I've taken screenshots of every negative review and they all have the same thing in common I'm giving this place 1 star only bc I have to. They are mean, unwilling to help, and just plain impossible to deal with. The owner of the store sold me a vintage LeCoultre watch for 1000$. I had been there in previous days to check some things out. The original price of this watch was 1500$. And he next time I went in it had dropped to 1000$. So I took my opportunity and purchased it. Later that day while i was wearing it the crystal falls off the wrist watch. This guy knew it that this watch was faulty. When I brought it back to return it, he says his policy is no refunds, store credit only. There was nothing else i wanted there so store credit was useless. Plus he was rude and obnoxious. It was a horrible experience xperience. What a as interesting though was that the last time I had been there, there was another man in the store very unhappy. The owner is dishonest, lies, and won't even logically reason with you. He took no fault nor did he apologize for the faulty watch. Instead he stood there with cold eyes. I finally decided this isn't going anywhere so I'll take the equivalent of 1000$ in gold. So hopefully by selling it ill get at least something back. My prediction though is that I'm only able to get a few hundred back when I sell it. I have to cut my losses at that point. Never go to this place. Jewelry Land is one of the worst if not the very worst jewelry stores he ever been to.!! Gigantic rip off. Don't go !! I received 225$ for the gold I received. they stole 800$ from me without batting an eye. The owner is a terrible human being. I've never in my life dealt with an actual scam artist who owns an actual storefront. From a different customer:: brought a gold diamond engagement ring here to be resized in February. They measured her finger to determine the size that was needed. Came back a few days later to pick it up and it was still just as big as it was before. Called them twice to ask about it and the only thing he said was that if I brought it in again I would need to pay full price to get him to do any work on it, even though it seemed like he didn't do anything the first time. Just brought it to another jeweler who confirmed the ring was the same size as before. They refused to refund me and took the money and didn't do any work on the ring. Absolutely not confused this place with another store. Really would kinda just like my money back because they charged me $87 to size the ring from a size 4.5 to a size 4 and when I brought it to another jeweler to measure he confirmed it's still a size 4.5.I'm They are horrible. read more

Jewelry Land is an excellent business that I trust to handle my jewelry. I damaged my engagement ring by accident and came here after being quoted a crazy amount in the diamond district for repair, and Jewelry Land quoted me at a fraction of that price. Here, it isn't necessarily that you get what you pay for, because when I picked up my ring it was as good as new! It is quite a journey for me to travel to the upper west side when I have so many jewelers around me in the Chelsea/Midtown area. However, I feel like it's hard to find a jeweler you can really trust and thus it is worth the trip for me to come up here. I highly recommend Jewelry Land for your jewelry needs!! read more

In March my son bought a 14k anklet as a present at JEWELRYLAND on my recommendation. At the end of May the clasp broke for no apparent reason .When I asked for free repair as it was only 2 months the owner balked and said it would cost $55 It didnt matter it was 14k and to him 2 months was a too long a time Let me say I have used this store quite often over the years for repairs and jewelry as it is my local store and support small business and was always pleased But this was over the top....... 2 month old anklet repair $55!!!!! after much much haggling he agreed to $20 AND he completed the repair in less then 5 minutes. On google the 14k Spring Ring Clasp is $6 So I advice not to get jewelry there because if it breaks for no fault on your part they will charge you a 1/3 of its cost for a repair... or try He just didn't get he was loosing a long time customer in the process. read more

Not open during stated hours (arrived at 10:15 am), even though I called yesterday to verify hours of operation, and hours painted on the locked gate match what's on Yelp. No answer when I called. Update 5/19 Well, I thought I'd give this place another try since it's the only place I can get to during the work day and I teach down the street. I should have known better. I went in to get my engagement ring resized-- something I'd done before (with my previous engagement ring...another story) for under $50. They wanted $110, but I figured it was because they were adding gold, and I could deal with it for the convenience factor. I asked when it would be ready, and they said a week. This was Monday, and I asked very nicely if they could possibly get it done by Friday morning, since I was leaving town for a bit on Friday afternoon. If they'd said no, I'd have dealt with it, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. The front desk lady asked the jeweler, who said, "Of course. Friday morning. No problem." Like I said, I'm a teacher, and Fridays are hectic. I got someone to cover my class for a few minutes so I could run down and pick up my ring. I walked in at 11:45 (just about the latest definition of "Friday morning" that one could reasonably argue), and it's not ready. No excuse, no apology, just "we'll have it this afternoon." Apparently, another jeweler is coming in at 1, and he'll work on it then, for all the good it does me, since I'll be on my way out of town. I paid half the cost as a deposit, but there's no way I'm paying the full price when they didn't follow through. We'll see how that goes... read more

