I have bounced around to different Fort Lauderdale salons after moving here 5 years ago and couldn't quite find a perfect fit with the dozen or so places I have tried out. I wanted an easy low maintenance blond (yes I know, no such thing with blond), and Tomy came through. I came in with three layers of color- dark roots about 2 inches long, bleached muddy blond through the middle and orange ends. It was a disaster grow out. I had a consult with Markie for blonde highlights and to blend in my roots but since Markie couldn't do highlights at the moment, she deferred me to Tomy. I didn't know I was in for a treat. I showed Tomy pics of what I wanted and he insisted that the color I wanted would wash me out and that I would not be happy with the maintenance since I wanted low maintenance. Initially, I was disheartened but I can appreciate his honesty and after he explained what he thought would work better for me yet achieve something close to what I was looking for. I thought I came in for a consult but he worked me in between his clients so that he could show me what he could achieve yet still make me happy. Mind you, the salon was super busy but the man is a multitasking genius! He did a toner and root scrape while Markie did my haircut and Yasleen did my blowout. Did I mention that my color was a disaster? Well, 2 hours later, what was flat and orange and 3 different colors was now bright, golden and well blended. My dark roots melted into the blond so seamlessly, you would think Michelangelo painted it himself. I absolutely love the results!

She…read morehelped me touch up my roots, which have a lot of gray in them and I really like the dye that she use because it did not burn my scalp.. also she paid a lot of attention to detail like she put this paper stuff on the front so that there were not any floaters just flying around and then whenever she shampooed she tried to scrub around my hairline to get all the dye off.. she put this really good stuff in my hair at the end and gave me some product to try out in a little cup for later. I put in the notes section of the comment what I was coming in for and booked it. I showed up day of, and I was told they put me with someone else bc the person I made the appt with was inexperienced. (Then why did they put her on the schedule for someone to choose? ) they said that they tried contacting me to let me know bc they didn't know what I wanted (it was in my notes section when I made the appt), and the person they put me with was 35$ more than the person i picked. From a tier 1 of 55$ to a higher tier person at 90$?! They were very polite about it and understanding when I said 90$ was too much for a trim on the back of my short hair, and I wasn't staying for it. But I don't think I'll be going back ever again. The only thing to note is to make sure they use heat protectant when they do your hair because I don't believe they did for me, but still turned out stunning. It also took less than 2 hours which is insanely fast for my hair type.
