Jerry's for the win, again! They have now helped me with TWO seasonal needs. First, they are where I found the cheesecloth that I desperately needed for my Halloween costume. It was exactly right for my purposes. I am absolutely going to use it again the next time that I need to see out of a mask. Ten/ten recommend. Second, they are my go-to for winter insulation. I love my louvered porch windows in the summer--they are great for getting the air flowing. In winter? Somewhat less enamored. My porch gets cold, which means my living room can be a bit more invigorating than ideal. I always know that I can go to Jerry's to pick up window insulating kits that will help seal the cracks and keep me cozy. It was a quick stop to get some drain cleaner. The Bathtub decided that it wanted to hold onto the water, and the previous attempt to get rid of the problem didn't work. So, we knew that we needed something more powerful. We were greeted by a friendly guy when we entered the store and he directed us to the section where we'd peruse the drain cleaner options. We decided on the "professional strength crystals" and headed out. The young man who rung us up was also friendly and asked if we'd found everything that we needed. We did. Great helpful people and a much larger selection then you would expect for a smaller, neighborhood store. Worth a few extra pennies to shop local when the service is this good. As soon as you walk in the store, inevitably, some helpful associate will ask what you are looking for and without hesitation guide you right to the spot - I like that. I can be in an out with the item I needed fast and in the same amount of time it would take at the big box place just to find a parking space and walk the half mile to the store. read more

We took our snowblower into this location for servicing. When picking it up, I noticed as I got it out to the car that a screw was missing on the cover. So I hauled it back into store, and they put the screw in. I used it twice, and just noticed while shoveling for a blizzard that two bolts have fallen out from the paddle, which caused excessive wear on the newly-replaced paddles and scraper. This was not a cheap servicing. It was about $250. I called them, and the service manager told me that "everybody makes mistakes" and all he did was make excuses. No apology. Just excuses. And then he hung up on me. Then the store manager called me and chewed me out, and then he hung up. Do not take your snowblower to this location for service unless you want a horrible experience with customer service. I will never go back to this store for anything. They do not deserve any business. read more

I've been a decades long customer of Jerry's hardware. Never before have I experienced such rude clerks. Literally waved off without even a hello or the chance to ask a question. When I stopped at the register to ask my question, the clerks response was literally "it's my second day, I don't know". Wow. Who manages that store? I get better service at Home Depot. I love going to a local hardware store. They have recently moved to a larger space in a strip mall next to Jerry's Foods in Edina and having the extra service is worth the extra money that you would pay by going to Home Depot. We take our lawnmower to be serviced here, we go for small nuts and bolts when we need it, and we needed some mouse trap stuff here today. The service people helped us pick out what the best product to use was and they even greeted us when we walked in the door. They have a great selection and a ton of other cool stuff, like bird feeders, seed, grass stuff, snow blowers, lawn mowers, grills, basically anything you need. We walk by it every morning on the way to the bus and they always say hello as they are setting their wares out in the promenade. You are basically spending a little more money for a personal consultant, love it! read more

I've always had friendly service and patient staff every time I've gone in there since moving I to the neighborhood about 4 months ago. I brought our snowblower in for service when I had no idea what was wrong. They do what any place will. Offer you more services than you may have gone in for, but they were perfectly polite about explaining my options and the benefits of each. They under promised and over delivered on the repair time and while it wasn't cheap I would have spent a lot more on a new blower or on time and money trying to figure it out myself. Some of the staff seems high school age so you have to expect that they are learning the ropes of customer service. No matter what though they have all been polite and helpful. I've worked at a big box hardware store when I was a teen and several other retail spaces. No one is perfect. The important thing is that everyone does their best and builds on their experience. :-) read more

I was looking for moving boxes and found that Jerry's carries them, so after pulling up the website to check the price, I was excited they were actually not bad, HOWEVER, I drive there and locate the boxes to find that the large box online quotes $1.99 and the store price for the box was $3.49. The medium's and smalls were marked up over $1 as well. So thinking this could be a mistake I asked an associate. She didnt know the answer so she went and got a manager. He said "if I want to buy them online and have them shipped to the store for free I can have them at that cost." Really? I said, I need them tonight. He was already walking away talking to me in a tone as if "oh well, you're s.o.l." No more shopping at Jerry's anything for me. For someone that's been in customer service over 20 years, take my advice. The least you can do is show courtesy and kindness. I have been going to this neighborhood hardware store for years. They have always been incredibly helpful - whether its a plumbing issue or helping me with an art project. I always feel welcomed coming into Jerry's. The staff is super knowledgeable and they always help me find exactly what I'm looking for. The prices are a little higher than Home Depot or Menards, but I'm willing to pay for it considering the convenience of the location in Edina. I often go here to find items you can't find at a big box store or when i'm try to put together a "jig-saw puzzle" of parts to make something work. It seems these "puzzles" are always solved by one of the helpful employees. They've done a couple of repair and maintenance jobs on some of my lawn machines and the work was done correctly and pretty fast. read more

Love this store. Great mask use by employees, friendly long time employees are full of helpful advice and know where everything is. Good checkout experience with distancing and hand sanitizer at the register. I'm sure it is a bummer that they can no longer help load mulch and salt into cars but I'm a strong enough guy that I will survive. read more

This seemed to be a well-stocked, traditional hardware store. When I asked a question they were attentive and directed me toward the wire I intended to purchase. The spools were clearly marked for price per foot. After I told the gentlemen helping me how many feet I wanted he measured it out then gave me the wire and a slip that stated how many feet I got and the price per foot. The cashier seemed to have some difficulty ringing up my purchase. When he did finally get it rung up I went to sign the credit card pad and noticed the price had gone up 10% plus tax. I questioned him about the difference in price and he told me he knew the price went up from the slip but that they must not have had the updated price. If the shelf price is wrong, and if the gentlemen who helped me doesn't know the correct price, who does? Keep an eye on your purchases here. It's "guess the price" in effect. It's a shame because I try to patronize local hardware stores, but this won't be one of them again. read more

I said last time I went in here never again...well one year later had need for the same window well size that is not carried at my usual Settergren's Hardware. Same experience as last year...5-6 guys standing in Jerry's green shirts having a great time chatting with each other. Not one approached me to see if I need help...so had to go up and ask. Guy takes me back to the area and points to them up 8 ft on a shelf....I then have to ask him to get some down...he seemed shocked that all window wells are not the same size...I explained that concept to him and had him go through and find the correct one. It was at best comical that he had so little basic knowledge of a popular item at this time of the year and at worst frustrating. This is the same every time you go in to this place.
