Located on West Market in Johnson City, it's at the corner with Indian Ridge road across from the Krispy Kreme donut shop. The bright yellow building has a large sign out front. You enter from Indian Ridge just off Market. The turn is a little tight depending on which way you're coming. I assume this area could get pretty crowded when they are busy. The deli is drive-through only, although they do have a couple picnic tables set up next to the corner so I guess you could eat there. My first order was just doing the drive through. I selected the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit ($3.09) and the biscuit and gravy ($2.89). I paid at the first window and drove around to the other side of the building. I had to wait between five and ten minutes, mostly because one of the vehicles in front of me had a large order. My sandwich was well-wrapped and the biscuit and gravy did not spill from the clamshell styrofoam container. The bacon was crispy and flavorful, the biscuit was not crumbly, and the entire sandwich was quite good. The biscuit and gravy were also very good. I typically need to add additional pepper to the gravy (personal preference), but this gravy really did have a strong pepper flavor and I did not need to add anything. The gravy was the perfect consistency, being thick but not paste. The next visit I tried the online ordering option. It's a bit different from the menu posted at the building, so make sure it has what you want before ordering. I selected the #2 Big Buc combo burger ($9.49). I was given an approximate time it would be ready and I arrived just before that time. The instructions say to pull into one of the two designated spots in their lot and call them to will bring the food out. Since no one was in the drive through I just went to the window. I told them I did an online order and they said they had just packaged it. The burger was very good. The meat is well-seasoned. The lettuce, tomato, and onion were fresh, and the bun was also fresh. The fries were slightly crispy on the outside and cooked perfectly on the inside. Even the iced tea was very good. The menu is rather extensive, and the entire menu is available all day. I was quite impressed with the quality, service, and prices. Buc Deli has been around a long time, but they certainly are keeping the quality high and the ingredients fresh, and the value makes going here an easy decision. read more

It's not glamorous and there are no frills, but it's pretty good and it's cheap. They are open from 5am-7pm Monday-Friday and it's pretty much drive-through only (at least I've never seen anyone other than drive through). They get pretty busy during the breakfast and lunch rush hours but the line moves quick enough. For breakfast I liked their chicken biscuit with cheese and a side of cheese munchers. For lunch their club sandwich is good. Their stew and cornbread is good and cheap. Overall not a bad place for a quick bite. read more

Had high expectations because of the comments but seriously, not that great. My club sandwich was smashed and soggy, but it tasted ok. They advertise shakes everywhere but they told us they do not and have not done shakes for years. My husbands burger was lukewarm, like it had been in a warmer, and the fries were cold. Decided to give Buc's a try since I always drive past it and always see a full drive thru. I got a big buc burger and fries. The burger was cooked well and had fresh toppings and the fries were very crispy! To be honest, I was expecting a better tasting burger and fries based on the reviews I read. I felt it was a little bland and the seasoning on the fries didn't really taste like much. I'd give it another try though! read more

I order my cheddar munchers at the first window and everything was great until I looked through the window and saw an employee grabbing the munchers out with her completely bare hands, no gloves, no scoop. Of course I was disgusted as I do not know where this employees hands have previously been. At the second window (the same employee I had seen twice now touching food with her bare hands) so I asked her if I had seen that correctly and she said "well we wash our hands and use scoops" except for the 2 times I had seen it? I find that hard to believe that I witnessed the only 2 times they haven't used a scoop. That excuse was not good enough for me. She may of had an open cut that was bleeding, or anything, so I have contacted the health department but I wanted others to know as well. read more

This is an example of how great i love this. I work night shift and sometimes when I get off in the mornings, I do not want to have eggs, biscuits and gravy. Its my dinner time. But I do want a chicken Philly sandwich with fries and the ladies there are amazing and they do a wonderful job. I enjoyed the chicken Philly. I enjoyed their chicken barbecue sandwich. Buc is a Pal's knock off with one difference - all Day cheddar rounds. When I hit that cheddar round craving after 10:30 I always make my way down there. The other Pal's difference I like is they have egg sandwiches. I don't eat meat so there isn't much of a breakfast option at Pal's for me. read more

Went today--fries were lukewarm, burger was cold (!), I had sweet ice rather than sweet tea, the lady was unhelpful when I asked for more ketchup, and through the window I could see an employee playing on his cell phone instead of working while I waited on my food. At least their prices are reasonable. :/ I remember Buc Deli being pretty good a few years ago; after today's experience, I won't be going back. Best kept secret in JC. Lived here for 2 years and never knew it exsisted. I love their breakfast sandwiches and for lunch they have a great grilled chicken, chicken filet sandwich, philly cheese sub, and oh my the CLUB is amazing. I stopped by on 10/6/15 after work and ordered a cheese steak. When I pulled around to the second window to pick up my food I watched the guy assemble my sandwich with no gloves. He placed my food in a bag and leaned back against the counter and pulled his cellphone out of his pocket. When the lady tried to hand me the bag I asked if they wear gloves when they make food. Her response was "sometimes" and immediately asked if I wanted my money back. The guy making food stated "thats ok I'll eat it for supper".
