on, the owner David came out to spend some time with us. Any of you old timers, he looks just like his father Pete. We had a great time and look forward to getting back there again soon. read more

Drinks. I had to get me something to drink before I went indoors. The staff here is very friendly and helpful. I just don't like that the door I come in is not the door that I can leave to exit. I know it is probally to keep theft low but, it is not good for your honest customers. There has to be a better way. read more

This place is pretty solid for dinner. Came here on a Friday, got some pasta in tomato sauce, and it was delicious. The shrimp bisque is also really good. I have to also give a shout out to the decor. Very old and outdated, but it adds to the charm of this place. Food and drinks are cheap. My Yuengling was under $2, or was just $2. Either way I will not argue with that. Give this place a try, you'll like it. read more

Super friendly bartender had great drink suggestions and my new favorite drink is now Italian Surfer. The bar has cool old time Baltimore pictures and is the same warm wood as back in the 80's. We felt very welcome. read more

Love this place, but I hope they will do some quality control and testing on how they're making their crab cakes. At first, we thought we were eating the best crab cakes ever, if not the very best -- they're large, baseball-sized, all lump-crabmeat, and perfectly grilled. Kind of amazing for $16 or $17, plus two sides. But when you get to the middle, there seems to be a filler or binder, and it's more than a little gummy and undercooked. read more

Cozy little dive bar off of York Road. Stopped by here with my bike group a couple weeks back for a rest stop, and the staff was friendly and prompt with their service. Decent selection of brews, and ample space at the bar. I went with an IPA, some friends had stouts, and others spoke highly of their cocktails. I wasn't too keen on carb-loading mid cycle, so I didn't order food, but noticed they had a comfortably-sized dining room beyond the bar, and several of their menu items looked quite tasty. I'll have to stop back by and grab some grub, give them a full once-over in the food department, but so far, so good! read more

A very fun place, great people, and great service. We ordered their fish and chips which were really tasty. Batter Dipped Haddock, something very tough to find in Maryland; haddock fish fries are few and far between. It was served with tartar sauce made from scratch (yeah, you can tell the difference) and malt vinegar for the waffle fries. Then they had trivia going on which was a lot of fun as well. We finished as third place winners and got a nice door prize for playing. We will be going again tonight for Karaoke and more fun. Very friendly people and the owner is such a great guy. Jerry's is definitely "tale of two cities", with restaurant side and bar sides almost two different worlds. I usually prefer the bar side, as I often travel to Charm City for business and am alone. This side gets lots of different slices of life, and is a great crossroads for Baltimore characters, from Roland Park and Towson yuppies to the guy who probably stripped the vacant house next door of copper to get $10 for his night out. One night I was there and a Steeler fan made a mistake of wandering in when Ravens vs Steelers was on Monday Night Football. Long story short, police and ambulance visited shortly after an exchange of differing opinions on this guy's lineage. On the restaurant side, things are more subdued and feels like the family restaurant/diner you grew up on. Food, which is common to both, is always great. Soups are a must - my favorite is bean soup - I think it's on Thursday nights and would plan a trip around it. I hope this place doesn't ever get beat by the chain restaurants that have no soul. read more

Why oh why have they killed smoking in Maryland? Jerry's is not the super dive it used to be when you double your pleasure when leaving with an auroa of cheap booze and tobacco smoke haze. One big star for hooking us up with blue law defiant carryout on Sundays. Pack your kevlar when mingling with the locals after dark; you know they have a shotgun under the front cash register. Another star for their entrepreneural success with the college crowd on certain nights. A third and final star for keeping Chesapeake classics like fried oysters and crab cakes on the menu to draw another local generation into the back dining room where you know they haven't changed their carpet, ever. read more