I went to Jewelry Land to get all of my batteries replaced for my watches and ended up getting my wife's rings and bracelets polished as well. Amazing service and cost efficient. Other places charged me double and wasn't good as Jewelry Land. I highly recommend this place. Great for: Watch Repairs (high end) - Movado, Rolex and higher end.... They carry an uncommon diversity and variety of jewelry in their small, comfortable storefront. Though I search (it's a game I play when I go near or in the store), nothing catches my eye as cheap, as less than quality (in their terms it must mean precious and high-end semi-precious goods only). Their walk-in repairs are more than fast, they're downright quick, so don't even think of waiting in Starbucks. As far as pricing goes, I always have the feeling that they charge half of what other jewelers do. I keep going back and always will. read more

Besides changing watch batteries, they also have a great inexpensive but reliable watch selection (the usual casio, timex, and the nicer citizen watches) and some jewelry that I didn't have time to look at because my watch battery replacement was so fast. read more

Although the location is no longer convenient for me, I keep returning here due to the fine service I always receive here. Usually, I'm just buying a replacement wristband or getting a new battery--though there are many watches in my price range for sale (Timex and Casio, for example). Today's visit was typical of the shop's competence and integrity: after examining my Timex, I was informed that the battery was fine, but the contacts were not properly aligned, and needed to be adjusted--which was then done without charge. I then bought a handsome replacement watchband for $15; what more could you ask for? read more

Very unprofessional. We went to ask for a price for resizing an engagement ring. A few days later, we came back with the ring and the price was no longer the same - it was higher. All of a sudden they acted as if they have never seen us before.... DO NOT GO HERE!!! There is a really nice store just few blocks away with great customer service and awesome prices!!! I've been to this place a few times to get my watch batteries fixed, and things generally go really well. Except today, when the dude straight up BROKE my watch, then when I was like, "Hey, now all these things don't work, even though it's telling time fine," he goes, "I'm no magician, I can't break it!" THEN, he tried charging me $9, and I go, "No, it's only $8," and he goes, "Oh, OK." WTF!?!?!? I'm sending my watch to the manufacturer to get it fixed properly, and will never go back after this douche dude tried hustling me for an extra $1. F this place. read more

I love this place! I have gone to their store three times so far, having fixed two watches and one sunglasses. Every time, the staff fixed my item in less than 10 minutes for 6 dollars or so. This place is wonderful! They have great hours, prices, and service. I had several items repaired there and they did it quickly and skillfully. I had a watch that they were unable to repair; they called me immediately to let me know and refunded me in cash. I also had my engagement ring appraised in 30 minutes for insurance purposes. All the other work I had done was phenomenal: a chain repair, ring repair, and adding pearls to a necklace (they even gave me a great deal on the pearls!). Bought a replacement car remote battery (a CR2450, about the size of a quarter) from Jewelryland. Guy said it was expensive, charged me $20 + tax. I swallowed and paid the money -- needed to drive my car. When I checked on Amazon, I see that the battery costs between 89 cents and $1.18 @ in various multipacks. We're talking a 2000% markup. When I returned to the store to protest the price, he professed surprise & claimed that he charged nearly what his wholesaler charged him. (He made no offer to make it right, of course.) I like supporting Mom and Pop stores in the nabe but this is ridiculous. read more

Not recommended - I've encountered repeated issues with these folks: 1. They misaligned the O-ring on a waterproof watch I brought in for a battery replacement. The watch stopped working after I immersed it. 2. After bringing the watch back, they didn't acknowledge having caused the problem and charged me for a new movement. After having the movement replaced, I found that it rattled around in the case when I tried to adjust the time. 3. I brought another watch in to have the band repaired. After paying in advance, they charged me a second time when I collected the watch because they failed to record my payment. Don't waste your money on these incompetents. read more
