I needed to have 2 manual irrigation valves replaced with a more automatic timer system. Jose had quick communication and the best price. He recommended a battery style device and was able to install 2 days after our initial conversation. Once we arrived, he pointed out that my system had no valve to isolate turning off the irrigation, so anytime I needed to make a repair I had to turn the water off to the whole property. Not the best solution, so he suggested adding a valve to the irrigation system. I'm so appreciative of the extra time he spent making that happen for me. I originally contacted them through Yelp and David reached out to me in a few minutes. We made an appointment and he showed up on time. We talked about a few ideas, and he gave me a few options. Ultimately I'm not an expert at this, so I asked David for his input and his thoughts. Him and his team really know what works best for different types of landscaping. I ended up hiring him to do my landscaping. The project and tell removing existing lawn and put in in some succulents and decomposed granite. I also asked them to clean up the flowerbeds and put in new flowers and also fix the masonry. His team came out to work and completed the job as planned and on time and on budget. After the job was completed I hired his team to handle the biweekly landscape management which includes cutting the grass and also cleaning out the flowerbeds. As a business owner myself I don't like to leave reviews but at this point it's ridiculous. I paid for them to come and fix my sprinklers as my front lawn was not working and to reseed by back yard. The day they came out I thought they did a good job but I soon found out the sprinklers only worked in the backyard after I specifically asked he got the front ones working as well. I let him know about the issue and made 3 appointments for him to return to look at the front and all 3 times he never showed or called. I contracted with Herrera to install an irrigation system and new sod for a more drought-resistant lawn. David listened well as I described what I wanted and kept notes and he also gave a number of suggestions that I appreciated, such as laying out a drip system and border for the plants around the perimeter of the lawn. Once I decided to go with Herrera the work started the following week. The project took five days from start to finish. David and his crew showed up on time each day (and there were even a couple of days when they arrived early). At the end of each day David gave me a walk-through of what they completed that day and what's happening the next day. I always felt like I knew what was going on. David also stopped by a couple of times after the conclusion of the project just to make sure the irrigation system was working correctly. I have been very pleased with Herrera. They are very professional and courteous. Great guy and even better landscaper. They have done a lot of work on my home and they have done a great job every time. They installed grass, helped plant large ficus tree scapes, and completely redid my irrigation system to full working order. They even trimmed my 50-foot palm trees and cleaned them well. My house needed upkeep for my lawns and my irrigation system wasn't doing too well. In fact, i don't know how the previous owners were able to keep it maintained without hiring someone to maintain it because the sprinklers were not hitting the correct spots on the lawn. Either way, i called around and got quotes from a couple of people and there were so many that just seemed like they are out to get your money. One guy even quoted me $1,500 to fix it. Ludicrous. Anyway, i called herrera and met up with David. First of all, this guy is very respectful, nice and knows what he is doing. His father came and fixed my irrigation system for a fair price, especially given all the previous quotes i got. He even helped me install my sprinkler timers. It works great now.... A week or two later, one of the sprinkler heads got damaged. I contact David and he came out very soon and fixed it. Honestly, they are responsive (although be patient with them because they are busy with other clients too), fast and appear to be meticulous at this job.
