Needed some links taken out of my Rado watches as well as several battery changes. One being a Concorde which is a very difficult battery change because it involves removing the front face as well as the rear. Having never been in the shop and not trusting my precious watches to just anyone I decided to give them a call. After saying it would be no problem and they have watchmakers on site that can do it no problem I took a ride over there. It's a small jewelry shop in the Publix shopping plaza right off of Hollywood Boulevard and I-95. I was immediately greeted by what turned out to be the son and third-generation owner of the shop. I was quoted between seven and eight dollars for most of the batteries. The Concord was more due to the complexity of the change. One of the advantages of coming here is they can do it while you wait and quickly. One of my Rado watches which is a ceramic band and generally a more difficult link removal was easily and professionally done. My second Rado watch which was older and had some issues because the pins were corroded. You can tell a professional watchmaker because they actually manufactured a new pin for me while I waited. They spent quite a bit of time with this watch and kept at it until it was a perfect repair. In the end he charged me a few dollars extra for work probably should've been more money but because he had quoted me a different price when I walked in he honored it. That my friends is service from a local shop that you cannot get anywhere else. I cannot recommend this shop more for watch repairs and batteries. They sell watches and jewelry and I'm sure if you needed some small repairs they can do that as well with the same level of service. I've been using these guys for at least 15 years now for minor jewelry repairs and changing watch batteries. They're quick and efficient.

The only place that I will take my watches & jewelry. I found them while looking for a watch maker. There aren't many left but heard they're third generation watch maker owned. I decide to give them a try and I'm hooked. I've noticed a bunch of shops that offer battery replacement in watches are charging more for designer watches than a plain watch even when it's the same battery used. Really?!?! Not here. The price they charge is a fair. I paid $12 for a new battery and back seal on my ceramic watch with screw on backing. I waited for it and it was done fast. They also offer a 1 yr guarantee in the batteries. The staff is very helpful and professional. I just left this store a few minutes ago and I am in shock! The daughter of this shop should not be dealing with the public. I've never seen her before or maybe she is in back of the business. I've come there for years to get repairs and she made me feel as if I was bothering her! Wow! Never had that happen before. She was pretending to help but underhandedly (blowing me off). The father is the total opposite. Very kind man. The daughter needs to take some cues from her dad and be more tactful and personable when dealing with guests! Quick and quality service at a fair price. I took 3 watches in: 2 invicta and 1 Diesel. The gentlemen who helped me explained to me that one of my Invicta watches just needed to be wound up a bit and didn't need a battery. He wound it properly right and the spot and told me I just need to wear it regularly. The other 2 I left I just picked up and they work perfectly. I was so happy I dropped off another 2 watches, one of which needs a total band replacement. Diesel and Invicta will charge you $100s in comparison and you will have to mail the watches and wait for it back. Minebender's should be your preferred alternative. read more

Carlos and family are very warm and welcoming. Went in here to get my wife's Rado Cermaica adjusted for links. He assured us he had the tools and the training and in fact he has worked specifically on such watches before. This was a big relief because many other jewelers and watch stores had refused to touch the watch as it needs very precise instruments and training without which the ceramic strap could crack. Not only did he complete the job quickly. He also did it with a smile. When we realized that the fit was a bit snug and had to add a link. When I brought the watch in. The senior watchmaker remembered me. I then knew my watch was in good hands. I did notice they had "regulars". They knew the customers by their first names. Do not leave your jewelry here. I went to have a mold made for my wedding ring, we left hubby's ring to make the mold. Saturday they called and said it was ready, we showed up today and the guy was looking and looking....we left. 30 minutes later they called and said they had found them. They did NOT apologize, they made excuses. I asked for a discount as this was the second time I had to go there today, nope. As well, I asked for a size 5. Written right on the sheet... and they gave me a size 4 so now I need to go elsewhere to size it correctly. They simply don't seem to care. At least the young man running it doesnt. Stay away. My wife took her engagement ring ( a family heirloom ) in to have the stone reset. During the consultation they removed the stone, 1.12 carats, and promptly lost it. It took 15 minutes to find it. While it was lost the owner told my wife not to worry as he would replace the stone that he said was at least 0.5 carat...wait what? After they finally found the stone and weighed it the owner said 'hey it is 1.12 carats'. Come pick up the ring on Friday they said. Friday came and went.....no ring....not ready. Come Saturday they said. She goes in on Saturday and the ring is now a size 5 1/2, a size and a half smaller then when it was dropped off. The owner says "no that can't be...we didn't resize it...".Nonsense. My wife had to go home and bring in the receipt from when Minebender resized it to 6 3/4 6 months ago. The owner has the nerve to tell my wife she's retaining water. Insulting. The ring wasn't tight, it was cut down. So back and forth it goes. They finally reluctantly resized it. It is now warped crooked and misshaped. The ring thickness varies the entire circumference and all the engraving from when it was handed from generation to generation is gone. Garbage work These people have become total hacks and should be ashamed of themselves for the work they did and how they treated my wife. I wouldn't trust them to change a watch battery.
