We originally had recurring lawn and shrub trimming for our front yard, but due to a lack of detail and inconsistent quality, we scaled it back to lawn-only. Our shrubs were often chopped in odd ways, as if the trimmers were run through them quickly and haphazardly. We eventually decided it was better to maintain our bushes and shrubs ourselves. The lawn mowing and edging are generally good, but we were really disappointed to find that the trunks of our young perimeter shrubs had been damaged. It seems that because the mower couldn't fit, an edge trimmer was used around the trunks, but without enough care, resulting in deep nicks to the thin bark. These Gardner's are horrible. They do a half fast jobs and they expect to get paid! Every thing was over grown. They come in and leave in 15 minutes that's if they show up. Fernando and his crew came out and took care of our front yard demo super quick! They were professional and friendly and careful. We had them dig up the front yard, and demo the brick planter near the house for our upcoming redesign with Cal natives and new concrete. They took care of working with the city (Long Beach) getting the permit for the dumpster and had it delivered a day in advance of the job start. They also did a separate haul away of the brick, concrete and green waste with their own trailers. A side note to the great job is that while they were working with the rototiller I had a concrete estimate going on. Fernando recognized the volume and dust being kicked up might be hard for us to communicate and he had his crew stop for a second , without me asking. That is a considerate business person to me. We set up an appointment on Yelp to have Jesus take a tree out of our backyard. When the day came and he missed the window provided, we messaged him asking what was up. He messaged back and just said "we ended up moving all extra jobs for tomorrow". Wth? No apology, no heads up. We could have done other things with our morning instead of waiting for him. When we asked if we could get a discount for the inconvenience, he offered to give us the low end of the original estimate. It was something, but not quite enough to make up for our lost time. I Scheduled a appointment with this company two days ago. They were to give a estimate for pavers and possibly landscaping on my front yard then if all went well my backyard was next. We had so much troubles with our lawn that we finally decided to re-sod and redo the sprinkler system. Had several people come out to give quotes and decided to go with Jesus Lawn Maintenance because Fernando was very professional, responsive, clear and punctual.
