Somehow never managed to visit a Jersey Mike's before (especially since a friend has told me numerous times how much he dislikes them). Stopped in for lunch a few days ago to see what the fuss was all about - place was hoppin' like Grand Central Station. Decided to order a Tuna Sub (regular/middle size). I was worried that while i was waiting, the few seats would fill up, but I was lucky. Subs are made in front of you and at a fast clip. I did notice that there was a fair amount of oil smeared over the tables (which makes sense to me now, as I later asked my friend WHY he hates Jersey Mike's & he said 'they must own stock in oil & vinegar companies because they use so much') - didn't overly bother me as it was busy & I wiped down my table with available napkins. Ambiance - typical noisy fast-food din, especially considering the time of day. Food - my sub was pretty good - tuna tasted fresh, bread was good.... seemed similar to a Subway. I suppose I should return and try some different items to make a better judgement - challenge accepted. read more

My experience at Jersey Mike's has always been consistent and I've always enjoyed their subs. Growing up in NJ, the bread they use and the way their subs are put together are what my definition of a sub should be. My favorite is The Super Sub served with Mike's Way - with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices.  And their Philly steak is as good as Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies - if not better due to additional ingredients such as grilled peppers. Aside from authentic subs, Jersey Mike's gives back to the community it serves every year via the Feeding America program (and others) as I was reminded by their TV commercial last weekend.  So this is an establishment that cares even as it continues to expand nationwide.  I feel good spending my meal money here.  I'm glad there's one so close to home. I love Jersey Mikes. It's by far my favorite place to eat a sub. Please don't ever build one near my home or that could be dangerous.

Cheesesteak subs are terrific here! Get the $15 for about $14 and it should satisfy you! The two cane sugar fountain beverages are the best picks. They are root beer and vanilla cream soda. The menu is not lengthy and fits on big wall signs. Staff are friendly and efficient but not overly accommodating. People waiting for pickup stand in front of the napkin dispenser, and employees disregard. The access to Jersey Mike's from the pike is not easy. It's near Vitamin Shoppe, Starbucks, Chipotle, and other businesses in the Trindle Run Center. As you approach 6455 Carlisle Pike, watch for the entrance up an incline to Jersey Mike's. All in all, the food is good. Pricey. Staff could improve their demeanor. They're one of a few hot cheesesteak sub places, so they need to be competitive. read more

We had a very good experience at this location, with the staff being very outgoing and friendly. The restaurant was very clean and tidy. After Quiznos left this area, I couldn't find another favorite for hot sub. When I heard Jersey Mike's has hot subs, I had to try them. I took a Chicken sub with mushrooms, cheese and onions. I did find the salt on the higher side, but that could be because of double cheese this sub came with. Next time, I'll try another sub with regular cheese. Also, the chicken was slightly dry. Still, the sub tasted good and was hot. The smallest size sub is enough for 2 people's lunch. I had placed my order online and the sub was ready on the pick-up shelf when I went. Ordered the super sub giant ? size... I think what I got was turkey ( maybe) meat tasted funny. What got me was the price. 17 dollars for what I would call large, but not super. Like all the places on the pike , expect children to serve you and if you are lucky you might get what you ordered , but expect to pay prices that are higher than usual for mediocre quality. And on top of that, they expect a tip. Ridiculous. If you want a good sub in this area I suggest Sal's pizza or somewhere else that is run by adults. Jersey mike should stay in New Jersey. read more

I'm sorry for this review somewhat. I lived in Philly for years. Know a good hoagie when I have one. Yesterday was the first time I tried a sub from Jersey Mike's - a Turkey Sub - for $15. Let me just say I was UNIMPRESSED and I will never darken their doors again. The waitstaff was nice and all, but the actual sub lacked flavor, didn't have enough cheese, and was just BLAH. Wegmans turkey sub, even though they have raised their price four times, is still better than this. Just sayin. Wegmans charged me $12.50 (last time) versus $15 at Jersey Mike's for the same sized sub. Also at Wegmans you can get your sub TOASTED! Go to Wegmans. Not Jersey Mike's. OR.. you can go to Philadelphia Steaks & Hoagies on the Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg. They also make fantastic hoagies, for much cheaper than Jersey Mike's or Wegmans. read more

