We came here on recommendation about having the Philly cheesesteak fries, went inside and it was pretty dark and a small entry There is a long bar on the side with a view of the cooks & the kitchen, was greeted and told to sit anywhere, we decided to sit at the outdoor picnic table. We placed our order & went outside. Order came in a timely fashion and looked as good as it tasted. Perfectly cooked fries and delicious chunks of meant, good portions of onion bell pepper and some mushrooms all sautéed and smothered with cheese. Very tasty- now it's my turn to recommend it to you! I have no clue what rating to give this place. On one hand the burger was one of the best I've had in a long time and the lady that was working was so super nice and sweet. On the other hand, I won't be going back to this place. See, they allow smoking, as it is a bar, and I just can't stand cigarette smoke. We walked in and as soon as we saw the ashtrays we we super hesitant but we were super hungry and there wasn't anyone in there. But we still walked out, sat in the car then went back in as the lady inside promised us one of the best burgers around. Plus there were a couple outside tables if someone came in smoking. And they did, so we moved outside and actually the view was nice, the day was gorgeous and if it weren't for the spider crawling on me it would have been perfect. I know I took his spot but ew spiders. Anyway those burgers were fantastic! I got a plain cheeseburger as I didn't want anything on mine and was worried it would be dry but absolutely no worry about that! That burger was so juicy and had so much melty cheese on it and such a delicious taste! It seriously was so good!! The fries were good and fresh and seasoned but I'm not a big French fry eater so gave most of mine to hubby as usual. It looks like a little hole in the wall, and it is. It's a smoky little bar but this was the cleanest place I've been in in forever too. When we walked in it smelled like bleach which at least tells me they had been cleaning and the bathrooms were spotless! But damn, that cigarette smoke. Otherwise this would be a definite 5 star. I'll still give it 4 though for the great food, cleanliness and the super friendly lady that was working. I just sadly won't be back. read more

We went to several restaurants in Surfside beach during our stay and this one was the worst. I have no clue where the good reviews come from. The fries were cold when served, the main dishes were just okay, but by far the worst part was that the service was extremely slow. From the time we sat down to the time we left was 2 hours and we ordered right away (ordered at the same time as our drink order), and ate our food in about 10 minutes. We were in a hurry and had no idea it would take 1.5 hours to get our food and another 30 minutes to get our check after asking for it a few times. The tables were sticky and the restaurant had hardly any light on top of it all. I wouldn't recommend! read more

We took some time off and stayed at Surfside this past weekend. For dinner one night, we stopped by The Jetty Shack. My wife, daughter and I sat inside and ordered some food. The place was not busy for a Saturday Night. It took a while to get the food to us, so imagine my disappointment when my daughter's Cod was ice cold in the center. We sent the plate back and received a new plate. This time, the Cod was cooked thru, or at least fried long enough. My wife's food and mine was very good. I had the Philly Cheese Steak and she had the Philly Salad. The waitress forgot our side of Fried Pickles. I had to remind her. Also, I had ordered onion rings instead of fries for my side. I got fries instead. I didn't bother to ask for the onion rings since it took quite a while to get our food in the first place. All in all, it was a decent place to grab a bite in a town with not many options. Heck, the Pizza at the local convenience store was probably the best pizza we have had in a while!! read more

Nice little place to grab a bite to eat with the kids. Prices are very reasonable. My kids had chicken tenders and corn dog with fries from kids menu and I had the BLT. Nice size portions I would say overall. Service was very pleasant and welcoming. All in all I would definitely stop by again when in the beach. read more

I visited this establishment based on reviews on a recent trip to the gulf. The food was average. The onion rings were good but when I placed my order to go, I requested ranch and got none. Plus, when I went in, the two ladies working behind the bar hadn't even started my order, which I'd placed 15 minutes prior. Decided to try this place during an outing with family. Very friendly atmosphere, would probably be a cool place to hang out with friends for drinks... Now about the food. Big ole NOPE from us! We ordered several different burgers, and the chili cheese fries. No one in our group like their burgers. They were VERY bland. The patties were large, I'll give them that, but they tasted like they had been frozen and not seasoned. Fries were good. Chili wasn't good at all! We went on Friday night. Not a place for kids. People were smoking, it was extremely hot, and very dark inside. We ended up sitting outside and we're more comfortable there, at least we had some kind of breeze outside. The food was subpar. Come for the shitty food, stay for the racism. Came in close to closing time during the week; the person who seated us said the kitchen was still open. We were with a couple of friends and our children. We sat, server took our drink order (waters and a couple of beers), and we...sat. People around us (presumably mostly locals) ordered, were served, got refills - we sat with our empty drinks waiting for someone to serve us. When we finally flagged the server down, we were informed that they were no longer serving food, but we could still order drinks. I would normally be understanding - shit happens, and we came in not long before food service stopped. But we watched other people around us order and be served while we waited. One of the tables closest to us must have heard us grumbling, because a man at that table turned around to tell us that if we wanted to be treated "like white people" we shouldn't come in "with n***ers." One of our party was biracial, the rest of us are white. Our server was standing at that person's table during this exchange. We paid for our beers and left. Not only will we never return, we will tell everyone we know not to go here. We never got food, but from what we could see of the fare brought to others, we didn't miss much. read more

They do have a sign saying masks are required but no one was wearing one- including the staff. I will not be going back which is a shame since there aren't many options. The burgers were HUGE and my husband loved his cheese burger. I had the mushroom Swiss and it was over cooked, but then I don't recall her even asking how we wanted the burgers cooked. They also don't offer a kids burger....when burgers is practically the only thing on the menu. My kids ended up getting grilled cheese. $9 for a burger my kids may not even eat wasn't worth the risk. Overall an ok place with tourist prices. A local suggested the Purple Cow for a similar option and only $6.50. We never made it there to try it. They also allow smoking so be prepared for it.
