They also built a new library sometime in my junior year. Both places were pretty nice. I loved all of my teachers (I was in Special Ed, but I took some General Ed classes)! The staff there were also very friendly as well. The reason I chose this school was because my old friends wanted to go there, but I made new friends there too. My absolute favorite teachers were Mrs. Lorge, Mr. Kaul, and Ms. Uno. Sadly, the latter two retired after I graduated, but they were very awesome! I enjoyed spending my four years at this school.

I want her around competent school staff. If this is your neighborhood school let them only attend for a year and get them out of their once lottery comes around. Originally, Arden wasn't part of our assigned school, but it seems boundaries were updated--and honestly, I was so relieved since Arden is the better option compared to other middle schools in the area, like Katherine Johnson. The campus does have a slightly "posh" feel, which initially made me a bit skeptical about how the environment and staffing might be, especially given some past issues I've had with staff at his previous elementary school. Thankfully, those concerns didn't turn out to be an issue. The front office staff were friendly whenever I interacted with them, and my son never had any complaints during his time here. Most importantly, the school feels safe and well-structured. One thing I really appreciated was the communication from teachers. My son had done well in math previously, so he was placed into a higher-level class when he started. However, he ended up struggling to keep up. His teacher proactively reached out and recommended moving him to a class that better matched his pace, and I was totally on board with it. That level of attentiveness and willingness to adjust made a big difference for us. As for logistics, drop-off and pick-up can be a bit hectic. There are often long lines of cars that spill out into the street, making it somewhat difficult to get in and out. That said, once you understand the flow, it's fairly straightforward. The only real downside I experienced was during the withdrawal process when we moved. There's a form that needs to be submitted, and it can take a few days to be reviewed or processed if staff are busy. In the meantime, I had to keep calling the attendance line daily to report absences, even though we had already moved out of state. Since it's an automated system, it wasn't always easy to get confirmation or assistance, which was a bit frustrating. Aside from that administrative hiccup, my experience with the school in person was always smooth. Overall, I'd say this is a solid and safe choice for a middle school, and from what I've seen of the curriculum and materials, students are receiving a good education here.

Camila Ocurgera and some of her friends made my school year absolute hell, and there was so much other bullshit going on that made me dread being there. I also had issues with students taking shit from backpacks, which is completely unacceptable and made it hard to feel comfortable leaving my belongings anywhere. The food wasn't much better either--the pizza tasted like it had been sitting around forever and then reheated for lunch, which is honestly disgusting. I also had a terrible experience with the nurse when I went in because I had a headache and was offered an ice pack, even though that wasn't what I was asking for. When I tried to contact my parent or ask to be picked up, I felt like I wasn't being taken seriously. Overall, there was way too much drama, too many problems, and not enough support from staff. My experience with the administration, including the vice principal, was also extremely frustrating. Well, it has been nearly twenty years…read more(gasp) since I went here, but oh well, may as well drag up some old memories and write about it. When I went here, it was an okay place. There was the library, which I probably set foot in maybe twice in four years. Of course there was the cafeteria, which seemed fuddy duddy, gym room, etc. Del Campo never had its own football stadium so all of our home games were played at San Juan High School. It was kind of a drag, but that's how it goes. Computers were still a new fangled thing, but we had Apple computers in Yearbook. In fact, a lot of my computer skills were the things I learned there. French class was my absolute favorite. Madame Eisner was the best! I took a trip to Europe with her too. My English teachers were fantastic, in particular Mr. Cody. High school years were not "the best years of my life", but college years definitely were. I got there early and they had pre-recorded messages on the loud speaker from graduating students. I guess the school though it was OK for one of the recordings to include curse words. And since it was pre-recorded i had to hear it over and over. I cant believe the school thought that was ok. Than as they announced the graduating class individually to accept they're diploma there was a handful of disrespectful students who yelled in the microphone as the next students name was being announced. So disrespectful to the next student being acknowledged. I would of been more pissed had that been my nephews name who was over shadowed by the former student that decided it was OK to take charge of the microphone.
