I love the his church what can I say!! This is the only church that has mass service after work…read moreeveryday except for Mondays. But thankfully on special days like today 7.31.23, they had a special mass for their namesake's feast day! Father Tom Lucas is the pastor and tonight there were other Jesuits present but most importantly Fr. Tom O'Neill is leaving! He is moving to LA and I sure will miss him. I always got something so great from his homilies; his calm, gentle demeanor along with his direct statements and smile but most importantly his love for Jesus shows. Overall, this is one of the churches I frequent bc it's centrally located in Sacramento, specifically in the Arden area. I also like that it is clean and bright. It does get busy along Watt and Arden but nevertheless, it's still a nice church to go to especially after work when you just want to pray for all the patients, your colleagues and everyone else! Check out this church, there's also free parking unlike in downtown where you have to pay at the meter spots. And don't forget to admire the beautiful roses on display right alongside the brick wall of the church.

I enjoy attending Mass here. The people are friendly and the priests give good homilies.read more

There's a lot of things that this school can improve on, specifically for the older kids. The teaching left my son way behind academically during freshman year. The education here is not well and the school is poor, with fundraisers popping up often. The faculty is negligent as well. I've heard that the junior high teachers make students stand outside and wait outside for long periods of time as well. The school mostly does fun things for the younger students, completely ruining the fun for the older kids. This school claims it's inclusive, but my son's comments say otherwise. I would not send my kids here at all, poor teaching and clearly does not care for the older children.

This is a dynamic small school that focuses on values, safety and education. I'm an active parent…read moreand I love seeing my children grow. We've been here for many years, and have seen the staff nurture and love our kids with gentle conversations, strict lessons, and pushing them to be better students. A bilingual education was a must, and having them immersed in a multi cultural world at a college prep level school exceeds my expectations. This school is the only dual immersion Catholic school in our region, and grateful for the opportunity. It has a community of involved families, and like minded individuals that want their children to have all the advantages available to them.

My son attended Arden Middle School for about six months during his 7th grade year before we had to…read morerelocate out of state for my job. He had a really positive experience during his attendance, and I'm glad he ended up here. Originally, Arden wasn't part of our assigned school, but it seems boundaries were updated--and honestly, I was so relieved since Arden is the better option compared to other middle schools in the area, like Katherine Johnson. The campus does have a slightly "posh" feel, which initially made me a bit skeptical about how the environment and staffing might be, especially given some past issues I've had with staff at his previous elementary school. Thankfully, those concerns didn't turn out to be an issue. The front office staff were friendly whenever I interacted with them, and my son never had any complaints during his time here. Most importantly, the school feels safe and well-structured. One thing I really appreciated was the communication from teachers. My son had done well in math previously, so he was placed into a higher-level class when he started. However, he ended up struggling to keep up. His teacher proactively reached out and recommended moving him to a class that better matched his pace, and I was totally on board with it. That level of attentiveness and willingness to adjust made a big difference for us. As for logistics, drop-off and pick-up can be a bit hectic. There are often long lines of cars that spill out into the street, making it somewhat difficult to get in and out. That said, once you understand the flow, it's fairly straightforward. The only real downside I experienced was during the withdrawal process when we moved. There's a form that needs to be submitted, and it can take a few days to be reviewed or processed if staff are busy. In the meantime, I had to keep calling the attendance line daily to report absences, even though we had already moved out of state. Since it's an automated system, it wasn't always easy to get confirmation or assistance, which was a bit frustrating. Aside from that administrative hiccup, my experience with the school in person was always smooth. Overall, I'd say this is a solid and safe choice for a middle school, and from what I've seen of the curriculum and materials, students are receiving a good education here.

Overall, this school is good. I'm an 8th grader at Arden, and I did not attend Arden Middle for 6th…read moregrade, so I've been a student here since last year. I don't know much about the 6th grade teachers, but I do know that a lot of the 7th grade teachers at Arden are great. Mrs. Lohmann is a really awesome teacher--she's very good at teaching 7th grade science. I had A's in her class most of the year. This year, the teachers are pretty good (mostly) but there are a few 8th grade teachers who are not good at their jobs. I've always struggled with math, but Mr. Baskin--one of the 8th grade math teachers at Arden has turned me into a straight A student (so far). He is by far one of the best math teachers i've ever had and really knows how to help his students understand the different kinds of math we learn throughout the year. I have made some really good friends here, and I know that this school is somewhat labeled as the "rich kid" middle school, but kids at Arden don't judge you based on how much money you have. As far as the office and staff--the principal is very nice, but the 2 vice principals we have at Arden can sometimes be pretty rude and unhelpful. The office staff is ok, but they can sometimes look at you when you walk in as if they are judging you about something. The kids in middle school are definitely much ruder then at elementary school, but that's what most kids act like in middle school, so it's nothing new. You'll be just fine at Arden as long as you have a few friends you can hang out with during classes or at lunch. So, overall, Arden Middle School is a good school, and I would recommend taking your student here--it helps the students prepare for high school with honors classes, which will help them get used to harder work.
