After being surprised by Josef's approximately $900 quote to replace the movement of the watch (a standard quartz movement that itself is available for sale online for ~$40) I took the watch to JR Dunn in Pompano--an authorized Tag dealer and repair shop, where Josef's is not--and was quoted less than $300 to have the entire job done, by Tag themselves, with a warranty. Shamelessly quoting 3x a certified dealer for the exact same job is outrageous.

He said if was missing some pieces and some of the pieces were broken. He took the heart of the clock home with him. He was upfront about the cost and we thought it was very reasonable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this jeweler! I will go see Jay for all my jewelry needs from here on out. I had just a vision in my head of what I wanted my custom wedding band to look like. Jay listened to my explanation and made my ring come to life. I had been to 3 other jewelers before going to see Jay. They either told me it was impossible to make, quoted me an outrageous price, or didn't really listen to me and tried to sell me something I didn't want. I was feeling pretty hopeless by the time I went to see Jay. He was recommended to me by a family member, and thank God he was! From the moment I walked into his shop, he and everyone else there treated us like family. Jay even gave me his personal cell phone number to contact him if I had any questions or concerns. My ring was apparently very difficult to make, but Jay was determined to make it for me, and it turned out even more beautiful than I could've ever imagined! It's a 3 strand braid lined in diamonds with one strand being rose gold, and 2 strands being white gold. He was quick, communicative, so very helpful (He also helped my fiancé pick out a band that he loves.), great about payment plans, and just an overall nice guy. I went to Latif's for my engagement ring and I could not be happier, but more importantly, my fiance could not be happier. I did my research prior to going in so I knew that I wanted a GIA certified diamond of a particular cut and color. They had several stones that matched my criteria and they seemed to understand exactly what I was looking for. Even still, I decided to shop around but eventually ended up back at Latif's, where I felt I was getting the most for my money. I just moved here and needed a ring guard. I stopped by the store today and a wonderful women by the name of Jacquire helped. She took her time finding me the right one. My watch required a large odd sized socket to remove the back and replace the battery. Other jewelry stores could not help me. It was recommended that I try Latif's. Carroll's Jewelers is now owned by the fourth generation of the Moorman family. A pair of earrings caught my eye and Emily came over to help me.
