I love Jersey Mike's subs, but I have argued over portions for the last time! Each time I came in, I got less and less meat. I would ask how many slices am I supposed to receive on my sandwich. They would tell me that it goes by weight (THE SCALE WAS NEVER USED). If they don't weigh it and they don't have a specific number of slices how am I sure I'm getting what I pay for? On a regular turkey sandwich, I have had anywhere between 6 to 11 slices. That's not a small difference, but with only 6 slices, it's almost half of what I have been told by some employees that 11 slices is typically what they put on the regular size turkey sandwich. I asked them to weigh my sandwich when I only got 6 slices and they had to add several more slices to the sandwich and then I would get a decent portion. The last time I went it was during a busy lunch time and they were light on the meat they put on and I asked them to weigh it. The scale's battery was low and they struggled to find a place to plug it in. When they plugged it in, they tared the scale, but when they weighed the supervisor weighed it with the cheese on it and said loudly that I got a healthy weight sandwich. Not only was she attempting to shame me for asking them to weigh it, but she insulted my intelligence by weighing it with the cheese. I didn't argue with her because I didn't want to hold up the people in line behind me. I paid for my food and left for the last time! I will not go somewhere where I feel I have to argue with someone over portions. If they want to cut portions and they WILL NOT utilize a standard system of consistency (either by counting slices or actually weighing) then they will very likely CUT away their customers. I am one they have cut away and I will NOT be going back.
I did try several times to reach out to their corporate offices and describe what I was experiencing so it could be resolved and it was EXTREMELY difficult to reach a live person. We had to communicate by leaving voice mails back and forth. It is also apparent that as a company, they don't place a high priority on customer service. If they did it wouldn't be such a painful process to reach a live person to resolve a problem. The service overall has turned me off to this brand now as a whole.
It's very unfortunate because the food (when prepared properly) is really good. Without a system of consistency in place, I will not be wasting my money with Jersey Mike's again! read more