I have always loved this JM location. It was the first in our area and well-established. The employees are top-notch, the place is usually kept clean, and the food is made-to-order and very good! I'm so glad I stopped in to try this place! They have a great selection of hot & cold subs. I got the #8 turkey club for there and an Italian and a #9 supreme club to go. The deli case is impressive and they slice the meat as each sub is ordered. You can get it "Mikes way" which is and oil & vinegar dressing, lettuce, tomato and onion. The bread was fresh and had a great texture. Even the next day, the bread held up to the Italian with all its dressing and hot pepper relish. The club subs come with bacon and it's gooooood bacon. Crispy like it should be. Mmm! Sodas are unlimited refills and they have Miss Vickie's brand chips, which I freaking adore! Clean restaurant and bathroom and fast, friendly service. A pretty darn good sub. Bread was great and the combonation of meats served "mike's way" was good. Service was quick the employees were nice. The place feels a little cramped but in the future I would get for takeout. I was confused by the menu, online there are a lot of selections but the menu board here has maybe 30 items. Look for the today's specials I didn't see it because it blends in. I would have got that. Joining the loyalty program was very easy. I wish the sub came with a pickle spear. My wife just stopped by on her way home, and she ordered three subs. We ordered a tuna sub, and it is absolutely a mess. The tuna fish is mixed with way too much mayonnaise, and when I opened the bag the tuna salad had mushed out of the sub roll. Just an absolute mess, and not something I will eat. There is never a need to have more mayonnaise than tuna fish in your tuna salad. It's gross, a complete oily mess, and inedible. We didn't even open the other two subs because this one is not acceptable. For years I have used Yelp as a guide of where to eat, and I have not posted reviews. Much better experience than the one star experience we had the first time we came. Staff seemed much more trained, they were attentive, courteous and helpful. The food was fresh and adequate of what you'd expect from a quick sub, if not above average dare I say. So there was wholesale improvement. Here's what I'll be critical of, and it's more of a corporate structure issue than anything; For myself, my wife and my three year old to eat a modest meal, it was over $30. For a similar meal at Jimmy John's or Subway, it would only be a $16-18 meal. Also, their sizing is bizarre. The kids meal size is so so tiny, my three year old can eat two subs this size. The small, is what the kids meal should be, but it wouldn't be enough for a bigger guy like me to eat as a meal, but the "Regular" is really the more appropriate size for a hungry person, but now you're talking 7-9 dollars per sub before you even add chips or a drink. Too me, this is exploiting the smaller sizes in order to push you to a larger size (more expensive sandwich). There is only a small size difference between child and small subs, but the jump from small to regular seems vast and purposeful. This is there right to do this, but to me it comes off as greedy rather than wanting to provide options to the consumer. Point being, id be more inclined to stop in and have Jersey Mike's more often if I knew there was an option for a smaller, more affordable sub (thus being both healthier and thriftier in the process), that wasn't the size of what the kids meal should be. I don't have verified sizes, and I'll have to cross reference with what corporate standards are, but the sizes that were shown to me were approximately; Childs: about 2" Small: about 4" Regular: appeared to be at least 8-9" Large: massive Just seems like an odd jump where you can have 4" sub or sub that is nearly a foot. Generally speaking, I'm not into sandwich shops. However, going to Jersey Mike's is a real treat. It's about the only place where I would order tuna fish - it's very good there. I've tried their Italian Sub and it's very good too. The shredded lettuce is always fresh and the tomatoes are always ripe. You can get double meat for a little extra. read more

We have visited Jersey Mike's in North Carolina and Virginia. We were very happy to see a store open in Mechanicsburg. We could not resist stopping in for a visit. What a GREAT experience. The staff made us feel extremely welcome from the time we entered until the time we departed. We had Roast Beef Sandwiches. They were fantastic!!! The meat was nicely flavored; the bread was soft and tasty; the vegetables were fresh. Although the cost is a little more that other sandwich shops, the end product is well worth the expense. The only other sandwich shop that comes close to Jersey Mike's is Port of Subs in Las Vegas, NV., but Jersey Mike's is better. We will DEFINITELY visit Jersey Mike's again. read more

Solid 3.5. Nothing bad to say really but nothing jumping out at me as "whoa". They have an app you can download and earn points and that's always fun for me. I also like that you can order online and pick up your food rather than wait in line. The staff that I encountered on my one visit was friendly and I hope it stays that way because its always nice to walk into a place and be greeted. As for the food, its a bummer that there aren't any other sides other than chips. But I get it. Its a sandwich joint. Chips are good with sandwiches. Having some different side options would take it over the edge. The sandwiches are good. The bread is soft and the toppings and meat are fresh. They also have the hot pepper relish which I LOVE. I also got a cookie and it was soft and sweet but overall meh in the world of chocolate chip cookies. I've been to numerous Jersey Mike's over the years. It was nice to see a new franchise open up within 20-30 min from me. I popped in tonight for the first time and was really glad I did. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Everyone appeared to be happy to be there and taking care of the customers. That's a rare thing to see out there in any restaurant or retail store. The restaurant was also clean and easily accessible. Out of all the big box sub shops Jersey Mike's is my favorite. Great start for this location! read more

Jersey Mike's is a chain hoagie(sub) shop that just opened a new location in Mechanicsburg. If you have been to any shore town in North Jersey then you have probably seen this shop before. They are known for cranking out great sandwiches with all fresh ingredients. They slice all the deli meats to order which gives it the feel of a good ol fashioned Italian deli. Being a Philly guy in Central Pa I am glad that this place has a legit cheesesteak! No option for wiz but still a great sandwich. I have been here a couple times and have always been really pleased with food. My only knock on this place is it is a little awkward when it is busy to wait in line right next to the tables where people are eating. Jersey Mike's is a Premier hoagie shop. It's a little difficult to get to from the Carlisle Pike. The bread is absolutely fabulous that's what makes the hoagie so good. We stopped at this location thinking it would be like other we have visited in our home state, what a MISTAKE these people act like the customer owes them & we do not matter! They were more interested in talking & cellphones than working. Why are kids working here without a responsible & properly trained adult? WE WILL NEVER BE BACK!