I always enjoy sitting up at the bar at Jerry's. I haven't been there a whole lot but every time I'm there I'm glad I stopped in. Restaurant to your right, packaged liquor shop to your left and a nice size bar right in the middle. Drinks are cheap and the food is good. Wings are some of the best around. It's the wings that got me out here after reading about them a few years ago. Burgers tend to be bangin' as well just so ya know. Bar tenders are nice and chatty and you can tell this has been a local spot since your grandparents been coming here. Don't change a thing...like that'll ever happen. read more

Just a quick update that the one highchair is broken (and DIRTY) and the booster seat I think is outdated and probably recalled (and again DIRTY). Both very disgusting and disappointing. I hope that the owner/owner's son gets them cleaned and fixed soon. And a quick google search reveals that a restaurant highchair costs around $30- no excuse to have a broken highchair (especially if it is your only one). read more

First of all there are two doors. I was humiliated when I went through the first door only to realize it was the first of many puzzles. When I finally figured out this labyrinth I found out I couldn't come in with a sideways hat. They made me turn my hat 90 degrees. Humiliating. After purchasing a very delicious beverage I sat outside to the beach area and quite enjoyed the tiki bar vibe. Our service man, Taylor, was wonderful and gave a great recommendation for a pins cool-at A( it was exotic) but then these firemen came by and startled me so much I spilled my drink all over my boots which cost me a good $149 at the store( it was a deal, but still) I would come back in a heartbeat. This is a tough place to review, you know what you're getting into by the name and the old school facade- also, the years of smoke built up in the carpet and walls. Jerrys is classic, very much like a Cheers type of joint. It's a Baltimore place, cops and locals. It's got a liquor store in the front and an alarm sounds anytime someone comes in the door- which can be heard from the dining area too. I've never had a server or bartender that wasn't really friendly and on top of things. The best part of Jerrys is the bar and the dinner specials. The food is very average, and for some reason the prices are high. I stick with a burger, and it's pretty good. It's nice to see a local place like this that's still doing alright. read more

Best bar in Baltimore ! You can't beat the drink prices. $1.80 for a pint of Guinness and $3.55 for a top shelf cocktail (with a very generous pour). Awesome food that you wouldn't necessarily expect from a dive bar. Try one of Leonards specials and you can't go wrong. Great place for watching football, especially on monday nights they have pit beef sandwiches for $4 bucks and fresh raw oysters. read more

I came back for Trivia and most of the sketchy outdoor situation has been resolved. TRIVIA was free and a blast to play. Mark (I think that's his name) was a great host, and I had fun even though I lost. THIS IS A GREAT DIVE BAR, just be careful outside. I really enjoy this location, it is smaller and more quaint then most bars in the area. The best part is it is never over run with obnoxious Towson college students. The packaged goods side is open every day and open until 2:00 am. I have never ordered food from here but am not opposed to it. This this a great little neighborhood dive bar, with a nice restaurant attached. If you just want to relax and have a drink or 10...this is the place! The restaurant food is GREAT. Not sure what the other reviewers complaints are about, everything I've eaten has always been fresh and cooked very well. It's not a Ruth's Chris...butt you know that as soon as you enter. THE CHEESEBURGERS AND FRIES ARE THE BEST IN TOWN!!!!!! The patties are fresh and handmade...and the roll makes it all perfect. Service is great, food is very good, and the prices are not bad. I always start thinking about Jerry's Belvedere Tavern this time of year. Not only was it the place my friends and I always met when we were all home from college on break, it was also just a few blocks from my mother's house in Towson, which made it perfect for trudging to on a snowy night. My parents and even grandparents used to go there often, and thought it was funny when we started frequenting the bar. One of my best friends worked in the kitchen, so we would often go for dinner and stay for drinks and the food never disappointed. It was the perfect pregame, but even better when we ended up hanging out all night, listening to the jukebox and dancing furiously. For the past few years, we've had a Christmas Eve tradition of going to Jerry's. Now that I'm married with a baby, I can't be running off to the bar the night before Christmas, but I know my friends will have a great time eating, drinking and chatting to the friendly staff at good old Jerry's. read more
