I've also come here to have jewelry repaired - they managed to fix a very dainty necklace that had broken and it's been perfect ever since. They are extremely nice and professional. I went in to have my watch band sized and was met with the staff who had a great attitude and a smile. The place reminded me of the old fashioned jewelry stores in Miami and that's a good thing! They have a wide selection of jewelry; however, the service was awful. I went in to get a pair of backs for some earrings. The dark haired man at the counter grabbed some for me and said they'd be $10. He adjusted them to fit the earrings. I then handed him a $20 and he then said "ok great it's $20." I then said "didn't you just say it's $10?" He then changed his statement and said "no it's $10 each." If he said $10 each from the start it would've been fine, but he phrased it differently once the money was in his hands and my earrings were on. I just found it very unprofessional and rude. He then said he would just charge $10 because he didn't mean to confuse me. He then only gave me $14 back. At that point I was just frustrated and felt tricked so I just left. read more

I have been going to Jewelry Plus to get my watch batteries replaced but knowing that they also make custom pieces, I decided to give them a try. I received a half-dollar coin from my parents which had the year I was born. I thought it to be so precious that I wanted to showcase it instead of putting it away as a momentum. I spoke with Warren who instantly came up with an idea and I could not have imagined how great it would have turned out (as you can see from the photos). I had my ring resized at Jewelry Plus, and paid the $35.00 service fee in advance. The ring still didn't fit correctly so I asked for a ring guard, and the guy said it'd cost another $15.00 which I refused to buy because it was their job to properly resize my ring for the money I'd already paid; but the resizing wasn't properly done. Terrible customer service, and a crooked business for keeping my money & trying to charge me more because the ring still didn't fit even after they resized it incorrectly!!! read more

I was looking for someone to solder some very tiny, sterling silver jump rings on a pendant I cast for my mother. I stopped by Jewelry Plus after work one day and they were more than happy to help me. I considered it a trivial job, possibly something they wouldn't want to do but they were delighted to help me. When I went to pick up the necklace they had polished it to a mirror shine and it was soldered perfectly. Mixed reviews, I keep going back. Have had diamonds set (they lost one when cleaning my wedding ring) charged me for "insurance" should one fall out again. Have had batteries replaced. Recently charged $10 just to pull a link out of a watch band. It's a walk in spot, convenient and quick. They do the job. For minor jobs I'll buy a watch repair kit on Amazon for the same price but they're convenient for a 10min turnaround so it's still worth in on occasion. read more

I've been to this store several times to have a tension ring polished. Gonzo refused to work on the ring because the diamond is set between the tension. When I explained I've had it worked on, he told I would be responsible for the diamond. I understand that! He gave me the ring back with the same amount of scratches and said to come back. There isn't anything he could do. I already went out of my way once. I went to my car to get my phone, and upon re entering the store, I heard him talking about me with another customer and referred to me as "Brokeback Mountain." Terrible! read more

Several jewelers are usually on duty, allowing them to perform service in most cases while the customer waits. The wait time is usually a matter of minutes and prices are very reasonable. The price quoted to have the center stone six prong tiffany setting repaired and ring rhodium polish was $50. It took about 30 mins from start to finsh of the process. Expensive Movado...1st time since I purchased it, needed a battery! Stopped in Jewelry Plus on 17th Street in Ft. Lauderdale to get a battery replaced. The women at the counter handed it to some man behind the desk (Owner) and they asked me, (1st) is it real and I replied Yes. Then they quoted me a price for a new battery and I agreed (2nd) at that time the man behind the desk (Owner) asked if I would also like to have my Movado checked for water proofing - and so I said Yes, as well. Then the Man (Owner) quoted me a price for a new battery and water proofing and I agreed. The women at the counter told me they would call me when it was ready, later htat afternoon...this was Thursday and I never heard from them. So on Friday I called to ask about my watch - they couldn't find my ticket number and told me they would call me...they didn't. So I went over to the Store on Friday afternoon. The women finally found my ticket and then charged me for the battery and waterproofing and sent me on my way. I have a green waterproofing receipt and a regular receipt. Friday when I got home and put my watch on that evening, I noticed the entire underside/backing was missing. I immediately called Jewelry Plus to let them know the back of my watch was missing. I was unable to return to the story on Friday night, so I returned on Saturday morning to inquire about the missing back portion of my Movado. All of a sudden The women at the counter had a story that I brought in the watch "like this, without a back"...that she distinctly remembers and then she goes to say how the women behind the counter agreed that they told me when I came in the back was missing from my watch - THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE, as I never even spoke to a women behind the counter, only a Man...and why would they offer water proofing and charge me for waterproofing if half the damn watch is missing! They just keep saying, I brought it in like this...and THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE. That Movado was perfect when I brought it into Jewelry Plus for a battery and now it has no back! Instead of just saying they made a mistake and lost the back of my watch they are saying it is my error. I realize now, that's most likely the reason they didn't call me for pick-up was that they were still looking for the back of my watch and I feel they knew damn well they lost it - But refused to admit it. The Team at Jewelry Plus is a bunch of liars at the Customer's loss! The Owner is just charging for services never even completed. This place is a scam. read more
