I went in to sell my tiny wedding band from my ex. It was sitting in my drawer for 4 years and I had completely forgot about it. Super tiny with like 1/10 k of diamonds. First thing I noticed was just how polished and utterly spacious this shop was - something you just won't know passing by in a car. And I also noticed they carried a lot of high end products all set very nicely in their shop. A gentleman greeted me, quickly gave me a price to replace the watch, took it off me and went upstairs to work it. Took a bit less than 10 min and I was done. I asked earlier for polishing but for that he said I would have to leave it there and I wasn't planning on it at this time. If I had known such a shop was right under my nose, I should've gotten my wedding bands done here instead of in the mall. I would always support local and small businesses over chains and national retailers! I heartily recommend everyone getting fashionable jewelries high-end or even more casual, watches, polishing/repairs to go to D'Amore Jewelers. Within a year, the structural integrity of the work failed: the seam where the ring was cut is now visibly open and physically sharp to the touch. This is a clear case of improper fusing or the use of inferior solder--platinum should be seamlessly welded, not left with a failing joint. When I reached out to resolve this, they admitted the repair would cost over $500 and offered a measly 15% discount. It is predatory to charge $60 to remove a piece of my platinum, then demand over $500 to fix a seam that shouldn't have failed in the first place. I expected this company to stand behind their benchwork, but instead, they are trying to profit off their own technical error. I no longer trust them with my jewelry and suggest others look elsewhere for quality platinum work.
